Well done The O hotel. There is something positive about this place. Moment u enter from gate u feel good about the place. They have baggi which takes u to reception. Hotel have grand casino in front and then rooms and restaurants are placed vertically till beach. Nicely built and design. Hotel back gate is on beach. Rooms are nice with bath tub. Breakfast was awesome. Big thumbs up for all the staff. Security people on gates,Valle guy, baggi guy who also help us with luggage. Superb. General manager well maintained.
Not even a 3 star, rip-off
The property website boasts of being a five star property but it is hardly worth it. Rooms - very basic rooms with old furniture and light fittings. Very few switches with no thought given to accessibility. Filled with mosquitoes. Bathroom - small bathtub with overhead shower. No place to wash feet when you come back from beach. Bathtub had a crack and leaking. View - there website mentions deluxe rooms have partial sea view which is a lie but they were not ashamed of it when I pointed it out. They switched us to another room which had the maximum sea view which you would get only after craning out of balcony for what it's worth. They should stop these false advertisements. Beach access - only positive is direct access to the beach but even the nearby 3 star properties have the same advantage so why pay more here? Entry - it has a dead casino in the front and hotel entry is hidden due to that. Valet is available and prompt. Overall it looks like they took over some old resort and branded it as 5 star and charging exorbitant rates for room service. Never coming back and not recommending to anyone.
If you are looking for a mock girl, you are at the right place. Anything that you see as an amenity, it is only for show. Nothing works. The AC is there, but doesnt work. Neither does the dryer or the safe. The locks of the door dont work either. Rundown and not maintained. The breakfast is absolutely the worst that I have seen. Stay away
Very basic & average 5* (visited April 2019, somehow didn't post the review after typing)
Very basic & average 5*, We missed our flight from Goa to Mumbai due to highway road works (new flyovers are being built) and while at the airport we thought of just booking another hotel for 3 nights and rebooked a flight accordingly. Landed up at this hotel since this was the cheapest 5* property we found. Beachfront property, has a swimming pool, golf carts to transport guests from maim gate to the reception, entrance of the hotel is quite weird for a 5* as it shares a common entrance with a casino and the hotel is exactly behind the casino. Breakfast is good, room service / menu prices are exaggerated and too high in accordance to the standard of the hotel, paid almost Rs 400 for a glass of milk for my baby (most hotels don’t charge for baby milk!). The layout of the hotel is such that air conditioning isn’t possible in public areas, however they didn’t even bother to place some table fans at the reception where you’ll sweat like anything in hot months! The reception staff was doing a great job standing in that April heat without any fan! Good service by Antonio at the reception while checking-in around midnight when we arrived. If you’re looking for a quality 5* then this is not a good option, but if you’re looking for a cheap 5* in the range of 4* prices this could be your option. Located at the end of Candolim main road, car hire is a must for easy commute. Thanks, Dhaval Thakkar (London, UK). Date of stay: April 2019
4th time and still smiling
We spent three weeks there in January/ February 2020 and we were as usual very happy with the staff, food, service and surroundings. My son and his family joined us for our last week there and they too had a great time at O. Thanks go to Sid, Brian, Deeps, Bagwan and many others whos names I do not remember. At the reception in the dining hall and the lounge they were ready to help and serve with smiles and a joke on the side and inquisitive about how the day had been. And weaving himself inbetween all of them was Carmo, the chief of the hotel. Knowledgeable about Goa and always inquiring. There is work to be done to maintain the place and the new straws for the mojito in the pool bar were not good!!! Great place and we are ready for the 5th visit. Cheers.
