Hotellet ligger i en"park", av skjermet fra andre fasiliteter. Lett tilgang til buss etc. Usedvanlig hyggelig betjening. Frokosten er prikken over ien. Fotte rom med super rengjøring og renhold. Nytelse å være her.
Stilig hotel i vakkert parkanlegg
To basseng. Nydelig frokost. Hyggelig, hjelpsom betjening. 15-20 min å gå til Funchal sentrum.
A beautiful place
We only stayed two days here. We wished we had stayed much longer. We had one of the Manor House Suites, which was beautiful and really relaxing. Each meal was a pleasure, and we felt no desire to eat anywhere else. The gardens are beautiful (and every exotic tree is labelled, so the curious are well catered for!), and the staff are all really helpful and efficient. This was easily one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in, so when we return to Madeira, we'll come straight back here.
Beautiful garden hotel
This was a gem of a hotel situated in a beautiful and peaceful landscaped garden with tropical plants and butterflies and two swimming pools ( one adult only). The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely come back.
Very safe bet
Excellent hotel in a quiet position on the western flank of Funchal, and within walking distance of the city centre or the more conventional hotel district nearby. This was once the estate of the Leacock madeira-wine producing family, and the stately Quinta is at the centre of some magnificent gardens which are lovingly tended by a solicitous bunch of diligent operatives who maintain the estate pristinely. There is so much variety and range of horticulture landscaped in such a pleasing way that it is quite a delight to walk amongst it all on a regular basis during one's stay. And every specimen is individually and informatively labelled in such a clear way, too. The gardens are sprayed regularly to keep anything unpleasant at bay, and this allows a host of butterflies to thrive, whilst all the tiny lizards in the stonewalling can deal with whatever is left. The modern guest accommodation , surprisingly, doesn't jar with the surroundings and is situated in the ground floor of an L-shaped modern complex on the upper edge of the garden area. The Garden suites are in the main block facing a slope towards the Quinta, whilst the Premium and Deluxe Rooms on two floors look across the width of the upper lawn. All rooms have sun loungers; the Garden suites are probably best for mobilising these as their terraces are open onto the lawn. The other rooms are more constrained by balconies or enclosed terraces. We were in a Deluxe Room right at the end of our block and it was very quiet indeed. The room was huge with separate large lounge and bedroom areas, a capacious bathroom and another reserve shower room /toilet. There were double double-closets off the roomy internal hallway and, in fact, you could actually lose each other within the whole accommodation as it was so large. A range of fruit and litres of water turned up every day and, occasionally, an english newspaper of choice too. Tea and coffee making facilities were to hand, plus a minibar, and in the bathroom (with whirlpool bath and separate ample shower space) there was an impressive selection of quality freebies. At night, we slept like logs in the wide comfortable bed, and everything was serviced to a high standard each day. Breakfast was taken on the terrace of the bar area and was amply a la carte, with no trouble getting lattes or pancakes; bit stingy with the butter for the bread basket, though. To regulate take-up, pre-booking for half hour slots was in operation although it seemed easy enough to swap around in advance. Obviously the same attractive terrace was used for the bar at the usual times, and I regularly enjoyed a civilised pint, or equivalent, there during the afternoons and evening. There are plenty of loungers around the well-established and enclosed swimming pool, and also across the way in some gardens adjacent to a banana grove(!). There was never any trouble getting a pair of loungers together but sharing the shade of an old-style umbrella can be rather a pain. Due to lack of numbers we normally bagged an umbrella each in the garden. The staff are all really friendly and the Reception girls and the Bar guys are particularly easy to get on with. We hired a car during our stay, and had no trouble parking in the hotel. Madeira has a much upgraded road system since we last visited and it is easy to get to some of the more interesting locations further out which previously seemed such a slog. Plenty of restaurants nearby too, a couple of which are really excellent. Reception will always get a cab for journeys into Funchal and there are so many taxis on the numerous ranks in the town that it is never difficult to get back. We had a really great time here after such a wearing year. The locals are friendly, the weather is temperate and the hotel and the town are just so laid-back and relaxing. We'll be making a return visit same time next year so, of course, would recommend the Quinta Branca unreservedly.
