Provided meals for the yoga retreat
Mandraki Village provide meals for a yoga retreat organized by Yoga by Goga and they did an amazing job. Their buffet style breakfast is just amazing. It provides variety for all dietary restrictions; form gluten free, dairy free to variety for people who love continental and hot breakfast. They had good assortment of fresh fruits, freshly squeezed juices and salads. Their dinner menu is very good as well. Lot of options for vegetarians and vegans. All ingridients were very fresh and tasty.
Amazing small hotel
Fantastic boutique hotel. Wonderful location near to good restaurants. Hotel restaurant on site is excellent. Breakfast is wonderful, for the size of the hotel there is great selection. Staff are all fantastic. Spotlessly clean. Room was great and the bathroom has the best shower ever. Pool area was an oasis of calm with plenty of very comfortable sun beds. There was a very memorable outdoor cinema night on Thursday which was a great experience. Nothing too much trouble for staff who were all really friendly and helpful. Beach was ten minutes walk and had soft sand and plenty to see including two black swans. Lots of sun beds at 10euros for two beds. Best beach we visited in Greece. Two bars with fair drinks prices but would not recommend the food. Only downside was no sea views from the hotel but that did mean the beach was not overlooked by huge hotels and as it was so close to the hotel not a big deal. Can’t wait to return to this friendly, beautifully decorated oasis. We travelled in September so the beach was quiet. It may not suit us in August. Will return next September, can’t wait. Should not have favourite but Ekas restaurant manager is brilliant!
Skiathos With friends
We visited here with another couple from 20th September to 27th after picking this property because of the reviews on trip advisor as we have never visited Skiathos before. The rooms were fine with a hot shower of decent power (usual greek splashing on the floor) beds were very comfortable, fridge with water thats topped up every day, free safe, compimentary toiletries,a tv though we didn't watch so can't say what channels were available ,air con,our room viewed over the gardens and a maid service that was great as she was very effecient and always chatty & smiling. The pool area is set in lovely grounds with sunbeds always available & pool towels laid out. We were bed & breakfast for the week and although at first glance it looks small everything is there from yoghurts to pastries to bacon all set in a bright airy room with coffee from a machine (my wife & friend raved about the breakfast as they loved it) A couple of days in the week they offered a station doing pancakes and omlettes Koukanaries is basically a long road with hotels ,few bars and restaurants on it & the hotel is located at one end but all the amenities are within easy reach & we enjoyed all the restaurants & the bars which also show sports. The main beach is across the road through the nature reserve & is only a ten minute walk or you could walk the full length of the road to the far end of the beach, its a lovely beach with 2 beach bars ,sunbeds & watersports. Also by walking down the road there are two tracks off to the right which take you to either Mandraki ortwo other bays depending which you took. The walk is lovely through the pine forest & the beaches are totally unspoilt & really quiet. Travel to Skiathos main town is 2 Euros & the buses run a regular timetable taking around 1/2 hr depending on stops ,the town is well worth a visit and we even went back to do the Mama Mia open air theatre which is cheesy good fun as well as doing the "have to" pics at the end of the very short runway Whist we were there unfortunately Thomas Cook went bust & having read online horror stories at various hotels around europe I cannot praise the staff enough here as they were wonderful even helping to check if the airport transfers were still running. Would I recommend this hotel...yes as its a great place to stay whilst exploring this scenic island
It is a 3 star hotel!
Not a good hotel for a 4 star rated! Very basic rooms and very avarage breakfast with no much fresh fruit on the buffet and coffee from a self service machine. Staff in reception not very helpful. I would't recommend it to anyone.
Superb hotel in Skiathos
This hotel is an absolute gem. The location is very good - handy for Koukounaries beach which was far too busy for our liking but just half an hour walk through pine forests brought us to a choice of 3 or 4 quiet beaches. These were beautiful with plenty of sun beds, shades and a taverna on each one. The hotel was slightly further out of town than some we looked at but we felt that was a bonus and, with the efficient bus service to and from the town, made little difference. We did enjoy our trips to the town but there is a good choice of restaurants, bars and a couple of shops near to the Mandraki Village Boutique Hotel. The hotel was delightful - comfortable, clean room, gorgeous pool and well tended gardens. The choice at breakfast was amazing and the Greek Night and Elias restaurant are not to be missed. However, the best thing about this hotel is the staff and the ambience they create. I couldn’t fault any of them but Andreanos, Marina, Akis and the lady in charge of breakfast particularly stood out for their cheerful smiles, helpfulness and desire to please. They joined in the fun on the Greek Night and Live Music Night in the Elias restaurant and enjoyed themselves as much as we did! Our Olympic Holiday rep, Alison, gave us some good tips on where to go. One suggestion was to get off the bus at Stop 12 and walk around the peninsula before catching the bus back to the hotel at Stop 13. This was a lovely walk (despite the heat) and we found a wonderful beach “Diamandi” where the small number of holidaymakers seemed to have arrived by boat rather than the steep path we used. There was the nicest beach taverna you could wish for where we ate the most delicious lunch of our holiday. We hired a jeep for one day - definitely needed a jeep for the rough roads which were not suitable for cars - and had an interesting tour around the island, visiting the Kastro and the monastery. Also took a boat trip to Skopelos and Alonissos which was well worth doing - loved both islands but it confirmed that Skiathos was the best choice for our holiday. My husband and I thoroughly recommend this hotel and the island - I feel bad that it has taken me almost three months to write the review!
