Never Again – Awful Service

I’ve stayed in many hotels over the years but never experienced anything as disappointing as this one. On arrival at 11:30 p.m., we couldn’t even get water. Throughout the stay the staff were consistently rude, unhelpful and gave no information about the hotel or its facilities — and nothing was provided in English. We were given just three coat hangers and told no more were available. We had no instructions for the safe until someone came to reset it on the second day. We had to ask multiple times about the coat hangers and the safe. Staff were supposed to inform us of our airport transfer but we received no communication at all. Every time we asked questions, staff giggled amongst themselves, making us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. One male staff member even picked up our towels with two fingers as if they were toxic waste. The food was repetitive, cold and bland every day, and the dining room staff were equally unwelcoming. We were told via Instagram messages before arriving that all drinks were included in the all-inclusive package, but on arrival we discovered drinks (even water) were only free until 10 p.m. after which they were chargeable. When we went to the bar to pay for a nice coffee or cocktail, we were refused service despite offering to buy the drinks. The hotel advertises two pools including a rooftop pool — but the rooftop pool costs €10 per person per day. Even then it was locked up at 10 a.m. despite us having paid; we had to go find a staff member at 10:30 to open it. The main pool is in a shaded courtyard so only gets sun for a few hours. Even the beach staff were rude. On departure day we had to check out at 11 a.m. but weren’t allowed lunch or facilities until our 5 p.m. pickup, and we were told our first day counted from the day we arrived despite arriving close to midnight. The only positives were that the room was clean and the bed comfortable. This hotel left me in tears on the fourth day due to the poor service, lack of information and cold beige food. Do yourself a favour and do not book this hotel.

Amazing vacation at Durres Bay Hotel

It was an awesome stay at the Durrës Bay Hotel full of activities and a beach right next to it. The hotel is new and modern. All aspects were awesome and i would definitely recommend this and would come back again. This was the only hotel in the area with a beach bar. We had the All Inclusive package so getting drinks throughout the day was not a problem. Plenty of Beach umbrellas and chairs for everyone. They have an awesome buffet where the food is top class and represent Albanian food perfectly, combined with Mediterranean cuisine. Staff was awesome, they all speak multiple languages. Not to mention, they have a pool on ground level and in the rooftop too! Room Service was also perfect, taking care of room cleansiness, and much more! Family friendly resort and very safe. Free parking on site. Highly recommended and definitely coming back again. It was a relaxing stay for our young family.
