With a little Tweaking it would get 5/5
Reception is very welcoming with Gonzalez and Alfonso being very helpful. The comfortable room I had was looking out at the back up to the mountains, nice and cool after a day of sun and quiet apart from binmen visiting at the ungodly hour of 6.30am! Every day! Breakfast is on the rooftop and a lovely clean open area, excellent choice with fresh orange juice maker. Swimming pool area very nice, pool was warm by the afternoon, plenty of loungers on 2 levels. Bar on the rooftop also very good but sometimes had to wait to be served as was ignored for about 10 mins☹️. Samuel was the best barman though, friendly and quick. Dinner.... pretty awful. Down in the dark basement area, no air or light coming in through very high windows. Food is not fresh, tepid not hot and either dried up or swimming in something so you can't see it properly. We decided to eat out after the same food most evenings. The service from Miriam was very efficient and friendly. Overall it is a very good hotel just some fresh cooked food and perhaps dining on the rooftop where breakfast is would help.
A great hotel but don't go 'all inclusive'
A fab location so ask for a sea view room. However, rooms at the back of the hotel have views of spectacular mountains and are so quiet. Ample, easy parking and a few strides to the beach front. Rooms are a good size and have everything that you could want from this grade of hotel. A fridge which only has water on arrival. A balcony with a table, 2 chairs and a retractable wahing line. Tip ..... bring pegs as the island can be windy. Daily room service is generous with towels but bring your own hair conditioner. Lovely staff especially on reception also Samuel and Marion who speak good English. Pool, with towels supplied in the room, and loungers with umbrellas. A glass partition ensures that you have a good view of the sea. A roof top breakfast means that that you have a good view. Freshly squeezed orange juice and an omelette station. Fizz too! The only thing that could be improved at breakfast would be fresh coffee and not machine hot drinks. I do not recommend that you eat at the rooftop cafe .... very disappointing. So, referring back to my title, the only aspect which drags this hotel down is the evening meal. The dining room is a below street level, biege box with green potted plants around the edge. The food (dinner) is below standard. A very limited salad bar or soup which looks unappetising. Main course is awful. Tepid, badly cooked, frozen veg, and I could continue. So eat out folks!
Very Relaxing
We stayed at this hotel for 10 days and were very pleased with our stay. It is a 3* hotel and facilities reflect the grading. We booked via booking.com and received a mountain view room which we were very happy with. It was a very comfortable room with excellent facilities BUT, we would have liked a kettle and coffee making facilities. We opted for the half board as the price was cheap and were pleased with what was offered. It was a pleasure to eat breakfast on the 3rd floor overlooking the sea every morning and the food offered was of a good variety. Dinner was something that we looked forward to. We always enjoyed the salad options which were plentiful as well as the different main courses that were different every day. I particularly enjoyed the pork cheeks which were very tender. Breakfast starts at 8am BUT buses from Valle Gran Rey leave at 8am and the next bus isn't until 12pm. However, if you speak to hotel reception, they will make a note and you can go to breakfast at 7.00am. Not everything will be available but enough to eat and then get out for the early bus. Special shout out to Adela, Miriam and Alexandra who always had a friendly smile and chat with us either at breakfast or dinner. Lovely people! We would stay here again with no hesitation.
Everything top
Probably the best place to be in the Valle. You have breakfast on the third-floor terrace, you relax and swim on the rooftop pool, you can enjoy a very good and incredibly varied buffet dinner at an unbeatable price, you can go for a swim in the sea just in front of the hotel. And the room with seaview and balcony is very nice, the service is good and very friendly... What else do you need to have a good holiday?
