Fint hotell i naturskjønne omgivelser
Et kjempefint hotell i fine omgivelser. En imøtekommende og service innstilt stab. Middag og frokost var ypperlig. Her var det også god Wi Fi. Dette er et hotell som godt kan anbefales, vi hadde ihvertfall et veldig trivelig opphold.
Herlig hotell i landlige omgivelser
Bodde her kun en natt, men satte pris på utsikten ved bassengområdet med fin hage. Rommet var stort med en god altan og alt var rent. Frokostbuffeten var virkelig bra med eget kjølerom til de varene som trengte dette og vi kunne også sitte ute å spise - noe vi setter stor pris på. Baren med med underholdning var behagelig med levende musikk. WiFi var temmelig tregt, så det må de nok forbedre

Veldig fint hotell! Flott basseng område med fin utsikt og bar. Stort rom, med god plass på badet (pent og rent, men noe slitt) og balkong. Fliser på gulvet (ikke vegg til vegg teppe) og a/c. Veldig bra buffet, både til middag og frokost. De hadde eget kjølerom med desserter, ost, frukt og sjokolade.
Herlig hotell med vennlig personale
Overnattet to dager for å oppleve Kandy og omegn. Supert å bo her om man har sjåfør. Hotellet ligger i nydelige omgivelser og tilbyr god mat både ala carte og fra buffet. Fin størrelse på rom og bad, veldig reint og nydelig såpe på bad. Ok treningsrom, men ikke moderne. Underholdning av flinke gitarister og sangere om kvelden. Litt dårlig internettforbindelse.
Worst cinnamon hotel experience
As We Travel around the world staying at various hotel chains, always took pride in the local hotel chain Cinnamon for doing all they can to be in par with an international chain. But during our stay in Sep, the experience at Cinnamon Citadel was far from being true Cinnamon hospitality. The front office confusions, mixups and lack of genuine interest to understand and serve your customer just made it a horrible stay for my husband, I and then 4months+ baby. I made 2 separate bookings; one DBL FB for two rooms one night and second booking one DBL FB room for two nights for 6 ppl + baby but still they beautifully mixed it up. We arrived in the night and when I specifically asked for the Room with the cot, they gave the key to find out there was no cot in the room. My mom got the room next door which had the cot. We were tired already so we took the room with the cot knowing our separate booking for 2 nights was specifically for the room with cot. Yet, next day morning we returned to the room after BF to see my moms room was cleaned up but not ours. We got a call from reception asking what time we checkout whilst we were booked for 2 nights. Since we were told that we could be upgraded to a Deluxe with bathtub if possible we were unsure if that was the reason our room was not cleaned up. I called the reception to inform this mixup and clarify but they said hold on for a second and never called me back so no body bothered to call and clear up where it went wrong. After all this drama a person from front office called on my mobile around 12:45 and said they are confused of our booking so I repeated all above and told him that we are in the room with the cot which is what we booked for 2 nights. Then he apologized for the mistake and said we will be upgraded but can use the room until our Deluxe will be ready since those guests were checking out late. I thanked and told to inform once it’s ready. Since they confirmed we are being upgraded we prepared the bags since we had so much to pack with the little ones stuff. My husband even checked around 3:30 and they said it wasn’t ready. The only reason we were keen on the upgrade was the bath tub which would’ve been convenient for the baby bathtime but around 4:30 we gave up the idea of waiting and had to unpack our bags. until we left to the temple of tooth around 4:30 not even an update from reception. Whilst we were at the temple I got 4 missed calls from same person between 5:35-5:37. I returned at 6:20 and he called me back at 7pm to say we can move to the room. We were still out of the hotel returning from the temple and it was too late for us to prepare for a room transfer with a fussy and tired baby so we refused the deluxe and said it’s too late now. That’s when they started throwing all the freebies such as late checkouts, in room dining etc etc which we did not want. When we returned to the hotel they were trying to make it up with so many gestures Such as making way for parking, cuttle fish dishes(I’m a vegetarian), free drinks etc which we refused. The worst of throwing freebies was that the person in the restaurant came and said GM told me to offer these to you are you sure you don’t want. This is a clear showcase of not understanding your customer. We requested a room with a bathtub if possible only to make it easy to wash the baby but we weren’t interested in freebies. But instead of identifying your customer profile it was totally uncalled for to offer things that weren’t helping. End result of this entire saga was that we had to sleep in a room that wasn’t cleaned up or sanitized for the second night. This was disappointing and sad as we had our little one too but by then we had chosen to not waste time making any requests. We’ve been to all the Cinnamon hotels except Blu but never had such a disappointing experience. At the time of booking through the Cinnamon website it mentions both superior and deluxe to have showers but not bath tubs. As the room size and amenities weren’t significantly different I went with superior. If the website clearly stated deluxe comes with the tub I could’ve booked at such an insignificant price difference. Whilst making the booking I mentioned in the request section to provide a room with tub of available. I also gave a call to the hotel prior to arriving and they mentioned deluxe comes with the tub. I explained that the deluxe in the website doesn’t Mention the tub which is the reason why I didn’t book it and also made a kind request to put a note to see if they can accommodate my request to give me a deluxe. We would have been perfectly ok and understanding if the upgrade wasn’t possible but the way it was handled was the worst of all. However I must also say that staff were helpful to my grand mother who was 80+ years and comparatively, restaurant staff and service was better. But this will be our first and last time at Citadel for a stay. However this won’t stop us from going to our other favorite Cinnamon properties.
