Deilig nytt hotell
Nydelig hotell med moderne og god standard. Drikkeutvalget i all inclusive er veldig bra. Maten i buffeten var lite varierende og generelt sett maten på hele hotellet var bare helt ok. Men total opplevelsen av hotellet var såpass bra at jeg definitivt vil komme tilbake.
A break from covid
We risked a trip away with TUI. (Never one for a package holiday, but right now it seemed like the only way of doing it - fair play to TUI). The hotel was fabulous - clean and covid conscious but you'd barely notice it - i think they got the balance just right. It felt like the virus wasn't even around other than the staff wearing the masks. The staff really made this trip. Their relentless work rate under the 36 degree sun whilst wearing a mask was admirable. Alex who was on the floor in the italian, still stopped for a chat even though he'd just done a double shift. The pool bar guys worked like dogs, i'd perhaps say they need a few more staff to help out as the drinks queue was quite sizable at times. Not wanting to venture out (sadly) we decided to rent a car for just a day to check out the ghost town of rhodes and lindos. Both were great, and the car hire place in the hotel is fantastic. Possibly the only car rental in the world that charges EXACTLY what they say on the tin. $50 will get you a small car for the day - fine. The food quality for the size of hotel they are and the wide range they did was pretty decent. The asian restaurant was a cut above the rest, while the normal restaurant and italian/greek were fine, but i didn't have a meal that blew me away - but i wasn't expecting that here. In essence i wasn't disappointed with anything i ate. I would have liked the cafe area by the ice cream shop to have a bit more variety, they seemed to just do one thing per day, and if you timed it badly you'd just have to go hungry. Often we missed breakfast and i needed this to keep me happy until lunch. Tennis would have been nice to have a matchmaking service. I managed to play once with another guest, but he was actively asking around people. Oh last gripe - on the beach they have these lovely double day beds that no one uses: because you have to pay for them?! Clearly people don't like paying extra for stuff when it's all inclusive. I'd just say let people use them for free, otherwise they are just wasted. Didn't see one person on them the whole time we were there. Needless to say we got back to the UK and went for a negative Covid test - so well done hotel!.
perfect relaxing break!
on arrival on 10th September my husband and I were greated with a smile and glass of champagne! We quickly saw the restaurants got booked quickly just stood in reception for 5 mins so decided to book all 3 one after the other and repeat for our 11 night duration. So straight into food! Best of an all inclusive resort we have been too, even the buffet which is normally not great was wonderful. I would like to see the covid rules stay as staff serve you rather than a free for all. The bookable restaurants are nice but didn't go much on Greek but food is subjective what one likes another doesn't. So we had some issues with waiting for pizza but swiftly resolved. Rooms are lovely but do opt for a swim up room! Pools and sunbeds nice no issues. Tips...books restaurants early as they get booked up fast!, go to reception and hire a car as not much around hotel, go to beach hire a boat for 3 hours for £150 amazing! Also lots of steps around but there are lifts hidden around but not perfect for those with mobility issues. Overall good experience and very much a flop and chill holiday everything is designed to relax you spa, relaxing music, nice food and drink, champagne, pools, views....you will always get a moaning mini but ignore hotel great. If you want a rocking holiday and clubs etc not the hotel for you. Lots of people expect the world for a Tui holiday but also has a lot to do with your attitude! Relax, enjoy and if not happy the reception will fix it. Well done to staff working with covid hotel so clean and staff all in masks in the heat!....ps....Nice touch with White Company products in Bathroom daily and White Company bedding!
Well we all know about Covid 19 and we ended up here by default but what a lucky stroke that was. We had booked to go away for my partners 50 th birthday and the hotel were great. On the morning we got balloons flowers cake strawberries chocolates and champagne. 5 of them led by the excellent Mika in full PPE turned up and sang happy birthday. Thank you! Very very attentive and everything was certainly we can do that leave it too us. Would also recommend it here and we shall go back. Main pool bar open to 1 am service was great so Juliano and Alex who liked chocolate thanks for the great service . Also sorry Pannacottis ? Or Pete don’t call me sir you know what I mean ! At night go the Burgas cousins Ivan and Dimitris and all the other staff thank you. Italian restraint well run by Alex and the attentive Konstantinos or Costa! . The Greek one was good but the Asian one was best. The staff there great and the champers bar oh yes. So go go go
Not my kind of 5* but perfect for right now.
Without question the Mayia was the perfect hotel for right now. The whole hotel was spotless, cleaners always around in public areas, distancing and covid measures evident. The Pros Comfy beds Large rooms (swim up pool was perfect) Friendly staff, especially Kiki who was so welcoming after a long journey. Lots of outdoor space and a variety of places to go within the grounds like the beach or pool bar The all day comfortable restaurant was very good Hotel wasn't full so you could distance easily and, despite other reviews saying differently, our coffee always arrived promptly at breakfast and the bar queues were only a few minutes - in current times hardly anything Great extra touches such as white co toiletries and the beach bag The Cons The food was good but not always amazing. Often things weren't hot. Sometimes things were very over cooked. The Greek restaurant didn't feel terribly authentic and was a real disappointment - the main buffet restaurant had Greek night one evening and that food was far better. I did raise this with the staff, as it's important to give feedback not just a trip advisor review, but it didn't seem to cause concern. Whilst stylish and new the hotel lacks a little heart for me. No Greek touches. No art. All clean lines and white... The music got a bit much, its turned up to 100 for the three times daily aqua exercise and when you are in a swim up room because you want to relax its a bit invasive. If you are hoping to discover Greece and have a luxury holiday then the Mayia isn't for you - it is a 25E taxi each way to Lindos and all you have nearby is other hotels, scrub land and unfinished roads. Whilst I would recommend it right now it's a touch off 5* for me.
