Store rom. Fin utsikt. Hyggelig personalet.

Tett flytrafikk rett over hotellet. Flyplass er ca 7-10 km fra hotellet. Det er fint å se på flyene som lander men det er mye støy. Men det er ikke noe hotellet kan gjøre noe med.

Hyggelig hotell med svært god spisesal.

Noe rot innledningsvis da vi fikk tildelt en juniorsuite (604) hvor det støyet fra vannrørene. Byttet til nytt rom (554) sent første kvelden, og deretter virket alt bra. God og variert middagsservering. Fint basseng, men det er behov for å vaske og reparere mange solsenger. Rolig nattesøvn som vi satte meget stor pris på.

Ok hotel God service

Vi har vært her en uke i desember 2019 Kort vei fra flyplassen Alle fly inn til Fu går over hotellet men helt ok Vi hadde ok velkomst og fikk rom i 3 etasje med hav og basseng utsikt Bra Ikke renhold første dagen og renholder går bare inn på rommet og starter uten å spørre :( Buffe restaurant med god mat Bra med forskjellige kjøtt retter Bra salatbar Selvbetjening på øl vin brus Bra. Fint bassengområde Ett basseng og boblebad med 25 gr Denne uka var det nok solsenger og ingen reservering 22 gr i skyggen Opp til 33 i sola En del skyer fram til Kl 1200 hver dag men 4 t sol er ok. Fin strandpromenade inn til byen Marked med vanlige boder Stille og rolig Takk for oss

Horrible experience - even with lowered expectation due to Corona

Travelling as a family with a 4 year old and a 3 months old. The idea was to “escape” the bad weather and COVID lockdown a bit and to offer the kids (especially the 4 year old) some fun time in the sun. That’s why we booked this hotel - according to their website they have a mini club and heated pools (also a baby pool) as well as a playground and Minigolf. For the adults the most important was some decent food (we booked All Inclusive). First impression when we arrived in the evening was somewhat positive, as we got upgraded to a suite for free (maximum 20% occupancy) but from there on it was downhill very quickly. We were told that the Miniclub is closed. When we then went for dinner I checked the swimming pool and found out that they were not heated at all (although we were reassured during check in that they are heated). The dinner itself was a major disgrace - they had told us at reception during check in that due to COVID there was only one of the three restaurants open. Fair enough, understandable. But that doesn’t explain why the food selection was extremely limited, the food was not tasty at all, sometimes almost cold and why half of the dishes where the leftovers from the meal before. Impossible to eat that food for two weeks straight. With a bad feeling we went to bed and when we woke up the next morning we made a walk through the hotel to check it out a bit more. Well ... the Minigolf was not able to be played as all dirty and not kept in shape for a while. The baby pool was also cold and the playground was closed. So I went to the reception to complain about all this, because I had no clue how we were supposed to stay here for 2 weeks if all the facilities for the children was closed/unplayable and the food was so bad. It’ll was told that the manager would contact me as soon as he comes into the hotel. In the afternoon we had the meeting with our tour operator. I hadn’t heard from the manager of the hotel yet, so I also complained to the tour operator. She said that she would talk to the manager too, but we already looked at switching hotels. To cut a long story short, by the afternoon of the next day the manager had still not contacted us. No attempt had been made to improve the points that I had raised and by then we had received an offer to switch to a better hotel, which we did. I understand that it’s difficult times, but if you decide as a hotel to stay open, then please do it with a minimum of quality service and respect towards your clients. This hotel gave us the impression to pay for a 4 star hotel and to get a 1 star service, and on top of that they didn’t even have the decency to talk to us.

An unfortunate time to visit this hotel

We had booked to visit the Sara's sister hotel ( the Carlotta) down the road for 10 days over Christmas 2020 travelling with Jet2 but 3 days before leaving home, Jet2 informed us that we could no longer go to the Carlotta and would be going to the Sara instead . As we were to find out, the Carlotta closed in September so was actually closed when Jet2 took our booking. Makes you think, doesn't it?? Reviews for,the Sara suggested that it was like Marmite (either love it or,hate it) but we tried to keep an open mind. There were only 46 passengers on the plane going out from Manchester on 20 December and we were the only people on the transfer coach going to the Sara (well Covid was playing a part). We were told that the hotel was only 30% full so there was no rush for sunbeds!! Our room was OK but you had to climb in the bath to have a shower. We had been told by reception that the main restaurant was closed also some of the bars. The problem was that they were using a pool bar/snack bar as the main restaurant. Whilst this may have been OK for a snack by the pool, it was most certainly not OK to use as a main restaurant in a 4* hotel. The tables were spread out for social distancing but they were dirty with sticky surfaces and the chairs were wicker and too low for the table unless you had a couple of cushions to sit on. The floor was also dirty. The food was held in warming cabinets and turned out to be almost cold. In fact the quality of the food was beyond awful especially at breakfast with inedible sausages and fried eggs which were dried up and looked as if they had been cooked a couple of days earlier. We had to eat here for all meals which was a gloomy prospect especially with Christmas Day looming. So imagine our surprise when they opened the real main restaurant for a gala evening buffet which was outstanding so we were left wondering why this could not have been used on other days. In fact it was used on Boxing Day for evening meal but guests still had to use the awful snack bar for other meals. In the event, other guests were being informed by Jet2 that their holidays were being cut short. We had not been told anything and as time went on we became more and more concerned. We tried to contact the airline rep but no success. We also tried to ring them in the UK. We felt abandoned but up stepped Debbie from the hotel reception desk. She managed to contact the tour operator in the U.K. on Christmas morning and got confirmation that we were to fly home on 27 December which turned out to be their last flight out to Manchester. What a help she was. She was brilliant. In fact all the staff at the hotel were good, even those who had to work in the snack bar. So no complaints there. Our main gripe was that the hotel, by using the awful snack bar for meals, gave the impression that customers weren't important. I appreciate that the time of our visit wasn't ideal with the Covid situation but I don't think this is an excuse for some of actions taken by the hotel. Would we go here again? Probably not as we would be worried that the snack bar would be used for all our meals. Good points for the hotel was plenty of hot water in the bathroom, lifts to all floors, clean room and of course a brilliant reception.

Relaxing Holiday

We have visited Caleta de Fuste before but this was our first stay at this hotel. Initial impressions were really promising. The reception area is large and modern. Check in was fairly quick; we had to provide our negative Covid test and passports. We asked for an upgrade and the receptionist provided this without hesitation. The hotel only had 23% occupancy due to the pandemic so it wasn't too difficult to upgrade us. We were a little disappointed with the room; the only extras we received were dressing gowns, slippers and a coffee machine. The room was exactly the same as a standard double and we ended up with a smaller balcony? The rooms definitely need an update; the bathrooms are very tired and need ripping out. It has a very 90s feel about it. As the hotel was at such low capacity, the main dining area and Broadway Lounge was closed. We ate all our meals in the Tucan restaurant and the only bar was in the lobby. We were disappointed with the selection of food available and it was very repetitive. There wasn't much on offer for vegetarians and as I don't each a lot of meat, I struggled some days to find a suitable meal. But we didn't starve and we understood the difficulties the hotel were having. I have to say that all the staff we encountered were lovely, very polite and nothing was too much trouble. Masks had to be worn at all times unless you were eating/drinking and hand sanitiser was available in reception, restaurant and the lifts. All staff were wearing masks and most guests complied. Pool area was very nice and there are plenty of sunbeds to choose from. One area of the pool was heated and the other side was obviously very cold; not that we braved it! The closest beach is a 6 min walk from the hotel but the sun loungers had been removed so you had to provide your own seating. Caleta Town centre is a brisk 25 min walk away which we did on a regular basis during the day but only did a couple of times in the evening due to most restaurants/bars being closed. The hotel is next to the Atlantico Shopping Centre so we used the restaurants there when we wanted a change from the hotel. All in all, we had a lovely relaxing break and the weather was fabulous. We would stay here again if the rooms were upgraded.
