Recaptured the Magic and Beauty of My Favourite Holiday Destination.
This is my second holiday in Sivota, but my first one staying at the Sivota Diamond Spa Resort. I can honestly say, myself and my girlfriend had a lovely time. So much so that I felt quite sad leaving on the day of departure. It completely recaptured the beauty and magic of my first visit to what is now my favourite holiday destination. We were welcomed as soon as we entered through the doors, and experienced brilliant service and kindness from all the staff throughout our week away here. They couldn’t do enough for you. The restaurant had a lot on offer at breakfast time, although I must admit, the food at dinner time was pretty much the same throughout the week, but was still really good. It was my girlfriends Birthday in the middle of our holiday so we ate at the A La Carte Restaurant upstairs that night which was superb, and was treated to some magnificent views overlooking the Aegean during a full moon. Evening entertainment is fairly minimal, with live music on a Wednesday and Saturday only, but we were quite happy to sit at the bar with a cocktail or a wander through the town. It is situated on top of the hill overlooking the town so a taxi is recommended if uphill walking isn’t for you. It is pretty central to everything though including the beautiful Bella Vraka Beach which is just a 10-minute walk away. The pools were all very clean. Cleaned every day in fact. We used them regularly throughout our stay. We loved the waterfalls! I could write a whole essay on why the Sivota Diamond Spa Resort is the place to stay while in Sivota, but this is just a few points on why it’s given us a holiday to remember. If anyone at the Diamond Spa Resort is reading this, thank you very much! Already looking at booking for next year.
Immaculate hotel in a lovely town
We stayed B&B for a week in early August and had a lovely time. This is a review of our experiences of the hotel and the surrounding area. The hotel is built high up, so when walking back from the town, expect to be out of puff when you arrive. It’s only a 10 minute walk though, and the high position means you get a great view over the Med. It is a challenge if you’re not very active, especially in 35 degree heat. We paid a bit extra for a room with a view and it was well worth it. The rooms were immaculate and cleaned briefly every day with new towels, floor and bathroom washed, bins emptied and beds made. The air con was a relief after the hot walk back and we kept it on for most of the time we were there. There are 3 pools, including an infinity pool which was pretty cool. Not too busy either. There was plenty of choice for the self service breakfast; pastries, cereal, cake (?) bread, cheese, ham, fruit, omelette, yoghurts, sausage, egg and bacon. Lots of different breads (but not gluten free. I did ask, but it never came. I asked at reception and they assured me they stocked it, but I gave up. I think it must have been lost in translation) The staff were excellent. Really friendly, especially at the reception. Poolside service was always quick. A large beer was €5 (similar to the town) and a wine €6 (but cheaper in town). Complimentary towels are provided at reception if you fancy a day by the pool. Just give them your room number. The hotel restaurant was on the first floor and had a amazing view over the bay, but we chose to eat in town every evening. The west facing harbour area is lovely, especially when the sun sets and there are plenty of restaurants, bars and yachts. It was a great place to people watch. Our favourite restaurant was O Faros. Good value and good quality food. The owner knows his stuff and was very keen to show me the difference between the farmed fish and the catch of the day in his fridges when I nipped inside to pay at the end. There are a couple of beaches within walking distance of the hotel. They were busy but clean. We took a taxi boat around the islands (with a 1970s Kieth Richards lookalike as our skipper) and stopped off at the blue lagoon beach. Lovely, but small and very busy. Around a third of the beach was in the shade all day (which was fine for me because it was scorchio while we were there). The taxi boats came back every hour to pick people up. We hired canoes one day and a pedalo the other - this allowed us to have a nosey at some of the fancy yachts that dropped anchor every day. Overall this was a great place to stay for a week and I fully recommend it.
