Returned last week from 2 amazing weeks at the La Flora resort. From the time we arrived in the resort, to the time we left, we were looked after like kings. The resort is on the beach, and few minutes walk from the centre of Khao Lak, but you would never know you were that close to all the many shops, cafes, restaurants etc, it was so quiet. We were 2 couples in our 60's, and had booked to go in a Flora room, but were upgraded to a Deluxe Poolside room on the 2nd floor, which was a wonderful surprise. Our rooms overlooked the gorgeous river style swimming pool, with palm trees, bridges surrounding it, along with our own swim up poolside bar. the Regina Bar, where the amazing Ron, made the most wonderful cocktails, smoothies etc, always with a lovely smile. The only slight downside to this pool area, was there weren't any parasols for the sunbeds, which meant for part of the day, it was too hot to sit out there. We requested some from reception, but were told they were in short supply, and they never arrived. Our rooms were lovely, very big, with sliding doors that you could open or close to the bathroom/toilet, separate large walk in shower, lovely toiletries, bath robes & slippers, umbrella, beach bag all provided. Plenty of drawers & hanging space, though not many coat hangers provided. There were tea & coffee making facilities, a fridge, with 2 bottles of water provided each day. The main pool was lovely, with plenty of the sun loungers, which were quite close together, so if you wanted one on the end to be able to spread out, or up on the terraced area, you had to be up at silly o clock to grab one. There were notices all around that if the sun beds were unused for more than an hour, the towels and belongings would be removed, but this never happened while we were there. There's a lovely swim up bar here too, the Cave Club, with great staff, and a small area to sit on chairs by the bar, with your feet in the water. Plenty of large pool towels always available around the area too. The main Breeze bar & Sire restaurant are in an idyllic location. You can sit at the table or sofas, with your feet in the sand, watching and listening to the waves gentle lapping on the shore. The staff here are amazing, nothing is too much trouble for them, and the choice of cocktails is wonderful. We chose to go All Inclusive, and despite the fact that is very cheap to eat out, after talking to several guests who were B&B, we considered we had got the best deal. Each night there was a different theme for the food. Meat Feast, Japanese, Thai, Sea Food , Fish, Buffett etc, and we did not have one bad meal. We ate out in the town on 4 occasions, The Green Pepper, The Siam & The Malee which were all great, the most we paid for 4 people to have shared starters, mains and 2/3 drinks each was £60 inc tip! The staff are what really help to make this resort so great, they are so friendly, helpful, and go out of their way to ensure you have the best holiday possible. We have done AI resorts all over the world, and this resort is one of the best we have been to, and we would have no hesitation in returning here, or recommending it to anyone.
This hotel is absolute the best hotel I’ve stayed at. Returned for second time this year. Service, rooms, food, cleaning, spa - everything is excellent! Had the luxury to stay in seaside pool access room🤩 Thank you La Flora see u again! 💖
This was our 2nd time at this hotel which has undergone total renovation since our last stay .The staff were all amazing and always greeted you with a smile . Special thanks to Joe , Vivi and Bob who looked after us at the restaurant they are a credit to the hotel. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and must say that the choice at breakfast was fantastic. Our room was lovely and the bed and pillows so comfortable. The hotels app was brilliant and so easy to use,we used it daily to keep our room topped up with bottles of water ,coffee, etc. The hotel and grounds were kept immaculate by the staff at all times We loved the fire show and also the duo that regularly sang during the evening . I do think that the hotel has lost a little of its authentic tranquil Thai atmosphere since renovation, possibly down to the AI package, attracting some disrespectful loud guests who ignore the rules that the hotel has thoughtfully put in place . Overall, this is a lovely hotel in a great location ...well worth a visit .
Day 2 of 9 and husband and I have decided we live here now. We would normally stay at The Waters but we are celebrating our 25th anniversary so wanted the beachfront views and little extra luxuries and so far are not disappointed. First trip back to Thailand since COVID and the people are as warm and friendly as ever. Resort is fantastic. Restaurant reasonably priced given location. It will be hard come check out day to have to leave.
One of the best I’ve stayed at
I’m staying here for only 3 nights but could stay for a lot longer easily. Lovely staff, super friendly, and this is a 5 star place. Prices kinda reflect that for a swim out room beachfront but still worth it I think. Rooms are maintained very well and a good size. Love it here.
