remote relaxing holiday
the hotel is very clean rooms are spacious large walk in shower food is well cooked and plentiful only drawback for me was used plates not removed on more than once i had finished my meal and not one of my used plates had been removed . the evening entertainment was very good. wifi is a bit of a hit and miss . but overall i had gone to relax and i was able to it situated on the beach which has beautiful views here are a couple of taverna's a few yards away that also are on the beach front and a mini market at the front of the hotel a few yards away.
Comfortable room with excellent shower and air con based right on a beautiful shingle then sand beach with clear water. Excellent buffet breakfast / lunch/ dinner with lots of choice amd greek options. Yellow beach beds 2 euros and umbrella 2 euros. Green beach beds free. Paying was fine as everyday someone would clear the beachbeds away amd leave it immaculate - worth paying in my opinion. A lovely fresh water pool and a salt water pool with a fabulous inbuilt jaccuzzi. Loved it. Only downside amd why its a '4' and not a '5' for me as for all inclusive - had to get drinks yourself from the bar but attentive and on point waiter service at table if you paid. Waiter would clear tables but not offer drink - that felt poor for me as we had paid too! Bar service good though and enjoyed everything. Great resturant next door ( Andreas House) fab fish amd steak.

Just got back from a fantastic 12 day holiday at Elea Beach Hotel. We enjoyed every minute. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We had a sea view room and the view is to die for. It is truly amazing. The room was large and very clean the towels changed everyday. Food was good and plentyful. It is the second time we have been to this hotel and i was a bit wary as people say you should never go back but we definitely were not disappointed it was just as good. Infact we are booking 2 holidays there next year. Thank you everyone for making our stay a fantastic experience.
Had a lovely 2 weeks here just relaxing
Just arrived back from elea beach hotel for a lovely relaxing holiday. There are some negatives ( which I will point out further in the review.) Check in was quick probably because we were the only the 2 of us checking in from the tui coach! I did request a high floor (mountain view) but was given a first floor key card(160) at reception. I asked if we could change to a high floor but receptionist informed me that the hotel was fully booked until the next day. That was no problem but we could not unpack until the next day. Room 160 faced onto the hotels car park (see photos) and you could not much n the mountains. The room itself was lovely and had a bath with shower inside the bath but it was very slippery inside the bath. We waited until the next day and went to the receptionist. She was helpful and said we could look at the the family rooms that are sea view. We looked around the room but it was even smaller than the room we were in! Twin beds and a bunk bed and the balcony was smaller and not as private. I don’t know how families cope with those rooms to be honest. We waited for a room to be available and got allocated 346 mountain view this is on the top floor. The balcony is over the reception and was better for us as we do spend a lot of time on the balcony in the evenings before evening dinner, listening to our music. The room itself was had twin beds (would have liked a double but there was no option when we booked a year ago with tui!) The bed was comfortable and had two pillows each and they were really soft. There is a kettle and two cardboard cups but no tea or coffee, sugar etc for making hot drinks. I had read about this so we had brought our own cups and tea and coffee so it did not bother us.The fridge was brilliant it even froze the bottled water! Plenty of storage space and shelves for our two week stay. Also lots of hangers to hang your clothes. This room had a walk in shower so I don’t know if this room had been refurbished recently. There was bars of soap on the sink and a soap dispensers on the wall in the shower. There were slippers (didn’t use) and shaving equipment in a basket. There were plenty of sockets around the room to charge your electrical equipment. The shower had plenty of hot water at whatever time of day. The air con was quiet and was easy to work. There is a safe but never used it. Maid cleaned every day with fresh towels. You get beach towels from reception for 1 Euro per day. Other reviewers who stayed in the mountain view rooms state that it is noisy because of the coaches that drop people off at reception but it did not bother us. Yes there are coaches entering the hotel but it is not every 5 minutes. Thee are mainly around 5ish in the afternoon which is when people are coming back from trips etc. I never heard any in the middle of the night for example. Yes there was some noise from a nearby campsite but it was mostly children playing football and music playing from a cafe but can’t say it disturb us. We did see some young people with togas on going down the road to the beach but they were not noisy so I don’t know what other reviewers were complaining about to be honest. I loved the mountain view rooms and feel that they were more quiet than the sea view as they have the noise of the entertainment on at night. In our opinion sea view rooms are not worth the money. We had gone all inclusive so our sun beds were in with the price but had to pay for the umbrella at 2 euros. We didn’t really need the umbrella as by the sea there was a breeze, so after a few days we didn’t get one. It maybe different in the height of the season though. You have get the chairs from near the quiet pool and you have to take them to wherever you want to sit. I think if you cannot manage this though I think they will help you with the chairs. The beach is pebbles but a few metres in it is sand. They have made a walk into the sea but it is slippery. I am not very agile but it is quite easy to get in and out of the sea but it is advisable to bring sea-shoes. The water is lovely and clear and once in warm. There are 3 pools. A activity pool, quiet pool and a children’s pool. We sat mostly at the quiet pool with the jacuzzi which is temperamental to get on. Steps to get in it but some of are big steps so be wary! There are big umbrellas situated here so no need to get an umbrella and it was never very busy. The activity pool is larger and there is a grassy area to put your sun beds. Never really sat around there. There is entertainment throughout the day if you wish to take part by one man! He did aqua, stretching, darts and boules. There is a shop inside the hotel selling snacks, drinks etc. We bought a few items there and they were not expensive. We went to Corfu town several occasions. The cheapest way is by bus the number 7. You catch out on the main road and costs 1.70 euros one way. You can tickets at the hotel shop or there is a ticket machine at the bus stop. We were going to go by taxi the second time but the receptionist said it would cost us 40 euros one way! Corfu town was lovely though and it is worth going for the marina and the shops but everything is more expensive here due the cruise ships sailing into the harbour, The hotel must have a deal with the cruise ships as there were groups of people mid-morning being guided to the sunbeds further on the beach, hence sometimes tables being reserved at mealtimes in the restaurant. The food served at every meal time was of good quality. Everything you could think of a breakfast although you could not have a freshly made egg or omelette of your choice but you did see a lady making the eggs and omelettes. There was a good selection of food provide at lunch and dinner and some lovely Greek specialities. The Caramel ice cream was my favourite of the desserts on offer. Yes sometimes the food was lukewarm but they have a lot to cater for. Some reviewers have said that by 8.30 there was little food left but we were going for our evening meal between 8.30 to 9 every night and there was plenty left! I saw them on many occasions replenishing the food even after 9 and the buffet finishes at 9.30. They do start take things away just after 9.30 though as we were normally the last ones in the restaurant! The restaurant staff were excellent and very friendly. A big hello to Elena who put out a bottle of wine for us every evening. There was entertainment on every night but it is not really our thing but what I saw due to having to get a drink at the pool bar it was very amateurish. The hotel have many nationalities (which we like) mainly German and French and other nationalities that were visiting from the cruise ships. The drinks although not international brands were lovely. There was about 6 cocktails you could have and various spirits. The draught beer was Pegasus, which lovely and cold. (See photos) I would advise though to go all inclusive as if you are half board as the hidden extras will mount up like sunbeds 2 Euro each bed, drinks 8 euros for a cocktail etc. Dassia itself has not much to it. Many of the tavernas have closed down due to an enormous hotel that has been built. There a few restaurants on the seafront if you would like a meal outside at reasonable prices. The negatives. Tui and Elea Beach own website advertise that there are two bars and Tui states that it is open between 9.30 till 11.30 pm. Yes there are two bars but only one is open. There are some lovely seating in the lobby bar but it is very rarely used due this bar not being open. I asked at the reception when this bar is open and she said “ It only opens when it is raining!” Well the last night we had a thunderstorm and the pool bar has limited seating. The lobby bar still did not open. I know that the hotel has limited staff but it only takes one person to man a bar! The WiFi is pretty poor, non existent in the room. The best place to get the WiFi is the lobby which it would make it better if the bar was open as well. The toilets or lack of them. We could only find some in reception or the other end of the activity pool (which is only one toilet). It has a sign stating not enter the lobby with wet feet or wet costumes but you have to if you are near the quiet pool as there isn’t any other that is closer. When you are at the pool bar where the entertainment is you have to walk to the reception for the toilet. Need more toilets outside, Would have like some outdoor eating as it was on the lower ground floor in the main hotel. I think there was air conditioning in the restaurant but it was not very cool. The snacks at the pool bar. We did not feel like going down to the restaurant for lunch but they did not serve snacks when lunch was on (1 till 2.30) so had to go down to the restaurant. They only served cheese and ham toastiEs or pizzas. I tried the pizzas which was 2 slices and it was very rubbery as it had been warmed in the microwave. Missed having something to eat while sitting in the pool bar with a drink. I think they need to rethink this aspect. The sunbeds need to be updated. They are not very comfortable and if the hotel are saying they are a four star hotel then the furniture should reflect this. Saying that it does stop people reserving sunbeds. Wasps! This not the hotels fault but I never been anywhere like Corfu for wasps (and we have been to many Greek islands). They are everywhere even in Corfu town! All in all we enjoyed our stay at Elea Beach and say a big thank you to all the staff who work there,
