Ferie august 2016
Skriver en anmeldelse som er gjort i vår ferie august 2016. Ved ankomsten til hotellet opplever vi rommet som særdeles skittent. Vi hadde joggesko og hvite sokker på når vi ankom. Vi tok av sko, satte fra oss koffertene på rommet mens vi top på shorts og lettere skotøy etter reisen. Vi skulle gå top lunch siden den var åpen. Vi oppdaget da at vi måtte ha tråkket på noe, men begge var like møkkete på sokkene våre. De skulle skifte håndkle hver dag, når vi la håndklærne ned på gulvet om morningen hengte det skittne håndklær på krokene på badet. Vi skulle få påfyll av vin hver dag i minibaren. De var ikke øl, men det viste vi om. Nå etter 3 dager har de ikke fylt på en gang. I dag fant vi skitne vaskefiller på skohyllen vår. Den var våt og møkkete. Det var lite delikat. Når vi booker et 5 stjerners Hotel forventer vi en standard der etter. Dette hotellet fortjener ikke mer enn 3 stjerner. Ja de har hårføner og tøfler, men det hjelper lite når du må ta på sko når du går inn på rommet.! Anbefaler alle til å sjekke gulvet med en sokk, eller et dopapir med vann på. Tror mange blir overrasket over et særdeles dårlig rengjort rom. Anbefale ikke dette hotellet til noen! PS! Vi var innom Akti Beach som ligger ved siden av. Det er samme kjede, og har 4 stjerner. De har en mye hyggeligere atmosfære, mer og bedre mat. Lykke til med ferien, men spar pengene til et annet hotell!!! Leif Bile der for en 5 x 5 cm flekk på gulvet.

Dette er det verste og det beste hotellet vi har besøkt, jeg skal ta de tingene som er viktig for oss som reiste med en ti åring. Starter med det positive- veldig god mat, god service og godt renhold av rommene. Så det dårlige- skittent basseng(vår datter fikk øre infeksjon) og dårlig renhold av området rundt, steinete strand og vanskelig å komme ut i vannet, i Ving sin katalog som er svært misvisende står det at det er en av de fineste strendene på Kos med sand og noe stein, dette er helt feil og var for oss meget skuffende, videre vil jeg si at hotellet ikke er helt ferdig med manglende rekkverk over alt, (min kone tråkket ved et uhell utfor en 40 cm høy kant og slo seg stygt) det finnes faktisk ikke et eneste rekkverk i felles områdene på hele hotellet(som jeg så). Har du barn som har lyst å henge med andre er dette ikke hotellet for deg, første uken var det bare russere og andre uken nesten bare engelskmenn. Jeg skjønner ikke at Ving og Startour kan ha dette hotellet i sin portifølge for skandinaver. Det meste var myntet og tekstet på russisk og jeg så ikke en eneste Ving vert eller noe informasjon oppslått av Ving. Faktisk måtte vi ringe Ving for å få avreisetidspunkt, for dette var det ikke informert om i den svenske avreise permen, da jeg ringte og trykket for norsk, fikk jeg en dansk vert i andre enden. Uteområdene er ikke ferdig beplantet og blir vannet med noe kloakk liknende vann som lukter helt forferdelig, dette er også et problem i restauranten. Ving opplyser at det er tre restauranter en kan bruke i tillegg til buffét tilbudet, ja men en sannhet med modifikasjoner, for de sier ingenting om du ikke kan bestille fra meny, nei alle får de samme rettene til samme tid, du må spise det du får og barna havner i buffet restauranten. Jeg kunne fortsatt men nå er det nok, må spare litt til Ving også.
Akti palace 13/10/2023
Booked a last minute holiday for myself and partner to get away for a week: reasonable deal with the all inclusive. Hotel was lovely. When we arrived, we were supposed to have a sea view; I wouldn’t class it as a sea view as you could only see it slightly from side so maybe needs advertising as mountain/side sea view to avoid dissapointment. Bed extremely comfy and very good air conditioning. Maids were thorough and room was spacious. Pool area was okay, although we tended to stay on beach as was quieter and more relaxing. Staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Drinks were great but food very basic. We only used the hotel for drinks as we like to venture out in evenings for proper Greek cuisine. Asian restaurant was ok. Minibar was restocked every time we used anything. Special thanks to the lovely waitress named Alexia who was always so friendly and attentive in the evenings and you could tell she loved her job. Overall a lovely hotel but probably wouldn’t stay again due to food not being great and very repetitive.
Such a memorable stay
We have just returned from our holiday at Akti Palace, and despite being on a 12 night stay, we didn’t want to leave! We had a super friendly welcome at reception, and we were told our room had been upgraded - a truly unexpected surprise. Thank you Akti Palace for arranging this. We met Alexia at the bar for our first cocktail, and she went above and beyond by learning our names, and Alexia continued to provide outstanding customer service for the duration of our holiday. The main buffet restaurant was small compared to larger resorts I have stayed in, but the food quality was good, and other than a few key staples which made an appearance everyday, I felt they had a good variety of food and we didn’t get at all bored. We spaced out our meals at the Fish, Greek and Asian restaurant, and really enjoyed all of these too. The Fish and Greek restaurant had a more classic longer eating experience as expected with tasting menus, whereas the Asian was a much shorter meal. Mateo served us at both the Fish and Greek, as well as at the snack bar by the pool (which has the most amazing gyros!) and was outstanding at looking after us during our stay. We made use of the bar and restaurant facilities at Akti Beach hotel too. Their buffet restaurant is extremely busy, even out of season, but they do have a larger selection, including a really nice Asian counter which included sushi. We are big cocktail drinkers, and found the pre-made cocktails nice. A couple of the cocktails are made to order, so we opted for those when we fancied something stronger! Christos and Alexandros were exceptional behind the bar, and made the effort to get to know us. The sea was lovely, but please be aware of very slippery rocks when getting in. Water shoes would be sensible, although the sandbags laid down by the hotel help a lot. We snorkelled, and used the free pedalos and kayaks. We were at Akti Palace out of season, so there was ample sun beds to spare. My only criticism with this hotel was the pool temperature - it was freezing! There was a full animation schedule at Akti Beach which Akti Palace guests could access, as well as evening entertainment in their theatre. Akti Palace had music entertainment in the bar each night, but no other activities during the day. Location wise, there is a good supermarket just next to Akti Beach, but not anything else near the hotel. We used the free shuttle bus to Kardamena a lot. It was always very punctual, and picks up from Akti Palace before Akti Beach so we always had a seat. We booked a sunset trip to Zia (€15pp), which was lovely. I would advise you plan to have dinner whilst there, as there are lovely Greek tavernas. We also booked a 3 Bay Cruise with Harriets in Kardamena, it was €25pp including a BBQ lunch. This was a highlight of our holiday, and would really recommend to those who like swimming/snorkelling. Definitely wait and book any day trips in town, rather than through Jet2 - it’s much cheaper and you’re all on the same boat! They will also pick you up from the hotel without charge. Overall, we would be absolutely delighted to stay at Akti Palace again. It provided the perfect relaxing holiday for us, but it was the personal touches from staff here that really made it such a memorable stay.
Chill Family Week In The Sun ☀️
Brilliant week in a beautiful location, ok so this isn’t a 5 star but neither are the prices. If you are looking for a clean, friendly, intimate place to relax with your loved ones this hotel is perfect. The food is basic, the theme restaurants were a little strange but the food is fresh, tasty and there is plenty of choice. We are used to 5 star Turkey hotels, but then we pay 3x as much, and this time we just wanted a week away, doing nothing, just chilling and enjoying each others company, instead of a plethora of restaurants and flashy cocktails. A chill week is exactly what we got - low key entertainment, an amazing beach (we love snorkelling), a relaxed pool with no loud music and tasty, fresh Greek food. The staff were extremely kind and attentive. A special thanks to Alexa and Nicholas at the bar, who looked after us every night (Disaronno and coke was our family drink - yes the cocktails are pre-made and a bit meh but just drink something else!). We went out of season and at some points we felt that we had the hotel to ourselves, no fighting for a sunbed in the morning, it reminded me of a private villa resort. Would I come in high season? - probably not, I can imagine it wouldn’t be as relaxing or chill, but for some out of season sun it was perfect. We were very lucky with the weather too 28degrees most days. There is always room for improvement - the wine served in the buffet restaurant was vile! However other times such as when we were served a bottle in the themed restaurants it was very palatable, not sure if they used different brands in different bars. The orange juice at breakfast was also not great, really concentrated and sweet, perhaps that could be improved. But overall beautiful surroundings and rooms (even though in places the hotel was looking tired, after 6months of heavy wear and tear that’s to be expected) and we were all really sad to leave - 2 adults, 2 teenagers and a 12 year old, this hotel catered for us all. We also fell a little bit in love with Kos and want to explore further, so I’m sure we’ll be back. Huge thank you to all the staff, who have worked tirelessly all season and now really deserve their winter break and respite. Yamas!!
