Lovely hotel
My Mykonos is a great hotel not far from the centre of town. We had a junior pool suite which was lovely, beds were comfy and the room was clean with lovely decor. The only thing missing was a couple of sun loungers on our terrace as it was quite a big space and it would have been good to relax by our pool, but when we asked, we were told the sun loungers only come with the suite, also a couple of extra towels in our room, to use for our pool would have been nice. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice, the pool area was also nice though not always easy to get a lounger as it was busy. Location wise it’s a 10 minute walk to the centre of Mykonos town, though the hill is very steep, so not for the faint hearted! There’s a supermarket and gelato on the doorstep of the hotel and a couple of nice restaurants if you don’t want to brave the hill every night.
GREAT SERVICE but please stop STARING
Absolutely amazing staff who are always willing to help (even if it’s 1am and you’ve ran out of water). The lady at reception was so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was actually quite nice. Really fab hotel would 100% recommend. Only downside is that the breakfast staff tend to stare a lot and it made me feel kind of uncomfortable.
Great stay once again My Mykonos hotel
This is our second stay at the hotel … and we had a really super time . We rarely visit anywhere twice !! The hotel staff are super especially “Andreas in the restaurant area and bar” .. what a guy always with a smile and can’t do enough for everyone …hope he’s here next year !!! And the reception staff were superb . Rooms were good we upgraded to the villa this time -again fab. Housekeeping so friendly and accommodating once again faultless ! I’ve read various reviews .below . yes it’s perched on the hill ( great views ) they don’t hide the fact it’s above the town so yes it’s a walk down to town everyone should know this .. if you ask for a lift to town you can have a private transfer 35 ish but ask for a local taxi 15/20 euros ..you just need to wait but enjoy the view doing so … We walked down most days and taxi back we never waited ever more 5 mins both ways .. hardly an issue .. The size and space of the hotel and pool is more than triple what you would get in the town so it depends what you want from a holiday and if you like space .. The loungers are comfy so we’re the rooms and beds .., We can’t really fault the place you can pick fault with anything and everything if you’re mindful but overall I would recommend .. Locally near the hotel the restaurants are cheaper than the town we mixed it up and the hotel is opposite a supermarket .. if you want any recommendations happy to help .. Mykonos is a special place we flew to santarini first then came over on the speed catamaran 2 hrs easy .. again island hopping is so easy even with a family
Nice stay with a few drawbacks
Lovely hotel and the staff were mostly great, we didn’t have a very good check in experience, when the lady had completed the check in I felt like I still had a lot of questions about the hotel. I didn’t receive the promised welcome drink when I arrived and because I was there before the standard check in time of 3pm I didn’t feel the reception were particularly welcoming. The location of the hotel was a let down, although it is only a 10/15 walk it is down a very very steep hill and in the heat was very difficult coming back to the hotel. Local transfer was charged at €40 from the hotel, so if you have mobility issues I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The hotel could maybe look at other options for their guests such as a complimentary mini bus drop off. The room was really lovely, very minimal and we had some lovely service at breakfast and around the pool bar! Overall good but a few things that let the hotel down.
Fab hotel but location not ideal
My husband and I stayed in the My Mykonos hotel for 10 nights recently and overall we found the hotel itself to be excellent. We had a superior double room with sea/town view which was a great size. Our thoughts on the pros and cons on the visit/ Pros - Hotel was fantastic, very modern and very clean with daily room cleaning - Pool are was fantastic, always beds and no rush in the morning for them with unlimited access to towels and waiter service round the pool. - Service of the staff was fab! Always friendly and helpful, special shout out to Andreas he was such a great guy and couldn’t do enough for you! - Breakfast was great, plenty of choice, food was always fresh and you could order omelettes go order and iced lattes etc which was something we hadn’t seen in many other Greek hotels we’ve stayed. - Food at the restaurant was nice. Expensive if you wanted just lunch at the pool etc but we soon discovered the portions of many of the dishes were very big so you didn’t need to order as much. Cons - location, whilst we knew that the hotel was a 10/15 min walk to town and read it was a steep hill the walk was much more difficult than we anticipated. We’re both fit and do a lot of walking but in the heat it was hard especially coming back up. Which wasn’t ideal after a meal or night out in town. The walk also involves a busy road which at times took a long time to cross safely. Private taxis were €35 euro each way so very expensive if you were going into town most evenings which we did (as limited bars/restaurants nearby) local taxis were few and far between, 32 on the island we were told, so couldn’t rely on these. We did get one one evening which was only €10 but had to queue and wait for almost 25 min for it. One consideration may be for the hotel to consider putting on some transport for guests (chargeable but cheaper than the private transfers) as we have experienced this in other hitels in Greece and Italy where the hotels weren’t as central as others and it was a great service. - only other con was on day of leaving we had a late flight and there was nowhere available for us ti freshen up before we left. There was an outdoor shower (at the pool) and a toilet but wasn’t great to get ready to leave. Appreciate its peak season and rooms were full but I’ve never stayed in a hotel where there hasn’t been at least access to an indoor shower/changing area for guest. Overall despite the location we had a fabulous stay and the hotel itself I would recommend, the staff were great and service outstanding but location would be a consideration if we were to return.
