Beautiful hotel in stunning location
Stunning place. On arrival we thought ho no to many steps and big cases to carry, but the hotel show you to your rooms and bring your case up to you. We booked sea view room absolutely stunning view big balcony and spacious rooms. Bathroom dated but wasn't a problem. Very clean 👌 fridge with drink and snacks in although you do have to pay for these. Rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels. Coffee tea and kettle. 2 pools one adults if you like quiet. Breakfast ok although I'm fussy with food abroad I always found something and you can request fried eggs or a omelette. Staff very friendly, 2 bars and very relaxing places to site. We walked down into molivos although the hotel has a free shuttle bus to take you down. The walk is about 20 minutes. Taxi up is 7 euros or you can take the free shuttle bus. Iron's also available on request at no charge, safe in rooms no charge. Free WiFi that works brilliant. All in all it's a perfect hotel would definitely book again. Not good for people with walking disability due to lots of steps.
Great staff. Hotel 3* at best
Arrived home from Sunrise on 31st July and there are positives and negatives. First the positives. The food around the pool at lunch was amazing as were the staff there Vadia, Kleo, Diana, Panos and Stefanos the chef. They worked so hard and were so friendly they made the holiday. The negatives. The room's were dated and many are alleviated needing to walk up loads of steps to access them so if you have mobility issues ask foe a room on the lower level, but the views are breathtaking higher up. The food at night was OK but not brilliant and nothing was labeled so you didn't know what you were eating. My husband likes his cooked breakfast on holiday and this Breakfast was basic, scrambled eggs (with flies on them) hotdog sausages, cooked ham no beans. I noticed a sign tucked away after being there 3 days saying you could ssk for fried eggs or omelette to be cooked on request so i did ask and was told this couldn't be done until after 8am but breakfast opened at 7.30am. Also available was continental and of course Greek yoghurt (which was lovely). Also be aware that you have to pay a 10€ a night government tax on leaving the hotel. Also the tansfer from and to the airport is 2 and a quarter hours so be aware of this. There is no entertainment at night except once a week a Greek musician in the outside bar but another positive is the Barman (sorry did get his name) and Stallias the waiter was lovely and very informative about the Islands. Finally the island itself is very beautiful and unspoilt and we will return but not to this area or hotel.
Not worth 4 stars.
Not ideal to have a peaceful stay. Full of kids jumping/diving in the pool. My nerves and mental well being was in tatters. Our original hotel was cancelled so we had to make do with this one. Not happy to share our r and r time with kids and a wedding that disrupted our stay.
Lovely hotel, poor location.
Firstly the rooms are lovely but be prepared for steep steps up to some of them. Very clean and comfy beds and our room had a beautiful balcony and view. The location of the hotel is away from the town (shuttle bus provided 4 times a day) but not a casual walk there and back. No local amenities either and most importantly NO beach anywhere close. The pool areas are really nice too, well kept and clean as are all the public areas - spotless. Some of the staff - namely Ivania (sorry if the spelling is wrong), Elene and Edison were all super helpful. Food was mediocre and could be slow to be replenished. It is a lovely place if you don't want anything else.
Peaceful
If you really want to get away from your busy life then this is the place to switch off! Very peaceful location and hotel. Very little traffic or other noises. Hotel approximately midway between Molivos town and the stoney beaches/geothermal spa bath of Eftalou. 45-60 minutes walk either way depending on heat , fitness and sightseeing stops. There is a very nice traditional taverna close to the thermal bath if you need a rest after soaking in the very hot water! Only the old (Byzantine?) free pool is currently available, not the ones in the newer building which has been closed for a few years. Hotel is on a steep incline so not too good for those with mobility issues. Staff very helpful with luggage to rooms! I would say hotel suitable for moderately fit adults but not really a resort for 'active' children. It would make a very good 'adults only' hotel if it chose to rebrand. Hotel staff extremely polite, helpful and friendly. Hotel offers several minibus rides into Molyvos during the day. Overall I felt very relaxed, rested and fitter after 2 weeks stay with plenty of walking in pollution-free air, good food, good views and nice sea-view room. Room had safe, kettle, coffee/tea/water restocked daily for small fee. Towels and bedsheets changed daily. Staff speak english very well. We didn't but several guests appeared to have car or scooter hire for exploring. Probably too hot from May to September for hiking/biking unless young and fit but the area has maps of suitable routes. Also appears popular with 'birders'. Be aware that the beaches further along at Eftalou past the thermal bath and also at the southern end of Molivos are mainly used by nudists.
