Gara dysfunctional suites and below par staff
When we arrived at 1pm we were told that we needed to wait until 3pm to check Into room ' upon checking In to our room which was a very far walk from the reception and pool on the ground floor we discovered that our door keys would not work and had to wall back again , when with did get Into the room the bed sheets were not clean and covered in snots next to pillow , we tried to call reception and no answer so needed to walk back again now , we asked the receptionist if we could change rooms to one closer to pool perhaps and we didn't mind to pay something extra for that but he answered that he couldn't as lots of guests are coming tomorrow , we went for dinner in the dining complex that evening and were very disappointed 'the food was quite tasteless and the quality of fresh salad and fruit was poor ' the following morning we were awoken to the sound of 70 plus cleaners and staff shouting outside the room at 6am , we went for breakfast and were even more disappointed, if it wasn't from a can or bag then it was cooked by a 4 year old perhaps ' dried eggs and greasy bacon was the highlight ' after breakfast we asked reception about planned trips and tours and were told to speak to the woman who would be in the lobby at 9 , we waited but no women ever came at 9, it was becoming fairly obvious that this place was totally dysfunctional and the staff were well below standard . Overall the place is nice ans the staff are polite enough but avoid this place as it's very very much below par .
Beautiful hotel and facilities
Just back from staying here and will definitely be back again. Hotel, facilities and surroundings are spotless clean and very well kept. Views from hotel are stunning over golf course. Food was beautiful and staff can’t help enough. Rooms are great, very spacious and are up to date and modern. Nothing bad can be said for our trip here.
Loved the hotel and its location
The suite ( bedroom, living area and bathroom) were spacious and modern .The view was a pool view rather than a golf view. Opted for half board and was not disappointed with the quantity and quality of food. There was animation in the evening, though low key. The service was very good too. When are key did not worked someone was sent also most straight away to change the battery in the lock. We also used the spa which was basic but effective. I like the ambience of the hotel and found reception very helpful especially when ordering taxis. What I least like was the location. If you want a quiet location with no bars, restaurants or other amenities about then Gara Suites is for you. It was quite a walk to the amenities and we ended up catching taxis practically everyday. Good plus in the proximity to Siam Mall which was visited at least twice during the holiday. Overall an excellent hotel.
Manager needs a can do attitude. When we arrived we were told we were upgraded, strange as I already paid for an upgrade. We went to our room and we got the room we payed for (no upgrade). The apartment was nice but was next to the pool bar and we planned to have a relaxing holiday. We asked to be moved to a quite room and was told there was nothing available…. Lies. Eventually they moved us but there was no golf view that we paid for. My wife went to the reception again but was again told there was nothing available. This time I asked for the manager and yes you guessed it… nothing else available until I showed him the booking we’ve made for 2024 and they found us a quite room with the golf view. The management needs to change their attitude and try to help solve issues. Not all Brits want to get drunk and listen to loud music during the day. I like this hotel and this was our second and last visit. I have now cancelled next year’s holiday. The “hot” food was Luke warm whatever time you went for breakfast but credit where credit’s due the cold choices were fantastic especially the smoothies. The restaurant staff were pleasant and polite and the maids were friendly.
Not sure where the bad reviewers stayed
From the moment we arrived to the second we left everything was perfect, we had absolutely no issues, reception staff were friendly and informative, we arrived at 2.50pm on an all inclusive board and the receptionist quickly put wristbands on us and said "I will keep your cases here until you come back, go have lunch as it closes in 10 minutes", we had lunch and collected our cases and keys and when we got to the room it was perfect, very spacious and everything we needed. Balcony overlooking the pool and a lovely deep bath. Never any trouble getting a sunbed by the pool, rented a towel from reception on the first day for €10 which was exchanged every day by the spa for a fresh one and on departure we returned the towel and got the €10 euro back. The spa itself was brilliant I paid €15 and got two hours in the pool, sauna and steam room, it wasn't overcrowded and the blonde lady at the reception desk is exteremly friendly. The food in the restaurant was lovely the meat was good quality and the salads were fresh and we always found something to suit us, waiters were attentive and filled your glass up as soon as it was empty. Overall we had a lovely experience and I would definitely return to this hotel.
