God ferie

Vi har hatt ei kjempefin uke på Barcelo Fuerteventura. Hotellet er velholdt og veldrevet. Betjeningen er vennllig og effektiv. Vi hadde all inclusive, og måltidene har vært gode og rikelige, med god variasjon på lunsj og middag. Til middag kunne vi tenkt oss kaffe til desserten, men den fikk vi ta i baren etterpå. Bassengområdet er stort, med flere bassenger og gode solforhold. Vi hadde ikke problem med å finne ledig plass, selv etter lunsj. Vi kunne kanskje klart oss uten noen av duene ved bassengbaren. Fra bassengområdet kan du gå ut på strandpromenaden og rett ned på ei bred strand. I vannet er det stein, og det kan være vondt å gå ut ved lavvann. Soloppgangen på strandpromenaden mot øst er en opplevelse.

Golf and holidays

We always stay at the Barcelohotel when we travel and have a holiday, both when we stay for one or several weeks. would always be easier then, then I think the service is always top notch, you notice that you are in a better hotel. Sinserley Claes.N

Fantastic hotel made even better by the staff

I've been to 5* hotels that were not as nice as this. The hotel is in a great location, on one side is the beach and on the other is the shopping/ restaurant/bar area. It's a 10 minute 13€ taxi ride from the airport. The hotel itself is really modern and spotless, both inside and outside around the pool area. The restaurant is well spaced out, the service is excellent and the food is also really good. I traveled with my daughter aged 9 and since it's off season there weren't many kids around, but the fitness and animation teams made the holiday. We both participated in activities such as SUP yoga, aqua spinning, paddle tennis, mini golf, petanca, etc... all free of charge when done with the activities teams. It's a great way to meet other guests and always good fun. Special mention to Hugo, Gosia and Jade for making her more than welcome at every activity and throughout the stay.

No late check out accommodated with a 6 month old baby

Edited to say, I wrote my review one day too early… things have changed massively since then. We requested a late check out because we have a 6 month old baby. You are only allowed to ask for late check out the day beforehand. I am unsure how it is decided who gets this “privelidge” as apparently there was a huge waiting list despite me being at reception at 8:30 to request one. I have been at reception a total of 6 times since I have arrived to request a late check out. And every time they tell me it is not possible and to come back later… the most recent visit, I was told our room had been reassigned so the room needed to be ready by 3pm. I asked could I have the room until 2pm. They said no. I asked could we be given another room, since the hotel was not full. They said come back at 10am!! How many times do you need to ask for the same thing??? There are no facilities for a baby, for us to use and the hotel is by no means full!! They have 462 rooms in this place. They just won’t honour an extra 3.5 hours in our room. This is absolutely crazy that a hotel cannot accommodate a very young family. Our flight is not until 7pm. Today will be absolute hell waiting around with a small baby, trying to live out of a suitcase and working around naps. What seemed like the perfect first family holiday has now ended with a bitter taste in our mouths. Hugely disappointed ending!!!!

Beautiful grounds, great staff, overpriced.

Stayed here from Dec 26-Jan 10, 2022 to celebrate a birthday, Kings Day and another special occasion in my family. Very expensive but they advertised “all inclusive” with spa treatments on site. We paid $300+ for the stay which was supposed to include breakfast and dinner. But water at every meal was charged to the room. Tea and coffee (when they had the pods) charged to the room. They have mini golf on site but it’s €6 per person, as is paddle ball. Want to lay on the beach? €20 for 2 lounges and an umbrella. Obviously, all drinks not included. Not even water. Not even in the room. The extra premium price for the exclusive high end Buffett - not worth it! And the seating int th back is restricted at dinner even to those who paid for the upgrade. The worst of it was they asked for payment in advance and only then advised me that the spa was temporarily closed due to COVid. It is still advertised as being available and it was advertised in all the documents and maps they offered as we checked in and AFTER we paid. I will say I brought it to the attention of management after I tried to make and was denied an appointment to the spa, and the director of the Barcelo was attentive and made a concession. That’s the downside. And they are short staffed and one can feel it. The upside: the newly renovated grounds are BEAUTIFUL! Impeccably maintained, every inch neat as a pin. The beach is beautiful! The front pool is heated. And the activities classes (literally the only thing we were not made to pay extra for) were fun. (Note: the activities were only offered during the latter half of our stay. The first portion we never saw a single “animation personal” employee. It sounds like cartoonists but it’s meant to be “pep squad”) My daughter and I did aquatic cycling, yoga on the green, Pilates on the beach, mini trampolining, all led by Gosha by coincidence. Gosha was EXCEPTIONAL! Very enthusiastic, funny, entertaining and energetic! She was a real pleasure. In the dining hall, I have to say that Yecemi (sp?) and Luis Ignacio were kind and accommodating and very much interested in making it a wonderful experience for us. We had to get COVid tests done for return flight and they rotate at the different local hotels. We had to go to the Barcelo Castillo just at the other end of the beach and the reception staff there is out of this world, especially Kamila and Rebecca. Truly hospitable and eager to please! In the end, I would definitely go back and stay there if I was ever in Fuerteventura! And I would definitely take any class Gosha had to offer.
