God ferie

Vi har hatt ei kjempefin uke på Barcelo Fuerteventura. Hotellet er velholdt og veldrevet. Betjeningen er vennllig og effektiv. Vi hadde all inclusive, og måltidene har vært gode og rikelige, med god variasjon på lunsj og middag. Til middag kunne vi tenkt oss kaffe til desserten, men den fikk vi ta i baren etterpå. Bassengområdet er stort, med flere bassenger og gode solforhold. Vi hadde ikke problem med å finne ledig plass, selv etter lunsj. Vi kunne kanskje klart oss uten noen av duene ved bassengbaren. Fra bassengområdet kan du gå ut på strandpromenaden og rett ned på ei bred strand. I vannet er det stein, og det kan være vondt å gå ut ved lavvann. Soloppgangen på strandpromenaden mot øst er en opplevelse.

A mixed review by frequent visitor

This is a difficult review to write because i've been to the hotel 3 times previously which were all 5 star experiences, and this was my fourth stay, but not so 5 star in a way. Lets start with the good. The hotel itself, the staff, the location, the swimming pools, the bar, the restaurant, the cleanliness...it is superb, hence why ive been 4 times now. The rooms lovely, the beds super comfortable, they are cleaned daily by the lovely staff. The whole hotel is extraordinary in all aspects. You wont be disappointed by any of the facilities, the beach is on the doorstep too so going from pool to beach is a great benefit of the hotel. Here comes my gripe. I booked all-inclusive, and all 3 past experiences all-inclusive meant all-inclusive...however, upon my 4th visit....I am greeted in the restaurant but then refused entry into another area.....apparently there is an All-inclusive Plus.....had I known there was 'another' level of all-inclusive id have opted for it, but it seems that your room grade adds an additional level of exclusiveness to your chosen level of board which is ridiculous and it is not clearly highlighted when booking. This meant that all previous normal all-inclusive items were now not included such as certain drinks on the menu, complimentary gowns, slippers etc which I had had on previous visits. My second gripe is the evening entertainment. Previously I can only describe the evening entertainment as being almost on par with the West End or Vegas.....the shows by the animation team as well as the 3rd party acts brought in were simply breath taking, they use to do Lion King, Starlight Express, the stage would be set up with magnificent props to match the shows....3rd party entertainers such as gymnasts...bring in exotic wild life such as parrots, snakes eagles etc and each year it would be different but still the same calibre of performance.....however....this year not quite on par with previous years by a substantial level. This year was just a number of 3rd party singers, a band, and one member of the animation team pulling people out the crowd to do some sort of silly games.....followed by a singer (karaoke ' esq) The stage was just a backdrop curtain with no props for any shows...the atmosphere just felt dead this year which is a major shame because as I said above the hotel itself is superb. Come on Barcelo......please sort the entertainment out. I spent an absolute fortune this year to come back again with increase costs, i'd like to come back next year, but that will depend on reviews of the evening performance between now and then. final comment...please change the black paving around the pool back to beige tiles.......it gets so hot you cant walk.

Fantastic Barcelo Mar

Great hotel and staff! Will be returning again at some point in the near future. I would recommend booking direct to get the best deals and also get the additional benefits! The availability of activities kris a treat.

Barcelo Mar fuerteventura was a great solo stay

Great solo trip. I was a little nervous reading the negative reviews, but I took a leap of faith and didn’t regret it. First the reception staff are all lovely especially Sonia with the most amazing ink art of tattoos she was so personable, approachable and always had a smile when you approached reception, having worked in customer service for many years she really has amazing qualities. My room with a balcony and view of the beach was wonderful and the best sleep I’ve had in a while, those beds sheesh!!! The food at the restaurant had lots of options but as a vegan I stuck to vegetables which was ok I can’t comment on anything else. One thing I will say is when booking and choosing pay at hotel they do not use the daily bank exchange rate, the hotel have their own really strange rate, the euro and pound go up and down but not by a lot. So the day I arrived the exchange rate was €580 = £509 the hotel has its own rate which €580 = £560 I was a little taken back by that but it is what II is all in all I really enjoyed the whole Barcelo experience and Kate in the restaurant those ladies work very hard when I decided to sit on the other side of the restaurant I met Kate and the other ladies who were attentive and friendly. They even left a cake and bottle of bubbly as it was my birthday while I was there 😁 So thank you barcelo team for a great stay Sophia x

Happy 50th wedding anniversary celebration

Approximately our eighth stay at Hotel Barcelo. Receptionist Erica was excellent and looked after us very well. Our room great rooms were lovely Lovely restaurant with delicious food. The pools were excellent, the children loved the cold pool, but I preferred the heated one. We will consider returning. Highly recommend Barcelo Mar.
