A perfect Greek holiday
After travelling to different islands over the past 20 years, we made an exception and returned to Leros and Saraya Resort. Once again the hospitality and service was excellent from all the team, with Manos ensuring we had the best time on our holiday and Zena looking after us in the evening. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped. The pool area and garden is beautiful, with plenty of room at all times, in fact it feels like you're in your own private villa. Ability to hire e-bikes on site is a great advantage and all you need to reach every part of this stunning island. Leros is still a small Greek community, not built just to satisfy tourists - Saraya is perfect and continues that tradition. We may not return again next year, but we will be back in the future and would recommend to anyone wanting a taste of true Greek friendship and hospitality.
Great view, spacious room
Set back from the beaten path and a short walk from the beach, this little resort is set up around a cute patio and pool area. Staff is very friendly and the studios are spacious and bright. The kitchenette offers all you might need. Balconies offers a superb view, but a privacy screen in between would make them even better. Alinda has a narrow beach front, plenty restaurants, a few stores etc all within walking distance.
Lovely relaxing holiday
We stayed for 12 nights at Saraya with bed and breakfast. Our room tucked away in a nice quiet corner and the balcony was mostly facing the pool/pool bar/rest of the hotel & mountains, but we did have a nice view of the sea/castle on one side as well. The room itself was perfectly fine, it was a room that would have slept 3 (a single bed and a large double) but there was only 2 of us so we didn’t use the single. The room was cleaned every day. It had a small kitchenette with a hob/fridge/kettle & utensils. The bathroom was a little small but not a major issue, the shower actually had hot water and reasonable pressure which is a novelty in our experience of Greece! The breakfast was lovely, lots of variety with cooked options (different types of eggs) and continental options. There was usually fresh bread, pies & pastries, as well as fruit, yoghurt, cereals, cheeses etc. Myself and my partner are both vegetarians and we didn’t have any issue at all with the food. My personal favourite was the small dishes of rice pudding & cinnamon which I think was homemade - very nice and comforting! There was also some fresh sponge cakes (sometimes warm!) which we both enjoyed. The pool was lovely and quiet most of the time which was perfect for us - we only spent a couple of full days at the pool (we are mostly beach goers) and on those days it was very relaxing. The pool area (and the hotel in general) was very well maintained and clean, and the gardens/plants/flowers in the grounds were really beautiful. The staff at the pool bar were always really friendly and pleasant. The hotel hosted a barbecue and traditional live music night during our stay - we didn’t attend (barbecues are not usually suitable for vegetarians unfortunately) but we did see and hear some of the live music from our balcony later in the evening and it sounded fantastic along with some info from the musician about the local music traditions etc. The location of the hotel is very convenient - the beach and tavernas are only a 10 minute walk away. A bus stops a little further along the main road, perhaps a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel at most. Thank you for a lovely relaxing holiday!
Chilled holiday
Spent 2 weeks at this hotel, from the cleaners to the bar staff, couldn't fault anyone, always a pleasant "kalimera" in the morning,Manos the main man, always on hand to advise and help.Such a nice friendly hotel, As in previous review a few rules concerning the pool, no diving, no jumping, no lilos, and pool opens at 10.30am, a little late .would definitely stay again.bar served snacks during the day, drink the wine and a little meze suddenly appears at your table,,,
Mixed review
Accommodation is ideally placed, 10 minutes walk downhill to the resort. Lots of parking available if you hire a car. Lovely clean pool area just a shame you can’t use the pool till 10.30am. Room we were allocated was basic, beds very hard and uncomfortable.
