Paradise in Corfu

This place is perfect. From the moment we arrived the experience was superb. We were greeted with cold water and towels to help refresh as we checked in. We were taken in a golf cart type buggy to our room after being shown around the site as well as being told what was around locally. We had a 2 bedroom Corfiot unit for the 3 of us with our own small pool. The rooms were large and the beds comfortable. The bathroom was superb with everything well laid out and all you could need. Shower was the best ever - I would love my bathroom at home to be as good as this. Everything was clean. Welcome water and wine and fruit platter for us. I am on crutches with limited mobility and had advised them of this so they gave us a room closer to the main restaurant, pool and beach area - but still quiet and private. No more than 100m walk to the above. All flat. If we wanted to get up to the parking and main reception we could call for the golf cart. If you have anccessibility issues this would be the best pace - not sure re fully wheelchair anccessible byt good for people like me with limited mobility. Our rooms had bathroom towels and pool towels. When we went to the beach there were loads of lounges and more towels, it was perfect sitting on the beach and ordering cocktails. Beach was a little mix of sand and shingle but plenty of walkways to make access easy. Breakfast was different to all other places we have been and we loved it. Lots of the usual bakeries, eggs, cereals etc but menu items were always a little different so was a great change and as well as the normal items there was always something new each day to try. Service was impeccable. Along a quiet road from the suites there were local tavernas and shops, bakeries and supermarket so everything in reach. This place was paradise and I would thoroughly recommend it.

much ado about nothing

Very designed hotel with very friendly service but many details aren't logic. The hotel is built like a village. The reception, a very spacy area is at the entrance to the village with a nice view over the village & the sea but the fitness room is at the basement under the reception area, very small, limited in the possibilities & without view - big mistake to my opinion. A public road is crossing the hotel village. The breakfast system is uncoordinated - there is a buffet but in addition to the buffet there is a menu for dishes that you have to order from the waiters. It seems that design is before convenience & practical.

Magical time to relax

Readers of my reviews will no doubt realise i say it how it is ,honesty is the best policy ,plane arrived at corfu airport which is very small ,had organised a transfer glad we did as taxi queue was quite long ,we had prepaid so it was a fixed price ,Corfu itself is rather run down and shabby the aftermath of covid with so many businesses closed down ,the drive to the hotel is about 40 mins and follows the beach road ,the hotel at first glance is modern and impressive with staff almost trying too hard to please ,your shown to a table by the porters where you check in offered a local drink and some cold flannels then you board the buggy which transfers you to your accommodation, unfortunately the junior suite is more appropriate to be called a standard room ,the view is over the complex not really a garden view as suggested in the adverts ,the room is functional with all mod cons if a little on the small side the bigger rooms are the Iodian suites but these come at a high cost ,the restaurant is only a short walk from your room where an elegant young lady greets you with a big smile and shows you to a table if there is one free !the breakfast serving does get busy so choose your time we found about ten was good when its not that busy ,a good selection awaits you with a choice of cooked breakfast delights from the menu this is not an adults only hotel as your lead to believe with family’s and their young children in tow ,fortunately we didn’t encounter screaming kids on our break but i gather other travellers weren’t so lucky ,one would imagine during high season it is manic .the pool bar is set by the beach open till late serving drinks and light meals but be warned it is expensive compared to the other bars only a short distance from the hotel and surprisingly only serves a beer called Sceptem ! On draught ,When every other bar has the national beer methos ! You are somewhat pestered every few minutes by the staff who are keen to sell you drinks from the bar which can be quite annoying at times ,The sun beds are on a first come first served service and what surprised me was the hotel allow other guests to use them for a fee ,which opens up the debate about the wrong calibre of people can be sat right next to you when your trying to get some r and r .there are several restaurants all in walking distance of the hotel but it advisable to book as they get very busy and again during peak season its very busy indeed ,try Kostas traditional taverna always happy staff and all fresh food ,to be honest we didn’t have a bad meal wherever we went prices are much the same but further out of the town prices are cheaper ,we found a great bar by the sea a short walk from the hotel boochas bar run by George and tanya ,very reasonable prices cocktails a variety of drinks and always a pleasure to sit and have a drink late early evening watching the waves crash on the shore ,tanya also feeds the local stray cats that are about every day so we left a donation for there wellbeing on our last night ,there are lots of things to see and visit in Corfu but we choose just to relax by the sea and pool which is great later on in the day when all the kids have gone back to there rooms ! There are a number shops /supermarkets a short distance from the complex where you can get most things ,Word of warning we must have gone in mosquitoe season as we both got bitten my wife severely even with anti repellent spray on ,the wasps are also an irritant ,all in all it is a majestic hotel with many positives the staff are all pleasant and accommodating if a little over enthusiastic at times

Unforgettable experience

Everything was immaculate and the suite, the location, the view, the staff and the amenities were all excellent. From the warm welcome at reception to the best service from all the members of the staff that went beyond their way to exceed expectations and show pride in their work. 10/10

Impeccable.... I liked it so much...

Nestled within the heart of elegance, a beacon of gastronomic delight awaits everybody in Flya Restaurant, ensconced within the opulent confines of Olivar Suites. This ethereal amalgamation of sublime flavors and flawless service coalesces to form a culinary utopia, achieving nothing short of perfection. Upon entering the restaurant, one is immediately entranced by the exuberant ambiance, which marries sophistication with intimacy. The understated opulence of the decor exudes a timeless allure, offering a backdrop that complements the gastronomic journey about to unfold. As the attentive staff guided us through the gastronomic adventure, our taste buds embarked on an extraordinary odyssey. The menu, a testament to culinary artistry, featured an array of carefully curated dishes that epitomize the epitome of gastronomic excellence. Each dish, meticulously crafted with the finest ingredients, showcased a harmonious fusion of flavors, textures, and colors, resulting in an unforgettable sensory experience. The chef's prowess was evident in every bite, with every dish presenting an artistic masterpiece that transcended the ordinary. From the succulent and tender cuts of the main course to the exquisite desserts that danced on the palate, each plate was a celebration of culinary brilliance. In addition to the exquisite fare, the service was a symphony of attentiveness and professionalism. The staff, well-versed in the nuances of fine dining, anticipated our every need and guided us through the menu with grace and expertise. Their recommendations were nothing short of impeccable, further enhancing our dining pleasure. To be honest it was one of the finest Restaurant I have been. I really thought that it should have at least one "michelin" star...
