Alkyon har blitt ett meget bra hotell.

Etter oppgradering av hotellet har dette blitt svært bra. Betjeningen er hyggelig og hjelpsomme,renholdet bra,og frokostbuffen er helt fantastisk.Og for en utsikt når en spiser frokost. Vi hadde halvpensjon,men det vil vi ikke ha flere ganger,for vi var ikke fornøyd med middag vi fikk servert. Vi bodde de to første ukene med side sjøutsikt ,og det var helt utmerket. Siste uken bodde vi i front med full sjøutsikt,og disse rommene har jo blitt helt fantastiske.Det er en stor fordel å få bort badekarene på badene,for det kan ære vanskelig for gamle eller uføre å komme seg oppi ett slikt badekar. På frontrommene under frokostterassen er det litt støy hver morgen når stoler blir flyttet på ,på frokostterassen. Vi vil absolutt komme tilbake, dette er det beste hotellet for oss,sentral beliggenhet, fantastisk betjening og en frokost som er helt fantastisk.

Back again

Even though we travel to other destinations, we always find time for a week or two every year, to come back to the Alkyon. Gets better each time, this year more so than most for Maria's amazing cocktails in the bar! Hotel is as clean as ever, and breakfast never ceases to impress (so do the views from the dining area). More renovations, and improvements have been made, so lovely to witness the hotel evolve, and set new standards. Yet again can't wait to get back.

Standard room's unless you are on the front that have been modernised ground floor running in cats ,cold water showers, breakfast toaster does not work properly only two of them breakfast manager sour faced cleaning staff very good especially Linda . Suitcases when you arrive they are left outside on the main walk with nobody looking after them reception manager seems to think this is ok nobody will touch them and puppet assistant they have got to be the worst reception people I have ever come across good luck to you if you have to return to them with a problem the owners of this hotel should look at their staffing . Jet2 pay for a Rep there who is never there at all all good job money for nothing

Arrogant reception manager

Stayed at this hotel with my husband in October firstly can I say that it seems the people who mainly put a review on here of this hotel are the people who have had a good experience as we spoke to several people who had not what. When we arrived the lady in front of us at reception I was given a ground floor room but asked to change as apparently there was a problem with cats so we ended up having that ground floor room that in itself meant that we could not leave our patio doors open as cats kept entering the room on our first morning we were woken at 7 a.m. by cleaning staff talking very loudly outside our room and a very loud vibrating noise which we could not work out where it was coming from or what it was so after that we kept our air conditionin on to try and drownd out the noise . Several days into our holiday as we left our room the door to the next room was open and we could see several washing machines so now we knew you what the noise was as the room was being used for the hotel laundry we then approached reception and were told yes the washing for the hotel was done next to our room and somebody has got to stay in there as the hotel owner wanted it letting out to which we replied that the room was not fit for purpose and no paying guests should be allocated that room the receptionist was very arrogant and unhelpful after many crossed words we were eventually relocated to another room which absolutely smelt of sewage the cleaner told us to go back to reception and not to have that room there was a problem with it as the hotel was emptying end of season they could have given us any decent room not this one that obviously had a problem so again another upsetting row to be moved at last to a decent room unfortunately by then the damage has been done it had tarnished our holiday.As to the breakfast so many people have said how good it was in my opinion as somebody who stayed at seven different holiday hotels last year I would only say it was very average.The receptionists when you dare to complain are completely different to the face they put on on when everything is going well .I have complained to jet2 customer service Rhys who seems to think that it is acceptable to spend a holiday next to a laundry .

Great location

We booked direct and paid extra to have a refurbished room with a sea view, also we had half board free giving us buffet breakfast in the morning with lots of choice, with great views of the harbour. Also the restaurant is where you ate at the front of the hotel giving you 3 courses of mostly delicious food. Our room was spacious and modern with a lovely bathroom with the only problem being limited hot water at most times, we did take this up with reception who were very apologetic and eventually we was compensated for this on checking out. The location is great with lots of bars and restaurants a short walk away in skiathos town.
