The location and views from this hotel were amazing - looking right onto the beach and only 2 min walk to the beach. The pools were amazing and the staff were incredible. Would highly recommend staying here. The only thing was from our room the noise from the elevator woke us up early when people started using them in the morning because we were right beside it on the top floor but other than that it was perfect. Apartments cleaned every day. Spa treatments and facilities were brilliant.
October Half Term - Nice hotel, good location
My family and I stayed here the last week in October. It was clearly quieter at the hotel (and the resort - some restaurants were already closing), but we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is nice - great to have inclusive Spa facilities. It's very close to a beach - a few restaurants 10-15 minutes walk in either direction (towards Muro or the Port), though not much "right on the doorstep". It would be a long walk to Port d'Alcudia itself - we had a car, but you would probably want a taxi or bus if going out to eat every evening. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on the food, but everything else was clean and efficient. Pool area was quiet - no need to "reserve" a lounger - though as it was later in the year the trees cast a lot of shade. Only downside was our room was right by the lifts - and the noise was awful (sounded like metal was banging against metal) - however they didn't seem to get used through the night so didn't really disturb us so I didn't seek a room change. The vantage from the room, in the corner overlooking the pool and stage, was nice - we could enjoy the entertainment on the comfort of our balcony. We would return to the hotel - for the price it has a lot going for it - and at the risk of repeating myself, having on-site Spa facilities was great to enable a relaxing holiday and a welcome break from the four walls at home!
Friendly staff with bonus heated outdoor pool
We stayed in the Ivory Playa in the last week of October. The weather was getting cooler, so the larger outdoor swimming pool was pretty cold and only a few hardy souls used it. Luckily, the second pool was heated and we spent a lot of time in it. It is quite deep, however, so it is not suitable for young children on their own who aren't proficient in swimming. There are both hot and cold outdoor showers beside the pool. We booked a sea and pool view room on an upper floor, and our apartment was clean and light-filled. We had a very late flight on our last day and decided to book another apartment to hang out in as our apartment was booked by another guest. We went for the cheapest one available, on the first floor and facing the road. It was pretty dismal compared to the hight up pool view apartment - dark and with a lot of road noise. If at all possible, book a pool/sea view apartment - it's worth the extra money. The staff were so friendly, and our 8 year old daughter loved the entertainment team, even though there was a slimmed-down programme for the time of year. There were a lot of Halloween decorations around and about - they even dyed the pool red!
Terrible food. Cigarette smell in room.
Smell of cigarette smoke in the room. Terrible buffet food. Cyclist breakfast for 312 was half hearted. Reception staff were efficient and friendly but restaurant staff more worried about ticking you off their list than actually welcoming you. Much better hotels available at same oeuvre point.
Excellent hotel close to beach with friendly efficient staff always willing to help. Have been returning to this hotel for 12 years and will continue to do so. We are welcomed back each year and are first name terms with many of the staff. Daily activities and evening entertainment help to make the holiday memorable.
