Opplevd som svindel!

Ankom hotellet på kvelden, og ble møtt med en beskjed om at vi måtte flyttes til et annet hotell. De var fullbooket og kunne ikke hjelpe oss til tross for at vi hadde bestilt i Januar! Det som er ille med dette er at det er et kalkulert opplegg fra hotellet. Flere anmeldelser her inne har samme opplevelse. Vi skulle ha hotell nær gamlebyen, men havnet helt i andre enden. I tillegg påstår de at det vi ble flyttet til var et 5 stjernes hotell. Det var det ikke! Følgende fasiliteter manglet: Internett, badekåper, minibar, strykejern. Styr langt unna alt som har med disse folkene å gjøre!!

Katastrofe

Vi bestilte og betalte for rommet 6 måneder før ankomst. Hotellet ble valgt på bakgrunn av beliggenhet. Jeg er handikappet og kan ikke gå i bakker grunnet liten lungekapasitet. Når vi kom til hotellet kl 21.30 sa de at hotellet var overbokket. De ville sende oss opp i fjellet!! Om ikke det passet så fikk vi greie oss selv!! Dette var en booking for 8 dager. Kunde håndteringen må være det dårligste vi har vært med på. Styr unna dette hotellet da det er fort gjort åhavne i denne situasjonen da de ikke har respekt for de oppdragene de tar på seg

Godt beliggende, men noe umoderne hotell

Hotellet har en meget god beliggenhet i utkanten av sentrum, retning flyplassen, med kort vei til kafeer og restauranter. Hotellet har et uoppvarmet svømmebasseng som ingen benyttet under vårt opphold i desember. Bygningene er noe slitt og umoderne og ville tjent på en oppussing til tidens standard. Personalet er vennlig og service-innstilt med unntak av i resepsjonen hvor betjeningen viser liten oppmerksomhet og interesse.

Be aware/ prepare

The hotel is in a fabulous location and the grounds are beautiful. Not a place for kids though. We had a balcony overlooking the pool with great sea views. We were B&B so the breakfasts were OK but we recommend eating out for other meals as the meal in the hotel was 'satisfactory', but overpriced and not great once you've experienced the fab restaurants on offer in the old town. Not great was the permitting of smoking on the terrace during breakfast and on the balconies - some guests think its OK to puff away next to whilst you're mid meal. However! 1- Our aircon did not work. After varying reassurances with no effect, the night staff slipped up and said it didn't work in many of the rooms. It's supposedly centrally controlled so you cannot adjust it yourself and have to ask. 2- there is no minibar and the fridge did not work 3- no bathrobes in the rooms 4- room dated with thin sheets, fraying towels and rusty bathroom fittings. 5 - you have to ask for a kettle and get limited supplies with no milk. Fortunately we brought tea/ coffee and the milk we bought did not last long as the fridge was warm. 6 - take insect repellent. We had to leave the door open as the air con did not work and got bitten. Others had the same issue as there were the tell tale smears of blood on the ceiling. 7- if you have a room above the kitchen, rooms 125- 131 you will get smells/ noise from the kitchens. 8 - staff were courteous but not chatty or effusive which we didnt mind. 9 - they charge for use of the safe. 1.5 euro/ day. That said, despite the mozzy bites, we had a lovely week on a fantastic island.

Lovely hotel, but could be better

This is a good hotel located in the old town, just 10-15 walk to the cable car and sea front. Plenty of small restaurants and bars within 10 minutes. It is an uphill walk back though - we used taxis a few times! The hotel had character, but no ambience. The building is like an old, colonial style house and is well appointed. The room was comfortable and clean, the housekeepers were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was poor. The hot buffet and fruit selection is served by a staff member which led to queues at busy times. The hot breakfast items were either warm or cold. There were no pastries - croissant or pan au chocolate-type pastries - just bread rolls. We were booked on a bed & breakfast tariff, but I would recommend people check sample menus if wanting half or full board. The staff were helpful. We had a great long weekend as we'd visited deliberately to see some of the flower festival, which was amazing and highly recommended.
