We had the clams Crostini, Cesto Di Pane, Orecchiette Pasta Al Forno, Paccher Al Tartiffo, and Branzino. All wonderful! It was not crowded, the staff was very attentive and we simply had a great dinner.
Worst 5 star hotel I’ve ever stayed in
I’ve been to plenty of 5 star hotels, and sadly this has been the worst I’ve ever stayed in. They have a very small indoor and outdoor pools, which you cannot see through photos, since they just show them from an angle where they seem bigger. The room is very expensive compared to what you get, for example just 30 ml of Shampoo. I guess even on a Ibis hotel you get more shampoo and soap than at “Le Meridien”. Also, I bought a “couple’s special” package consisting in some chocolates and a cocktail upon arrival, at the official hotel website. When we arrived, no one knew the package existed, and we were told 3 times we “had to pay to access any liquor” (???). I felt so mistreated, since no one was willing to care about what I was requesting. Later, they found out we actually did pay for it, but the waitress informed us that we only had “7.5€ credit, and nothing in the menu is that cheap”. How can that be possible if the package was 40€? Was it cheaper to just buy a drink at the bar, instead of falling for the marketing of the website? I felt robbed and mistreated, which is not a cute feeling when you are at a “luxury 5 star hotel”. The breakfast is also not amazing, although it has a selection of everything. The worse part for me was the coffee, which tasted awful. The room goes for 850€ a night in the summer, and I absolutely can tell you it is not worth it to stay here. Just avoid this hotel.
Beautiful resort hotel with excellent staff.
Beautiful hotel with wonderful facilities. Staff are SUPER, friendly, helpful, patient. The outdoor and indoor pools are wonderful as is its own beach. Rooms are very big- we had 3x rooms for Our family of 6 people. All rooms were excellent. The hotel has a great bar lounge area. Overall a brilliant family stay.
Nice Hotel and Extremely Crowded in the Summer
We just exited a weeklong yacht trip and enjoyed this beautiful hotel in Split. We had a lower room which was nice, but it had a wall blocking the view. The pool area is so crowded in the summer and it was very difficult finding a place to sit near the pool. In fact, I really wasn't near any of the pools! Getting food in the bar area takes quite a while and but once it arrives it is good. The breakfast buffet is immense, but get in early to beat the crowds. The concierge was fabulous. She found a private driver for us to go visit Bosnia on our way to Dubrovnik. He was great and we enjoyed our time.
Nice resort hotel with great facilities
This is a large resort hotel located in a beautiful marina setting with some super yachts and nice beaches (albeit very stony). The hotel has some great facilities, including tennis courts, indoor & outdoor pools and spa. The gym is large and airy with a very decent array of equipment. Our check-in experience was great as we were upgraded - given our Platinum status - to a recently refurbished premium room/junior suite with a large balcony overlooking the bay. The hotel has several bars and restaurants which we tried during our stay. We especially liked the Gooshter beach bar for a quick lunchtime snack. There's even a sport bar/pub located at the front of the hotel. Do remember to bring your beach shoes as all the beaches are largely shingle based. There is a roped off swimming area which was calm and safe. One issue we found was that the beach table service was very slow. Probably the biggest dilemma is the hotel's location. There is not a huge amount of nightlife in Podstrana so getting into Split is a must. This could take between 20-30 minutes depending on traffic conditions. This said, we found Uber worked very well and was very cheap at times. We would definitely recommend this resort hotel if you don't mind being outside of the city.
