We stayed here 9 nights all inclusive for our postponed honeymoon and it truly was paradise. As soon as we arrived it felt so tranquil and relaxed. The food is excellent with a huge variety of choice at the main restaurant alone alongside the three other restaurants - spoilt for choice! There are many pools and the cove to relax and sunbathe by with plenty of loungers and seats available. We did the rum tasting, glass bottom boat and the 20 minute spa treatment included and went to book a further treatment at the spa which was very relaxing. The staff here are amazing, nothing was too much to ask and all so friendly and welcoming. We would definitely recommend this hotel - the best hotel we have ever stayed in.
Paradise by name, Paradise by nature
Paradise Cove is a literal breath of fresh air. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave the staff can’t do enough for you. If you ask for something a little special or out of the ordinary then they’ll do their best to accommodate your request. I wanted to buy a Go Pro 10 Black as we’d booked a trip to swim with wild Dolphins and I wanted to capture it. I had no idea where to start as there were next to no electronics shops nearby. So I asked the incredible and inimitable Amadee who is in charged of the room reservations and in a heartbeat he was making calls. He asked me where I’d be in an hour and he said he’d find out how I might get my hands on this GoPro. In an hour as promised he found me and tracked one down in an electronics shop an hour’s drive away from the hotel. We booked a taxi for a day trip and we headed to this shop on the way to visit the South of the island. As promised Amadee had reserved it and made sure I knew exactly who I needed to speak to. Everything went seamlessly and I ended up with amazing underwater footage of the dolphins. This type of help is just a mere glimpse of how everyone at the hotel wants to help make your stay extraordinary and they deliver. The food is AMAZING especially and particularly in XO the sushi restaurant and Peninsula. So we booked these most days with the odd visit to the dining room buffet which was still very good. In XO we were served by Shubham and Kavish. An impressive double act with a mission to make sure you have the most delectable sushi experience. My wife and I asked for fresh coconut water which we wanted to drink fresh from the coconut but this wasn’t actually on the menu. Shubham said that he’d find a way of getting us two coconuts next time we visited the restaurant which was two days later. Two days later we recieved just that and it was delicious. Almost everyday we did lunch at the Peninsula. The staff shined here. On the first day we met Sangeeta who always smiled from ear to ear so it was always a joy to see her. Look out for Chand aka Jackie Chan who was always on top of our order. I don’t do dairy but some of the dairy based meals available were so damn good I asked if they could somehow provide a non-dairy version. No problem he said, we’ll make it happen. The presentation of the plates especially at the Peninsula was pure art and it tasted as good as it looked. VED also served us at both the Peninsula and the Dining room and presented sparkling water like it was Dom Perignon champagne. He was always so pleasant and attentive and on the detail which goes a long way in my view. We were impressed. Rajesh was always delightful and Samuel always served us with a step in his stride. A very cool chap. Keshav was just starting at the Paradise Cove but his pleasant and friendly attitude was already noticeable. In the dining room we had dinner for my wife’s birthday and was served by Visam who brought my wife a gluten free cake (yes I know we’re not easy) and made the eveing very special. He was always smiling, had a glint in his eye and couldn’t ever do enough for the customers. I can go on and on and will credit more staff towards the end of this review but you get the idea. There are bike rides you can join or you can equally just take one of the bikes and go exploring which I did and loved it. There are some gorgeous beaches nearby with crystal clear water. Get a taxi and explore the island. We recommend climbing Mount Le Morne. Speak to Mary at the boathouse who is so lovely and she will take care of the catamaran trip which we enjoyed so much. You go to nearby islands and it’s a great way to meet other likeminded couples. We snorkelled, hung out on a far away paradise island and ate like royalty on the boat. I would have liked the option to have Prosecco/Champagne on the boat but I should have asked in all honesty. Paradise Cove has some decent water sport activities you can do from paddle boarding to learning how to windsurf and is complimentary. They also take you out in the glass bottom boat at 2:00pm everyday for snorkelling. They provide the equipment and this is worth doing. A couple we met learned how to kite surf in the neighbouring bay which cost around £600 for ten sessions I believe. But anyway you get the idea. You’ll never get bored of this place. It’s boutique yet large enough to get lost in lots of beautiful hidden spots. It’s so private and safe and just a dreamy place to kick back and fully relax. The rooms are sublime and so quiet. No thin walls just utter tranquility, amazing beds, large TV etc etc. Even the gardens have been pulled straight out of Eden due to the amazing work of Veeren their resident flower artist who prepares petal arrangements every morning. So there you have it. You want Paradise then it’s in the name. You won’t regret the stay and we’ll definitely be back. Thank you also to: Deepti - Who was always sweet and pleasant and whose name means light Sandyha - incredible elegant lady who alway pulled a few strings for us. She’s delightful. Sanjeet - for always smiling genuinely and assisting us whenever possible. Melina was very kind and helpful at reception who sorted our lunch for when we went in our day trips. Tulsi - Amazing bar manager and cheeky chappy who made awesome cocktails - He does a great ‘old fashioned’ and also gave me a towel when I needed it without hesitation. You normally have to take your room towels but I forgot. Pooja - Was fantastic and so helpful in the Dining Room Rajeev - second head chef at the Peninsula always delivering incredible cuisine consistently. Vemarsh at reception is such a lovely person who always wants to help make your stay the best it can be. Thank you to all the kitchen staff for your amazing efforts. 👏 You all made our holiday so unforgettable for the right reasons.
Truly a paradise!
My husband and I have just returned from Paradise Cove on our honeymoon and wow - what a place! From reading all the reviews previously, I was concerned I’d be let down by how perfect everyone had made it out to be, but it was all we could have hoped for and more. Our stand out feature was the quality of the food. Everything from breakfast, snack bars, lunch at Peninsula to all restaurants were absolutely exquisite. A few favourites of ours included the meat platter at the Peninsula and the curries on both the Indian and Mauritian themed nights in the main restaurant. It’s worth noting that the service is sometimes quite slow when ordering a la carte, as they cook everything fresh - but it’s absolutely worth it when it arrives. We had a meal at The Cove on our last night as part of the honeymoon package and the high-end quality of this food was next to any five star restaurant. The quality of the drinks was also great with a good list of wines included in all-inclusive package, and some really delicious cocktails. There’s lots to do at the hotel as well for those who don’t wish to just sunbathe. We played tennis, table tennis, board games, darts, pool, and visited the boathouse a few times. We went out on the pedalo and glass bottom boat, but unfortunately it was too windy for us to be able to paddleboard or kayak as we would’ve liked. We also used the boathouse to book a dolphin catamaran cruise on the West coast which was a fantastic day out and highly recommend. All staff we encountered were attentive and pleasant, but we’d like to give a special mention to Manoj at the Peninsula bar. He spoke to us many times at our spot at the Peninsula and he was always a lovely and friendly face to see every morning, and he remembered our frequent drink orders too. He’s a credit to your staff! Some notes for others which are handy to know before you go - firstly, the rooms use EU plugs, so make sure to bring an adapter if from UK. Secondly, beach towels are provided and changed fresh every day, so need to pack those with you.
A dream come true!
My husband and I finally made it to Paradise Cove for our honeymoon on our 4th attempt (Covid got in our way the first 3 times!), and it was absolutely worth the almost 2 year wait. When we arrived, we were incredibly lucky to be upgraded to the senior suite, which was, without doubt, the best room we have ever stayed in. We stayed in another suite in another five star hotel on the island during our trip, and it had nothing on this! I’m actually planning on decorating my living room in the same style because it was so beautiful and timeless. The swing seats on the terrace were our favourite place to end a day of sunbathing as the sun disappeared. However, the beauty of the hotel and its setting is outshone by the unbelievable service. Every staff member we encountered whether they were maintaining the lawns, waiters or bartenders, cleaners or spa therapists - everyone was so unbelievably friendly, warm, welcoming and genuinely couldn’t do enough for you to make your stay the best it can be. We were also blown away by the offerings in the all inclusive plus package. We were able to book into the peninsula restaurant a few nights and the food there was fantastic as well as the beautiful views across the ocean. It was so intimate and calm. We even saw whales and some giant turtles from our table! There was no need to pay extra as the all inclusive options were fantastic enough. The head chef came around at the end of the night to introduce himself and see if everything was ok with our food which was a lovely touch. We were even surprised with a cake on our anniversary which was delicious and so thoughtful. The buffet restaurant was also really intimate which we loved. The waiters were so attentive and the food was of top class restaurant standard - we were beyond impressed. It didn’t feel like a buffet restaurant in the slightest! With drinks, we paid extra for a local specialty vanilla rum after one of our meals in the buffet restaurant at the recommendation of our waiter and it didn’t disappoint! And that was the only drink we paid extra for during our entire stay, it’s 100% worth going all inclusive. I could post a thousand reasons to make Paradise Cove your hotel of choice when planning a trip to Mauritius, but the attentiveness of the staff sets this hotel apart from any other we’ve ever been to. Everyone wished us a happy anniversary without us even mentioning it was anniversary! How amazing is that?! We could not recommend Paradise Cove highly enough. We’ve told all of our friends if they go to Mauritius to stay here. We actually moved to another five star resort after Paradise Cove and we regretted it - it was a lovely hotel, but the people have made Paradise Cove one of a kind. It’s such a special place, we have the best memories of our honeymoon here, and we cannot wait to come back. Thank you to everyone at Paradise Cove for making our honeymoon in Mauritius everything we were dreaming of and more.
