God mat, hyggelige ansatte, fine basseng og strandområder, god underholdning og barnevennlig. Fint spa.

Amazing Hotel

Very nice hotel with all the comfort nieeded for a family, facilities, services, food. Everything is great. The beach is incredible. The only ''bad'' point is the pool, way too cold...and maybe a lack of staff or security service to check the bad behaviours of people ...German tourist are the worst, zero respect but the hotel is not responsible for that.

Fab Oct break

Perfect short break with Family. Sun shone, food was excellent, amazing choice and decent variety of drinks too. Clean cosy room and everything you'd expect from a modern all inclusive resort. Staff couldn't have been more accommodating.

Half term holiday

Originally we had booked into Lyttos Beach but an upgrade was offered so we took it. We arrived very late and were made to feel very welcome. The room was spacious and clean. The fridge only had a few bottles of pop in them which was a surprise for an all inclusive resort. Other all inclusives we have stayed at have had a fridge fully stocked with beers and wines, etc. The hotel looks amazing with lovely pools, the unheated saltwater pools did get a bit of getting used to but they were clean. We used the buffet which offered a good range of food, the desserts looked amazing but all tasted the same by the end of the week. We also ate at the asian restaurant which was superb. The following night we tried the Argentinian restaurant which was a massive let down, any of the items worth having were at very expensive extra cost. There was only one rump steak as part of the all inclusive which to me is a bit of a cop out. My wife's dish was so over-seasoned she could not eat it and my daughter did not eat the pasta. I had the pork fillet which was very tasty but the accompanying half potato and celeriac was undercooked and tepid at best. We weren't asked how our food was by the staff which concerned me a little. The street food shack offered whatever was on the kids menu from the buffet and was often very dry. The greek restaurant was closed so we couldn't even try that. The staff at the laguna bar were always helpful and cheerful. We tried to get a drink at Lyttos Beach on another occasion, and were told we would have to pay extra even though we had an upgrade, the resorts were connected and Lyttos Beach offered exactly the same drinks menu as Mare. There seemed to be a lot of activities for the kids at Lyttos Beach and we only saw 1 kids disco at Mare. My 8 year old daughter was not overly impressed. in fact, there was very little for adults to do in the evening. We did have some issues with a very noisy family laughing, screaming, singing and shouting to 2am on 2 nights so we asked if the management could intervene and maybe allow us to change rooms. A change of room was offered instantly and we were moved to a room with a private pool. Thank you to Stella and the reception team who helped us. The room again, was clean and tidy, the pool unheated and never really got any sun as it faced north and was always in shade so never really warmed up. I spent a few hours in the gym which was fantastic, top spec equipment and everything you would need to work out. The waterpark at Lyttos Beach was great fun for the family, easy to find a sun lounger, the beach was also very good, lots of fish to see when swimming and snorkelling. There is a mini-mart which held all the usual products to buy when on holiday. As the week progressed it became apparent that the finish to the hotel had been rushed and not maintained well enough for a 5 star rating in our opinion, loose and damaged drain covers (near the luggage room in block 3), marks on the walls, poor workmanship to the glass fitting, paint work and paving just made things a little less appealing. Speaking with the reception staff as were waiting to leave we were told the hotel was closing for the winter the following day. It felt that the hotel was winding down and stripping rooms, often leaving cushions and broken down sun loungers in stacks outside some of the other rooms after 2 days of being there. Sure this could have been done after the official closing date. It is such a shame that these little things have let down a potentially fantastic hotel/resort. There are so many good things about it, not to mention being only 30 minutes from the airport. Little things made the holiday less than we had hoped. I understand that this is its first season and I am sure that when the season is reviewed by senior management and taking reviews like this in to account next year will be far better. Maybe more information or excursions could be offered as Crete has such a rich culture, we had to organise everything ourselves. Small things matter, especially to paying guests. In conclusion, we had a generally lovely time but the hotel needs to have a little more thought put into it. With a bit of effort, clear thinking and some small changes to make this a great resort. Good luck for next year.

Better for adults than for kids.

We came here in October half term with our 3 children we couldn't get booked into lyttos beach as it was full at time of booking. When we arrived we was advised to go for food as the restaurant was closing soon do we did. Check in was not so great as we didn't know everything had to be done by an app so it was a little frustrating had to give the receptionist my phone to sort it out. Was shown to room by bell boy which was nice only given one key card but did request another. Our room was supposed to be a garden view room to which it wasn't it was above a nursery or kids creche and overlooked the hotel next door. We was woken early every morning by some sort of car reving outside not sure what this actually was but very annoying. The room it's self was lovely and cleaned every day. All the staff that worked around the hotel were very friendly expect for nico I think his name was who worked in the gym he kept telling the kids they couldn't jump in the indoor pool with is fine but when a child is just sat on the edge of the pool he just presumed she was going to and told her off. He then told us we had to leave as the children was being too loud and its not a water park. We was very angry at this and told him you carnt tell children to be quite and I won't tell my children to be quite told him to go away from us and not to come near again I did report this to receptionist to which she was apologetic. When we returned a day later he didn't speak to us just kept staring but still told other children off. The food was OK we didn't starve but it was very plain no real flavor. For the kids pasta was OK but the chicken nuggets my son didn't like. The pools are all salt water only kids pool and indoor pool chlorine my son developed a rash from the salt water which wasn't great lucky I had some nappy cream. Both the steak and Asian restaurant were lovely. The little arcade they have is good for children the guy that runs it is lovely and friendly. The beach was great for the kids. Would we return, No it's more for adults than children and for the with the pools being salt water and food not so great. It is a lovely hotel an would recommend it as adults rather than for the kids.

Good experience would go again

Had an excellent stay here with the family in a 2 bed family room. Options on food and drink were very good and went to both the a la carte restaurants which both require a reservation and would recommend that you book early to avoid disappointment. I booked the steak restaurant on the first day I arrived and the first available table was the day before I was due to leave. You have access to the pool with slides in the sister hotel and they do allow you to get food and drink from the fast food restaurant near to the slides which was great as did not need to go back and forth. Room was cleaned and things were replenished through out the holiday. Shows were cheesy and the kids loved the musical shows by the life entertainments team.
