Costas i frokostsalen.
Lovely stay but some improvements needed
I stayed at Esperos Palace Resort in August 2022, with my best friend. It was the first all inclusive holiday since the pandemic started, so I was pretty excited. The hotel is nice, pretty big, I liked the room, clean and plenty of storage, has a balcony with a rack for your towels and swimsuits, the sea view is amazing from the room. There is a gym at the hotel that is ok-ish, you can do a workout if you want to, but it lacks a lot of equipment. The food was amazing, I'm a very picky eater in general, but this place had so much variety to choose from, and very tasty food, Greece in general has very good food. Pizza bar especially, super good! There are plenty of loungers at the pool and the beach, this was one of my main concern picking a hotel in the first place, reading reviews to see if people complain about the loungers. Here you could find a lounger at any hour of the day, so that was very good. On the negative side: I was very disappointed that for all inclusive guests the mini bar in the room is not refilled with water every day for free. There is only 1 pool bar which is pretty far if you are staying on the beach or at the other pool, and they only give you drinks in small cups, not even filled up all the way. I asked them if they could just fill up my water bottle, and they said no, they are not allowed. Water is one of the main human necessities, I don't understand how you can expect people to stay in 40 degrees in the middle of August with just tiny cups of water. There was a girl who fainted one day at the bar, maybe she didn't make it in time to get her share of water (only joking, it was probably from the heat, but still for paying almost £2K per person for this holiday, I expect a bottle of water at least). I always get the All Inclusive package on this type of holiday, because I choose convenience, I don't even drink alcohol, I don't want to worry where I'm gonna eat, or where is the store to go buy drinks, but this rule seems like it was made specifically to cause inconvenience to the guests, and buy a bottle of water from them that cost EUR 3, where you can find it at a store down the road for EUR 0.8. I get it, Covid must have hit hotels hard, so now they're trying to squeeze everything, but this left me with a bitter taste. And all these rules, where if I asked at the dinner restaurant for a glass of water to take up to my room, I was told I'm not allowed, so I had to go to the bar again to get one, and don't tell me it's for safety reasons, both were glasses. Or we sat one night in the lobby on one of their couches with a drink, and there is also a bar there (which is not included in the All Inclusive, you need to pay), and the barman came over to our couch to tell us we are not allowed to sit there with a drink from the other bar. Like common lighten up! People sit here all day when they check out waiting for their bus, or waiting to check in, I'm surprised we weren't charged for just sitting down. It is unfortunate because otherwise I would have rated it 5*. It was still a lovely holiday, I had fun with my friend. But I wouldn't return here, because there are so many all inclusive hotels in Rhodes, that I'd rather give them a try.
A good choice for Faliraki
Nice and clean rooms. Polite and helpful staff. Very good and rich English breakfast. 2-3 Restaurants inside. The beach in front of the hotel is not so good for swimming and you should watch out for the rocky areas.
I would not chose it again
I stayed here a week with my friend in august 2022. We booked the all inclusive package via TUI. The good: The pools and lazy river were nice. Enough pool/beach loungers at all times Food was really very good and varied; the daily pizza corner was amazing Rooms were fine, with good balconies (we had sea side view) The sea had minimal waves, good for swimming The bad: The drinks service. We had all inclusive but the only way to get water was to go to the pool bar where you could only get 1 glass of water (2 if you can carry them back) and even that was not filled all the way. How am I go get my 2L (in that heat 3L would be best actually) of daily water if they just give you half a glass?? This goes of course for all other drinks, but water being a real problem. There was also no free mini fridge refill included. The glasses were "paper" although written on them was mentioned they contain plastic, leading to such waste! We asked if they could just fill the water in our water bottles, they said "it's not allowed". So we had to buy our own bottled water while paying for all inclusive to avoid countless pool bar trips. It's very disrespectful to the customers. I also want to mention that there were two pool bars but only one catered to all inclusive payers, the other one (the pretty one that looks like a tower) being pay-only. So if you sit at that pool near it (it was the better pool, of course) you'd have to walk through the whole resort and back with your half glass of water. The pool near the bar had a very slippery floor and coincidentally it was the pool where the water gym and zumba took place, making it more difficult. Also the max depth of each pool was 140cm, not deep enough. If you don't speak German you are in difficulty because the staff mainly communicated directly in German with often poor English. Even the activities were direct in German. I had to translate everything to my friend. I spilled water (!) On the dining table and the staff was very rude and upset scolded me for it, although the clean-up (a bit of mopping and change of table cloth) was done in like 1min. The bathroom in our room was in a bad state, in need of renovation. It had a nasty Bathtub and the non-slip mat they provided was gross, I reluctantly touched it to move it under the sink. I also could clearly hear what was happening in the neighbor bathroom. There was no ventilation to speak of and the bubbles from taking a shower would gather up from the drain under the sink. The shower gel was bad too we used our own. I listed the sea having minimal waves in the positives, but for me it was more of a negative as I like the waves and also their sound, so I missed them. The beach is rocky and not flat overall, you need water shoes. I would not go there again. Maybe if one doesn't book all inclusive it's different. But for me personally the state of a hotel bathroom is important, and this combined with drinks and pool bar situation made my review a two stars review.
Beautiful hotel
Amazing hotel, very clean, staff very friendly and it has all the amenities you need. The hotel knew it was our honeymoon and so decorated the bed with petals. It was lovely and a personal touch. Pool is great and I honestly can’t fault anything. We were particularly impressed with the variety of food in the evening (we were half board). The air con was also amazing. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
