Peaceful, beautiful view from luxury suite
I stayed in a luxury suite with private pool for three nights in late May seeking a relaxing central base away from the crowds from which to explore the many beautiful beaches of Zakynthos and was not disappointed. The suite was recently constructed, well appointed and tastefully designed. The private pool was larger than expected, bathed in glorious sunshine from morning til late afternoon and the water temperature was warm enough to comfortably enjoy swimming in May. Although the suites are located a short (5 minute) and easy walk uphill from the main resort building, the staff offer an efficient buggy service for those with mobility requirements or luggage. Finally, all of the staff were so welcoming and helpful - which topped off a wonderful stay!
Excellent service, fantastic view looking at the ionian sea, privacy between suites. Clean and comfort villas. Tasty mediterranean food at restaurant .Nick the maitr and the waiters are fantastic. The room service for breakfast or dinner made our holidays more cosy. Electric car was always available for transportation to suites .Patricia at reception was very professional and helpful. Definitely good value for money. We strongly recommend it!
Absolutely amazing stay!
Myself and my wife decided to go to this hotel as a belated honeymoon, as hen we married 10 years ago our circumstances meant we couldn't at the time. We arrived on May 25th around lunchtime, we booked direct with St John rather than a travel agent, we booked transfers with St John and they were there waiting when we arrived at the airport, we were led to a brand new Mercedes E-Class and driven to St John, our suite wasn't ready as check-in starts from 2pm (local time) so we sat in the bar. First impressions were fantastic, the staff are very polite, Vasilis who always seems to be working kept the bar and buffet area spotless, he also insisted we took a seat and bought our drinks to us. Two o'clock came and we were whisked by electric buggy right to the very top of the hill to the secluded suites, these are set a way back from the family villas and offer a stunning view over Tsilivi and the neighbouring island of Kefalonia, on very clear days you can also see mainland Greece. We were in Suite 110, right at the very end of the block. First impressions of the suite were breathtaking, spotless and very well decorated. There is a super king size bed which was very comfortable, a sofa in the corner and a 'snuggle' area out on the private patio next to the pool. The shower was huge and has a rainfall style shower in the ceiling as well as a handheld shower head. We had no issues with hot water as others have suggested. The pool in cleaned every morning at 8am so make sure your curtains are closed ;-), they also come round again around 9pm to treat the pool with chlorine. Other have said the hotel is in a bad location, I'd have to disagree, it is at the top of a hill but it is only a 5-10 min walk down to the main street through Tsilivi, the fact it is at the top of the hill makes it nice and secluded and incredibly quiet. The walk up the hill on the way back can be a killer especially in the heat, but, there are taxi's and we hired a scooter so the walking was not an issue for us. We booked half board so our breakfast and one other meal were included, we had breakfast and dinner daily and sorted ourselves out for lunch, although you get so much for breakfast lunch was often skipped altogether. The food itself was excellent, very tasty and good sized portions, dinner on the half board basis is a 3 course meal, you always leave feeling stuffed. Others have suggested drinks are pricey in the hotel but again I'd disagree, a large beer (Mythos) was €3.50 (£3.08ish) which is cheaper than the UK, we had cocktails one evening and these were €6 (£5.25) each, I guess if you had them every night it would be expensive. The restaurant is also divided in two so there is a separate over 18's only restaurant for those staying in the suites. Nikos, Mike and Nick who work in the restaurant are very polite and helpful and will go out of their way to make you meal as enjoyable as possible. Overall an incredible holiday with my wife, we loved it so much we are thinking of returning to stay in one of the family villas with our daughters.
Amazing Resort, Stunning Views and Rooms!
We stayed in the new Suites and all I can say is wow! The whole resort is beautiful, the new suites are beautifully decorated and the pool/balcony area is amazing. We had breathtaking views over Tsilivi and over to Kefalonia. The rooms are well kitted out, TV (no English channels really but has Netflix if you can work it out), ironing board and iron, hairdryer, mini shampoo/body wash, towels for loungers, dressing gown and slippers (assume for spa use but given in the room), mini fridge, safe and plenty of mirrors (and full lenth ones). The shower is the best shower we've ever used! Also the bed was extremely comfy we slept amazingly, so much so we nearly missed breakfast a few days! The wifi is super fast good signal, but we were in 101 which was right next to the booster so may be less quality further down. Everywhere was clean and the cleaner visited daily (we turned her away most days as wasn't needed). All the staff were polite and so helpful, especially the lady on reception. Pool gets cleaned daily too! You don't even notice the staff they kind of work around you like fairies! Breakfast was included on our stay and we visited the buffet restaurant daily (8-11am). Such a vast choice of food, all tasted wonderful although sometimes cold. The partner was happy as he got English bacon and hash browns, and I got Egged Bread! The suites restaurant had a good variety of dishes and the food was nice (bit pricier than other but convenient) and the majority of the menu was available for room service also (same price as sit in). Great range of drinks also but again quite pricey! The only negative I could find was the location, wonderful for views but not so nice to walk to/from. The walk into town isn't so bad takes about 10 mins to get to the main street, the walk back is very steep!! We still did it most days/nights unless we had shopping with us then a taxi cost €6. You don't need to worry about the hill with luggage as they have a golf buggy to transfer you around the resort. Most people hire a car to get around, and plenty of parking space at the suites. For those not wanting to eat at the resort every night we found a lovely chinese at the bottom of the steps (Courser) and some great greek restaurants in the town. There is also a supermarket that sells everything you need, if you can't get what you need from the shop at reception. We could only find 2 improvements, 1 - the TV could be bigger as it's so far away from the bed you can hardly see it, 2 - could do with some drawers/shelves to put clothes on. We thoroughly loved our stay and hopefully will return one day!
