Levi ,

Hyggelig betjening. Renhold hver dag.
Dele store åpne restauranter i mindre avlukker, slik at lydnivået dempes. Tidvis støyete og kaotiske tilstander på restauranter. - Mulighet til å hente drikke(cola, sprite, fanta, vann) selv.

Konseptet all-inclusive...

Thank you for an AMAZING, PERFECT holiday!

5* Facilities. This is a large resort but Golf buggies to take you around, beautifully manicured gardens. The spa facilities & gym are the best we have ever had! The gym itself is small but SO well-equipped. The same goes for the indoor pool 1.4 meters deep, warm, long pool enough to do a length, it also has 4 different Jacuzzi features & an outside section, Perfect! The wet spa has rain showers, Plunge Pool, Steam Room and Sauna. Facilities were available every day and are kept immaculate by the spa staff. 5* staff, from management to bar, animation, restaurant, maids & gardeners all go above & beyond - Elmira& Savvas at Mesogios, Nikos & Maria in Nisos & Ntina in the bar. Tui Rep Sev always happy to stop & chat, a great asset! 5* Animation So talented & friendly,a credit to the resort. Thanks to Kayliegh, Danni, Alice, (Italian) Alice, excellent instuctors, singers, acrobats and dancers, also Harriette beautiful dancer! 5* Restaurants Nisos- best for breakfast but Mesogios served till later, lunch also served here; pizzas were delicious! Satellite area lovely too, lovely fresh salads. As well as themed nights, there are 3 A La Carte restaurants with unrestricted visits. Mythos (Greek) buffet, a brilliant selection of Greek food. The Golden Sun (Chinese) - chinese salad starter & Mongolian main - SO GOOD. Karavi (Italian) excellent service, beautiful rack of lamb.

Before going I’d read mixed reviews, some made me think I’d booked the wrong hotel but so glad I’d stuck with my choice. The hotel is on a larger scale but easy to navigate and they offer a service to get around. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and always something to eat,my favourites are the salads, feta, pizza and puddings. Yes they the hotel doesn’t have a English meal available like at some hotels but it’s catering for internationals and hey” your in Greece”. Different selections to be had at each of the restaurants, Chinese, Italian, Greek, and several other buffet places about the complex. Room was clean and spacious, everything needed, and perfect to relax in. All inclusive drinks range was plentiful and I enjoyed the cocktails as hey why not! Close to the beach and with fabulous sunsets I’d definitely go back with friends and family. Yes men have to wear trouser or jeans in the majority of evening restaurants but it’s good to see, effort to keep a level of standards. Staff very helpful and friendly, always willing to help. We booked are own excursions direct and saved a bomb, shop around as the all do the same options. And if you love cats, Kos will not disappoint as they are everywhere. Missing my own pets at home I loved to fuss them and give them treats. Thank you again Blue Lagoon for a lovely weeks break and most definitely coming back.

Very Enjoyable Family Trip

Run down of my opinions and experience. We stayed for 1 week as a family group during the October-19 half term. Our week was very enjoyable. However we stayed on the final week in the season, which saw fewer guests and less pressure on resort facilities and staff. We each felt this had an influence on the relaxation and enjoyment factor that week. Check-In Painless. I did complete the hotels online form in advance of the trip, perhaps this helped(?) Buffet Foods Plenty of choice, I didn’t go hungry, but there were not too many dishes which were truly tasty. Soups were consistently good (home made broth style of beef, shrimp, chicken etc.) at Nissos. Nissos I found to be better than Mesogios for options. Foods at the water park (gyros and souvlaki) were rather nice. Glad I tried them 👍 No queues, and no seating issues throughout. A la Carte Generally Was better than buffet, but compared to true a la carte restaurant food in the real world, there was no comparison. My opinion, drop the a la carte badge and call them ‘themed restaurants’, this seems more accurate. Crepe / Pancake Station Superb. Consistently good and hit the spot. Cocktails Premixed AI selection was fine. Find one you like and stick with it. Black Russian was my choice. The other option is to pay at an a la carte bar. Tempting but for me defeats the object of going for AI. Sunbeds and Pools Pool was cold but ok on a hot day. Snarky comments or glances thrown by guests who didn’t get the exact beds they hoped for. The poolside is massive and lined with beds, I guess you can’t please everyone. Staff Cleaners, unseen heroes who turn down the beds etc. and refreshed the room each day. Reception, were friendly, efficient and helpful. Waiter / Waitress staff, all those I came across (except 1) were very personable and attentive. The Lagoon Bar daytime staff were absolutely top drawer. The chap who defied this I understand to be the evening manager of the Lagoon Bar(?). He took a visible dislike to one of our party sneering etc. We couldn’t figure out why, they’d had no direct interaction. An oddity but we didn’t let it spoil things. Animation and Shows. Not overly keen on stage shows but went as part of the family group. In doing so it made me appreciate the animation team and their efforts. They were friendly, engaging, always interacting and quite honestly tireless from day to night. They’re a credit to the resort and to the company they work for. So many of them, but a special mention for Tito who was great. Gardens and Grounds Beautiful, lush, green and well looked after. Cats Roaming Not a cat person so didn’t welcome them circling my legs at the dinner table, or curled up on my sunbed towel, after which I had a number of bites appear. As a frequent traveller mosquito bites are familiar to me, these were not. Small note of caution: Watch out for the kittens! Cuddly, super cute, but their mums... not so much. Unaware, I walked too close to a sunbed which they were shaded by, and was greeted with hissing and a full set of teeth on show. Not a problem, but watch out for your little ones who may be curious and want to touch. There were many other facilities we didn’t explore or use. But in summary. Would I return, absolutely. Would I recommend this resort, absolutely. Would I recommend that you choose your week carefully, absolutely.

Late season break

I stayed here with my wife and teenage daughter for the last two weeks of October 2019. It was a late booking due to the Thomas Cook collapse caused another holiday to be cancelled. Hotel - On arrival at midnight we were checked in promptly and directed to the restaurant which was still open and supplying drinks and food to the new arrivals, a nice touch, before being taken to our rooms via electric buggy. The room (3000 block) was new, spacious and well appointed. Comfortable beds, new TV with many English channels and balcony. It appeared to have a very modern air-con unit which was remotely controlled and certainly did the trick during our stay. As it was late in the season there was never a problem getting sunbeds and the loungers were good quality and very comfortable. The pool was, however, freezing. It was amusing to see parents follow there kids into the pool with a sharp wince and a glance back to their partner mouthing "It's bloody freezing". Throughout our stay the temperature was around 30 degrees, so this may have made the pool feel colder than it was, but it certainly took your breath away. It was clean and very large so there was plenty of space, but several of the ladies reported their hair turning green (peroxide mixing with copper in the water) and were forced to try and remedy this with tomato sauce (yes, it works) ,lemons or baking soda. Apparently and "leave in conditioner" works to protect you against this. The hotel had many facilities, Spa, Minimart, many pools, water park, hairdresser and electric buggys to ferry you around. Towels for the pool could be exchanged daily and the lady in the store was possibly the happiest person in the whole hotel. Food- I was not impressed with the food at all. Hot dogs, carrots, broccoli, peas, sweetcorn, roast potatoes all appeared regularly on the breakfast menu. As has been reported on here, the bacon was some sort of spam and the omelettes were pre-prepared and often dried out. Evening food was repetitive and bland. Even the promise of Mexican night disappointed with a few kidney beans chucked into the pasta to provide the offering. Mostly the food was poor quality meats cooked in sauces with pastas, rices and chips. There were a few odd nights when a decent meal could be found, but that was the exception rather than the rule. The Chinese night offered chicken with noodles which seemed to be nothing more that spaghetti in barbecue sauce. There was no snack bar during the day so this left a bit of a gap. If you didn't have lunch by 2.30 pm there was nothing until 6.30 pm when the restaurants opened apart from a pancake station. The Chinese restaurant itself was a godsend. Tasty food and an oasis of solace in an otherwise disappointing offering for a 5* resort. Entertainment- Excellent. Jessica and her animation team filled the days and evenings with a thoroughly professional program. On our first night the evening show was "Lord of the dance" which had me slightly nervous, but my fears were allayed when they delivered and fabulous show and carried on this level throughout the rest of our stay. Greece, Chicago, Lion King, Dirty Dancing etc were all top quality. The team also seemed to have the patience of saints as they always had a smile and a good word for anyone who tapped them on the shoulder from morning til night. Also the hotel staff were also professional and pleasant, they always had a smile and tried to accommodate any request that you had. End of season- Our first week was excellent (bar the food) until the second week started and the hotel all but shut down. The annex closed, taking with it the bars, restaurants and facilities that it had. The entertainment was evicted from the main theater and relocated to a conference room (no bar or windows here). The poolside bar and restaurant closed leading to fury from guests and queues at reception demanding their reinstatement. The did reopen the pool bar from 10 til 6, but this still left the hotel rather quiet later on. The only facilities left open were Nisos (buffet restaurant), Mythos (greek prebooked restaurant) and Ilios bar in reception. The first night these closures happened, they were overwhelmed and 20 minute queues formed of people waiting for tables. On the last day the poolside bar shut with no chance of a reprieve and so as most guests were leaving at around 10pm this caused a few long trudges of guests up to the reception bar just to get a drink of pop. The one welcome offering was that as we were the last guests in the hotel, we were allowed to keep our rooms on until we left at no charge (90 Euros saved there). Although they did cancel our cards twice on the last day which mean more journeys up to reception. Conclusion - The place is great, but was spoiled by the closures in the second week. Theres nothing around it apart from scrubland, but a 2€ bus ride or 8€ taxi took you into Kos town with a good choice of food, shops and even day trips to Turkey (Bodrum) should you want to (about 20€ a person). The food was disappointing and it felt as though they were emptying the stores of what ever they had before they closed.
