Great hotel and perfect location
We stayed here for one week with our 2 small children. The location of the hotel is perfect as it is directly on the promenade with a great selection of restaurants and adults only beach club. The hotel facilities were great with a lovely pool area and kids club. The quality of food and drinks at the pool bar was great and staff were very friendly. We stayed bed and breakfast and found there to be a great selection every morning. The rooms were spotlessly clean and a great size for families. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle bus service to the theme parks which was amazing and is very close to all local attractions.
5 star with limits - not getting what you think
Currently staying in the hotel. Arrived around 9am on 18th Feb for our 1st wedding anniversary after an overnight flight from London. We had booked through kenwood travel, where we had booked a standard room. Much to our disbelief, we were given a room with no balcony overlooking a building site. I revisited reception where I had to argue for 45 minutes to gain a better room - albeit no balcony. We were then also told that we could not have any refreshments at all until our all inclusive package kicked in at 3pm. Again after words of disappointment we were told that we could eat in the buffet and could have lunch if we asked. Have never in all years of travelling around the world been told that we can’t eat and drink after a long flight without paying for it. Pool staff have been amazing, especially Watson and Victor. Lunch in the capilla bar is very good, but they have got our order wrong every day. There is a bar here that is not part of the hotel chain (Irish bar), but it’s £10 for a pint of beer! Only area to have a drink in after 9.30pm (aside from Capilla bar) is near the lobby - zero atmosphere. Also far away from if you have children and they are playing with others on the grass etc. Food in the graph is social is nice for a buffet, but it is the same every single night! Just a slightly different curry or a different soup - very samey after a few days. We are choosing to go out now for a meal just to give us some variety. Overall very very disappointed with our stay so far! Asked to speak to a manager on the first day and got a front of house staff member - what’s the point?!
Amazing afternoon tea .
The loveliest afternoon tea , very well presented , good size portions, unique flavours.chilled atmosphere, San was very friendly and had great customer service , highly recommend coming here . Is not a rushed feeling . Coffee is delicious. Good selection of food and cakes .
Fantastic family holiday!
We stayed for 6 nights at Hilton Yas Island (7-13 Feb). The hotel is beautiful, bedrooms a good size, bath and shower also separate toilet. We stayed half board, food good and varied at breakfast and dinner, staff always happy, helpful and hardworking - special mention to Mary-Joyce, Sumayya, Sunita, Ni Ni, Jon, Bek, Thet, Rateesh and supervisors - Meena and tall slim male at breakfast (sorry no name). Shuttle to theme parks (Yas Express Y1) worked well.
Yas Islsnd yes! The Hilton hotel yas island NO!
We visited yas island with our family, plus two other families. 12 of us in total. Yas island is great, the yas bus service is easy to use, hop on and off, but just not frequent enough. The taxi drivers refused to take us on small trips and would tend to fob us off, or just walk away, Which can be frustrating. The island itself is still in its infancy and has a lot of work to do to catch up with the likes of Florida. A lot of the big rides were closed for maintenance during the school holidays., again frustrating as our teenagers wanted to ride the fastest roller coaster and one of the reasons we booked. The teams would be checking the rides as we arrived and would have us waiting whilst they checked, then close the ride down, as we are in the que. To me this is a job that’s done before the parks open to the public. Not whilst we are waiting to get on. For me the biggest disappointment was the Hilton Yas Island, the check in desks are chaotic and disorganised, it took us 45 minutes to check in 😳 we woke up one morning to a major flood (ankle deep) and water still flowing in the the ceiling, as it had rained and the lack of drainage within the hotel meant our floor flooded through the night. It was anxiety provoking. We had to miss a day with our friends at sea world whilst we were moved rooms twice. Again disappointed as the park tickets are included in with the price we paid at the hotel. But we missed a full day of fun sorting out wet clothes and another room to stay in. One manager said by way of compensation we can have lunch and dinner on them. Which at the time I thought was very generous. As we ordered our lunch meal, we were informed this doesn’t include the drinks or lunch at the pool bar. We were then told that because I had used the laundry service free of charge that was another form of compensation so therefore we would not be having a complementary dinner. ( I wouldn’t need to use the laundry service, if flooding infrastructure was in place!) in the quick move from room to room, the concierge managed to loose, my daughter medication, all our bathroom products, which arrived over two days after me contacting the front desk, on numerous occasions. The medication was never found! My bracelet also lost and a pair of jeans. The quinoa salad I had for lunch felt like no form of compensation. My husband did inquire about us having access to the executive lounge but we were informed no, as they are full every night, ( they were not, our friends were in there!, lots of room and empty seats) the waiting on staff, cleaners and pool attendants are all lovely and helpful. A shout out to Queen our cleaner such a nice lady! Because of our personal experience and how it was poorly handled I am not going to be returning to this hotel. I would recommend it based on the lovely staff working there.
