Pent område, fine basseng og barnevennlig til tross for noen festglade folk som nok hadde valgt feil hotell.

Maten på all inclusive var en vits. Ingenting var godt - og vi prøvde alle restaurantene. Alt bar preg av masse-produksjon og du følte deg som et dyr ved matingstasjonen. Verdien av en meny og servering ved bordet skal jeg aldri undervurdere igjen. Nei til buffet!

Hyggelig betjening. Renhold hver dag.

Dele store åpne restauranter i mindre avlukker, slik at lydnivået dempes. Tidvis støyete og kaotiske tilstander på restauranter. - Mulighet til å hente drikke(cola, sprite, fanta, vann) selv.

Konseptet all-inclusive...

I den grad du liker støy, køer, overfylte restauranter og bassemgområder, gratis mat, øl og sprit, så er dette sikkert et bra alternativ. Blue Lagoon Resort unngår 1-eren fordi de hadde et bra personell og logistikk, men dette konseptet var ingenting for oss. Vi bytta bosted noen dager før avreise for å kunne slappe av og oppleve gresk atmosfære. Oppholdet bar preg av å leve i ei boble i ingenmannsland. God mat, som også gir ei ekstra stjerne - det skal de ha, men allikevel ikke autentisk gresk.

COVID outbreak waiting to happen

First on COVID. Without COVID failings I would have rated at 3*. The hotel gives the impression that it is COVID secure: Disposable gloves given at the buffet Masks required at buffets Hand sanitiser available at the bars and in reception Staff wear masks pretty much all the time. Greek regulation of closing bars at 12am, removing tea and coffee facilities in rooms have been followed. Despite the aforementioned measures, it seems that there are a few gaping holes in the COVID plan which could easily cause a single case of COVID to spread throughout the hotel: Every alternate pair of sun beds has a sign saying do not use for social distancing but this is universally ignored (there wouldn’t be nearly enough sun beds if this was enforced) No social distancing at the evening show each night- people packed in to the tent like sardines. The waiting staff don’t sanitise between collecting one table’s dirty glasses/plates and bringing another table their drinks. That means in each hour the waiting staff are effectively putting into contact up to 100 guests through touching glasses. There is no sanitiser provided at the tables of the bars or restaurants in the resort to help counter this. I’m completely shocked that TUI have allowed holidays to this resort to continue without these issues being resolved. An outbreak at a hotel this size would effectively kill the industry in Kos until next season at least. Main review: Summary: I personally wouldn’t come back but that’s mainly due to the food, reception staff and little things where they’ve cut corners like not providing bottled water. The resort itself is a nice enough place to be but the idea that it’s 5* is a fallacy. Only the grounds are 5*. As mentioned food at the buffets is generally cold and not very tasty. You won’t go hungry as there is enough choice and always bread/chips/fruit/salad but don’t come expecting food you’d be happy to pay for in a restaurant. The crepe bar by the main pool is a good example of food failings. The crepes are pre made earlier in the day then warmed up when you want one so they’re pretty stodgy compared to a fresh one. Edible but if I was paying I wouldn’t have gone back. The one exception was the pork tenderloin at the Italian, it was delicious. Having said that the pizza was way too cheesy and I don’t know where to start on the cheesecake with tomato chutney. Waiting and bar staff are excellent (just not COVID secure). Reception staff come across as rude and poorly managed....an hour wait to check in yet no apology. The main pool is huge and extremely busy. I’m not a fan of how they have sun beds 7 rows deep. The adults pool is small but nice. The grounds are extremely well maintained. The beach is nice but sharp stones make swim shoes a necessity if you want to move around freely. Beds at the beach are 2.5 euros each per day. Beer and soft drinks provided at the beach FOC. Rooms are clean and seem well maintained (block 4000). We had a family room with 3 single beds in the main room and 2 further single beds in a separate bedroom. Air con in the separate room didn’t work. If you like a bath sheet rather than a small towel in the bathroom then bring your own! Again here it’s a 3/4* room at best with no bedside tables or plug sockets by the beds in the main room, no night lights either. Bath is small and shower over is stupidly places in the corner, no shelf to put soap etc so lots of bending down......again not really an issue but definitely not 5*. Pool towels are provided but you can only change them once a day and at very limited times and it’s a bit hidden where you can do it (like they would rather you didn’t!). Entertainment is almost none existent. There is a show 6 nights a week (like broadway/ Disney etc.) I thought the singing was dreadful until I put my fingers in my ears and blocked out the excess noise. It’s like they’ve never watched their own show back. If they turned the volume down about 25% the sound system (and thus the entertainment team) might not sound as lousy....perhaps this is intentional to stop too many people coming to the show as there Ian only capacity for about half the people here and that’s during COVID.

Beautiful place but a few drawbacks

This resort has beautiful surroundings, gardens and pools and we enjoyed our holiday. The staff in the restaurants were lovely. A particular thank you to Savvas and George in what we affectionately called Mogies outdoor restaurant. The food was generally acceptable but definitely more 3 star than 5 star. It was nice to vary where we ate each day and evening. The food was always lukewarm. The resort is amazing if you have children though food choice a bit more difficult unless they like pizza, bolognese, kebabs and chips. The Aqua park also has burgers, nuggets and gyros etc at lunchtime. The room only had a change of sheets once in 10 days and was never cleaned though we had clean towels each day. We presumed this was to do with COVID. Masks only had to be worn when entering the restaurants and around the buffets and a plastic glove was provided at the entrances to be worn when selecting food which was good. The hotel was very COVID aware. The evening entertainment was more geared to children though the entertainment team were very talented with 2 fabulous singers. The piano bar did not have any entertainment which we were hugely disappointed about as we were looking forward to that for the evenings. I was told that the 2 players/singers were not performing there due to COVID however i considered it would have been perfectly safe for them to do so as the main theatre was in action with the singers and dancers.

Fabulous holiday

Had the most perfect holiday here. Amazing hotel, gorgeous pools, rooms, gardens, restaurants, waterpark. I couldn't fault any point in the 2 weeks. The most excellent part was the staff, every single person was so friendly, especially Stavroula (Illinois bar) and Eve (waterpark snack bar). Our favourite place was the Illinois bar all of the star were exceptional and so friendly, we couldn't have wished for better.

nice hotel with nice beach

Overall this is a large good hotel, some reviews said the bedrooms were dated but ours was fine. no tea/coffee making due to covid ( so we took our own travel kettle) T/he main pool is huge withplenty of loungers round it. We actually spent most days at he beach ( a 5 minute walk) nice sand but does has some pebbles as you walk into the water so take beach shoes. There is a beach bar so drinks part of the all inclusive but you will have to pay 5 euros for 2 loungers and a parasol When we went Sept 2020 because of Covid we had to wear masks when in the restaurants ( not at the tables) The Italian and Chineese did nice meals allevening meals had to be booked via their ap but was easy to do and you could book all meals for the week in one go I would come here again ps we did not see a cloud in our week One of our favorite this on the holiday was a day boat trip to 3 islands and a BBQ meal for 20 euros we booked direct at Kos harbour (8 euro taxi ride away) we booked to go on the Odessey boat a greek Gullet it was really good and they take you to an area where you see loads of dolphins and 3 different places to swim
