Upon arrival in Skopelos we were pleasantly surprised by the picturesque character of the hotel. A small family run business that stands out by the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms. Although situated 7min from the center of town on an island with the best beaches in Greece, it has a beautiful pool area with a great pool bar. Definitely recommended!!
The staff here were so lovely and helped us to plan our days and answer any questions we had. The hotel is a bit of a struggle with a suitcase on the way up, otherwise it is a great location and close to many restaurants and cafes. The rooms were good, very basic but with few sweet touches like the welcome note and honey on arrival, they are also kept nice and clean. The breakfast had a good selection of food, but the juices were very sweet, could do with some fresh juice and maybe a bigger selection of fruit. We got there quite late so the warm food was cold. The pool and pool bar were great. The man at the bar was very helpful and made us some lovely cocktails. Overall, its appearance is a little dated but given that it is not too pricey, it's worth the money. Again, I will stress just how lovely the staff were, they really made it able for us to enjoy our stay so much.
Beautiful room and great breakfast
Pro The room was very nice,I really like the furniture Ac Free wifi Free parking Pool The best part was the breakfast, lots of things to eat, very very good, for sure get the breakfast The stuff was very nice Cons We waited an hour to have the room ready, even if we arrived at 14 when they said to do the check in..that was very bad from their part The bathroom was very old..the shower curtain looked disgusting, the bathtub was very small and uncomfortable to take showers
Incredibly helpful and friendly staff
Hotel on the main ring road of Skopelos town. Fairly long walk down into town if using the road but only about 10 mins if using short cut and steps. Rooms basic but kept clean and tidy by cleaners.Look like pictures on website and in travel brochures. Had efficient and quiet aircon and fridge, also hairdryer close to mirror. Bathroom had been modernised and had a large shower still with curtain but with a slightly built up side so flooding the bathroom as not a problem.Plentiful hot water! Breakfast was plentiful but some food items should have been covered I feel,(some were). There was cereals, yoghurt, fresh and dried fruit, bread, cakes, croissants, meats, cheeses bacon, eggs off various kinds, tea, coffee, tea and fruit juices. More than enough to suit everyone. Breakfast was generally eaten outside on the terrace unless the weather was poor which it was on several occasions. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and an issue that we had in the room was checked and rectified promptly. The pool area was pleasant enough and we didn't have a problem with sunbeds however the weather wasn't the best whilst we were there and we tended to spend the day out so didn't see it at peak times probably. The pool was warm and you need pool shoes to get in the water as steps were hot. There were insects in the pool but I think this is to be expected in Skopelos at this time of year. We did see the pool being cleaned by a pool noo-noo but there was a tide mark round the top of the pool but I am sure this would develop very quickly. Pool bar open for drinks but we didn't use it! Beds were very firm but pillows were good. Would certainly visit again and thank you for a lovely holiday Mike & Michelle
Stayed here for 6 nights, we had a pleasant enough stay but it's probably best to do a pro's and cons list. Pros: -Free air-con which was a nice bonus. -Cheap poolside bar -Free in room safe which was another great bonus. -Friendly staff, especially the young man in the pool bar and the young lady on reception. -Nice spacious balconies -Fridge in room (handy for chilling drinks) -Plenty of sunbeds -Nice pool area -Easy 5-10 minute walk into old town, down a slight incline and not too exhausting walking back. -Excellent value for money. -Free parking if you hire a car onsite off the main road that the hotel is situated on. -2-3 minutes in a taxi from the main port when you arrive on the island. Cons: -Hotel in general is showing it's age and is tired. I think they are slowly working on this. It's a very traditional Greek hotel so you can forgive it but the rooms are overdue some TLC. -The room could had been cleaner on arrival but the next day the maid did a great job in making it spotless. -Beds not the most comfortable, some more comfortable than others. -Skinny bath tub which I found difficult to keep balanced in (and I'm a average 30 year old man) with shower that you have to hold over your head as theres no high up hook to latch it on to. -Breakfast was below average, Juices all so diluted/watered down they tasted of nothing, including the coffee. Breakfast breads uncovered with a few flies flying around. Pasties stale, although we did find most of the other breakfast items ok. Some mornings we ended up eating out for breakfast. No toaster, which would had been useful. I felt that the breakfast lady could had done with some help sometimes from the other staff in clearing plates etc or topping up the buffet as she appeared to be working in her own. -What let down the pool area was the floors could had done with a sweep/clean more often. My white flip flops ended up filthy both top and bottom after a day by the pool. There was days when this wasn't as bad but it could had done with a daily clean. -We had a room almost next to reception and found it noisy with everyone walking past to get to breakfast or as one inconsiderate family found it necessary to drag suitcases past the room at 6am dragging them down the stairs and talking very loudly. If I was to stay again I would insist on a different room. Could we have expressed our concerns to the staff when we was there? Yes but being British we seldom complain unless we really have to. The price we paid we expected some compromises. Would I stay here again? Probably yes but I would try somewhere else first if budget and availability allows. The hotel has great potential and they are working on improving it. Staff really friendly and it is in a great location. Maybe we caught them on a off day. But it was excellent value for money with the price we paid.
