Don’t book unless pay for room with view!
Can’t fault the hotel itself but when booking it wasn’t clear for me via TUI that if you don’t pay extra for a sea or garden view then you’re left facing the main road and in my case also the petrol station. Not a pleasant view for a balcony! Bring a beach towel or it’s 3 euros a day to rent from the hotel. Also the buses into alcudia were often full (maybe just the bad weather) and didn’t stop. Waited over an hour for a taxi too. Would book something closer to the port or alcudia itself next time
Excellent spotlessly clean hotel
This is a great hotel probably one of the best hotels we have stayed in,we arrived at midday and our room was ready for us which was good. Reception staff nice and helpful too. We stayed on the 2nd floor which had a lovely view of the pool/ sea and we could watch the entertainment on a night from our balcony. Our apartment was spotlessly clean and kept clean on a daily basis whilst we were there...even put us a free bottle of water in the fridge on arrival which was much appreciated! Cleaners work tirersly and deserve a medal for housekeeping. Entertainment was fun throughout the day especially for the kids and night time entertainment was good too.Fantastic location for the beach,2 sunbeds and an umbrella 13 euros, you could reserve these online for a minimum of 4 days costing 52euros or if you turn up early you could get one that's not been reserved and pay as you go.Large supermarket across the road for all your self catering needs, lots of good restaurants to eat out...turn left out of the entrance. Taxi to the port was 7euros. Pool was lovely very clean and lots of sunbeds, people did put towels on early morning but still wasn't a problem getting a bed later in the day if needed.Masks were worn by all the staff in and around the hotel as did guests when inside. Big shout out to the lady called Mercedes who works very hard at the pool bar! Hotel also provided us with information about how to find a location to have our pre flight covid tests,we booked this online it was super easy and cost around 30euros each and was about a 20 minute walk away near the Belle Vue hotel. The Swan bar and restaurant was a great find 👌 my husband and son loved watching all the sport esp.the rugby!! Lots of English grub!! Just want to make one last comment on a previous review made by Paul on the issue he had with someone charging money to his room,we also found this method of payment strange as you could charge your bar bill to any room and just sign and none of the staff checked if the signatures were correct,I think in the future the hotel need to make payments more secure as anyone could sign for it just by saying a random room number. All in all we had another fantastic relaxed time in Alcudia and look forward to visiting again in the future.
Outstanding holiday at a wonderful hotel
I visited the Ivory Playa for 1 week at the end of August/beginning of Sept with my 8 yr old daughter. We shared a 1 bed apartment with a lovely view over the pool area and sea. Room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We didn't try all the amenities (restaurant, spa etc) but the pool and pool bar were great. So family friendly with lots of inflatables etc for the kids to use. But the best part of the hotel was definitely the staff. They worked so hard and long hours to make our stay such a memorable one. The entertainment staff were brilliant with the kids giving them great memories to come home with and me a chance to relax. Couldn't recommend more highly. If I had to fault anything it would just be the location. Whilst it is on a beautiful beach, there weren't an awful lot of restaurants within a reasonable walking distant to try. And some were on the main road rather than a quieter more picturesque location. I'd still return in a heartbeat though.
Good till we checked out
I was going to give this a 5 but because of what happened when we checked out I gave them a 3. We had a great week at Ivory Playa rooms was good and cleaned daily. The entertainment team was nice. We didn't eat there and only drank once as we went out every day and night as there is plenty of places to eat and drink very close by. Not many people in the hotel and plenty of room round the pool in the day, you can not fault this place for its service in these times of travel. Anyway when we checked out. We went down and passed over our safe and room key. Then they gave us a bill for over €10 for something ordered on the room. I explained this was not us as we paid cash for our drinks, I don't think she believed me. She showed me a signature of the person who did this and it clearly was someone putting drinks on someone else room. For this reason we will not return as planned next year, its a shame but I have lost the trust. I know its not there fault but their body language said they didn't believe me.
Lovely family holiday
We spent two weeks at Ivory Playa in August 2021 as a family of four and it was a lovely relaxed break. It was busy but not crowded and you could always find a sunbed at any time of the day. The entertainment team of Simona and Sylvia worked tirelessly throughout and are a credit to the hotel, as are all the staff - cleaning/reception/waiting/bar/chefs etc - all very friendly and helpful. Beach is 2 minutes away and also not too busy. It’s conveniently located with a supermarket over the road. I would def it recommend upgrading to the sea/pool view rooms as the views are amazing!
