If you’re expecting a 3.5/4 star hotel.. You will be disappointed…
So.. we came to Electra as a big group for a wedding nearby - lots of friends and family staying here so it should have been a brilliant time. Don’t get me wrong we made the most of it - but we were very disappointed overall. This hotel has HUGE potential, but cleanliness is the only thing that is a deal breaker for me.. even a 1 star hotel should still be clean.. I would say most the facilities are worth 3 stars but the fact it was filthy was why I gave 2. Positives.. Lovely staff - who are friendly and hard working. I couldn’t fault the staff, other than maybe they have no zest or passion for what they do (but why would they) The food was ok.. Some tasty options and the kids always ate. Maybe 3 star food at best but it wasn’t awful. Negatives.. I can honestly say all of our rooms (there were 23 of us) were absolutely filthy! There was beard hair in the sink- scuzz, rust, grime, dirt and hair literally everywhere. Mascara on pillow cases, crumbs in the drawers you name it.. The water park was filthy.. Lovely staff again, friendly and helpful- the kids loved it - but it was green with slime and slippy.. I wish I brought my dip tests lol.. There were corners cut everywhere.. Water added to all the juices- one member of staff meaning you had to queue for 20 minutes to get a drink - watered down drinks and they ran out of several spirits, soft drinks etc.. hardly any sun beds and the ones that were there were broken and old and very uncomfortable. Missing balls in the pool table. The only kids entertainment was colouring once a day and a Zumba class - then a show in the evening which was ok.. The kids - they had a good time.. they had no idea what to expect and we did what we could to entertain them, but I honestly wouldn’t ever come here again. It has the potential to be a lovely hotel but it was so unbarebly filthy. If you have the chance to move.. please do.. I am by no means fussy.. but this really was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.. 2 of the kids have come back with skin Infections and I’m not surprised at all.
I came here in 2016 and the food was amazing so I came back in 2022 after the pandemic and the food is inedible... they have cut so many corners. The cheese for the jacket potatoes were like grated paper. Breakfast was nice but that's about it. The snack bar was a joke only spring rolls and hard chips and it was mostly gone so couldn't even get snacks. Such a shame because the hotel is lovely and the waterpark is fab for kids. Sort your food out at least make it edible.. 1 star for food 3 star for the hotel and grounds
Electra holiday Village Hotel - Absolutely Awful
We booked this hotel under the assumption that it had been re vamped , there were 22 of us and I can honestly say that this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in! The sun beds are mostly all broken and need replacing as they are torn and have metal screws sticking out. The pool is freezing cold and has plasters floating in it . The inside bar wasn’t open and the Pool bar constantly ran out Vodka, Hot chocolate and juices. The staff are absolutely lovely and I really felt for them as they clearly worked very Hard Especially Dorina Andreas they catered for our every need and always had a smile and a greeting to my Grandaughter. This is listed as a 3 star hotel BUT I would list this is as a 1 star at best! I am never ever negative about places we go to unless it’s justified and can honestly say if you have time to change your holiday , do it! Unless your happy with kids kicking footballs against the wall at 2 in the morning and people shouting & swearing at each other because they are totally Hammered in front of their children as they’ve been drinking since the bar opened! This is an honest Review…..
I stayed at electra from 19.09.2021 for 2 weeks, this holiday was for my wedding so there was a group of 27 of us all various ages. I can not praise this hotel enough, before arriving i had been emailing the hotel with various questions and always had a helpful answer back. When we arrived at the hotel after a very stressful journey we were all greeted by welcome drinks and various staff members all making sure we was looked after. Our room was very modern and spacious, we had an upstairs room with pool view. We had a welcome fruit basket and a bottle of wine waiting for us. The pool area was great, the children loved it. Plenty of sun loungers although a bit dated some damaged. Breakfast was typical fruits yoghurts, croissants, beans, egg, bacon etc. Lunch was various things, pasta and feta salad was my favourite. We didn’t stay in for dinner as we like to eat out on evenings, cyprus has so many lovely restaurants to visit. Tequila up the road is a must. There was a mini disco and entertainment every night, and towards the end of our holiday when the hotel became busier bingo started. Bar staff were all friendly, great with the children. Savvos Always had a beer ready for my friend it became a running joke. My daughters loved the face painting in the day also. The water park across the road was a great hit with all ages. Lazy river, water slides, and a pool. There is also a bar in the water park. The beach at the back of the hotel is also lovely with comfy sun beds to hire for small amount for the day. You can walk back to hotel for food and drinks. The best thing about this hotel was by far the staff! The lady manager on reception was such a lovely person, she checked everyday that everything was ok for us, she helped me organise some things for the wedding, and she was always so friendly. Nothing was too much to ask. A credit to the hotel. I also met the hotel manager who also always asked if things were ok or anything he could do for us. When the transfer arrived to take us to the airport they even helped us to load our luggage on to the bus and waved us all off. I would 100% go back to this hotel. The memories we have made will last forever. Thank you electra! Stacey and James x
Perfect for families
We came to this hotel for 10 days in October and was very impressed when we arrived. By looking at the pictures on TUI app, I was expecting it to be quite dated, but was pleasantly surprised. We arrived around 2.45pm and as our room wasn't quite ready we was sent in to have some food as we had been up since 2am. Food was okay, but got samey as the holiday went on. We ended up eating out for food for the last few days of the holiday. This didn't spoil our holiday and would happily visit this hotel again. We loved that it was a mini village rather than 3 story hotels. Ayia Napa was a short 15 minute walk from the hotel and Nissi Beach 15 minute drive in the opposite direction. Plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from. We had a studio room with a private terrace situated perfectly by the pool. On the nights our children were tired, we could sit out on the terrace and enjoy the entertainment and toddle down for drinks from the bar. The door kept enough noise out so the children could sleep peacefully. The Staff were always pleasant and couldn't do enough for you, a big shout out to the bar man Savvas for being the highlight of most evenings, always had a smile on his face and couldn't do enough for you. Always checking if you needed a top up or a fresh drink. The waterpark just a 2 minute walk across the road from the hotel, the slides were fantastic and the kids couldn't get enough of them. The pool was spacious and had plenty of use, and plenty of sun loungers so no-one was fighting over them. The evening entertainment was brilliant a mini disco every night and we had different shows while we were there, a parrot show, the effect brothers (fire eating, ect), karaoke, etc Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely visit again, we are so pleased we picked this hotel!
