Fabelaktig!
Enklere i standard men rent. Alt i alt et fint opphold.
A wonderful place to stay
Yet another holiday to this gem of a hotel situated a short walk away from Sivota. The service is exceptional, the situation unbelievably good just a short hop away from Mega Ammos beach and with it's own access to the sea via a set of steps and the food always tasty. The staff without exception are truly helpful, friendly and cheery. The gardens and pool area are lovely and our room, although basic, was always kept clean and fresh.
Most definitely a great find.
Had a fantastic 1-week family holiday at this superb relaxing family-run hotel. Amazing staff: friendly, incredibly hard-working and always so helpful. Slightly off the beaten track, about 4 minute taxi ride outside Syvota but still walkable into town if you so wish. Lots of space around the pool with plenty of sun loungers (always enough to go around), some facing the pool and others facing out to sea with the shore literally 20 metres away. No beach but purpose-built walkway into the sea which is safe for swimming/snorkelling. Closest beach is a short stroll along from the hotel, perhaps 100-150 metres away. Hire of SUPs and boats available from the hotel for a very reasonable charge - whole day charge of an SUP with life preserver for only 20 Euros. The restaurant has great views over the sea - unbeatable really - and we were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins passing by one evening as we ate. Lots of lovely seafood on the menu, along with a good range of meat and vegetarian alternatives, together with a three-course daily set menu at 15 Euros. Great wine list (predominantly Greek as you'd expect) together with a wide variety of other drinks, including cocktails. We travelled with one university aged child, one in sixth form and one of primary age and there was plenty to engage them: no "I'm bored" uttered by any of them for the duration. We had one room with a sea-view and one garden-room which overlooked the immaculately kept grounds. The rooms had daily house-keeping and were spotless, and had very efficient air-conditioning. Guests were predominantly a mix of northern European nationalities (Brits in the minority which was a nice change) and made up primarily of couples (it is a romantic spot - particularly in the evenings) and families. I can honestly recommend this hotel without hesitation or reservation - it really lived up to its name of 'Little Paradise'.
MIXED FEELINGS
Sorry for the long review.. Our first visit to Syvota and this small well looked after hotel. The gardens were beautiful and very well kept. The rooms were clean and serviced well by the efficient cleaning staff but there was not enough storage. As a result the room was very messy /cluttered as there was no bedside cabinet or drawers of any description to put anything away.. Another small point to note that there is no telephone in the rooms so if anything was required it was a walk to reception, if there was an emergency of any kind it would be a problem... Breakfast was included in the price and there was a good selection of continental items, fruit fresh and tinned, plain greek yoghurt, croissant, various preserves, choice of 3 cereal, ham, cheese slices, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, freshly baked bread, fruit juice.. there was a {warm } selection of fried eggs, omellete, sometimes mushrooms & ham, potatoes which were in tureens but unfortunately the warming element was never turned on and most of the time they items were cold..i am not sure why ? But you could not go hungry as it was a large choice of food.. There were some tables inside, but a nice undercover area overlooking the sea which was very pleasant to eat your breakfast each morning. There was the option to upgrade to HB and daily there was a selection of 3 or 4 courses at a price of 15 Euros which was good value but the portions were quite small. and not to our taste. we did not eat at the hotel on many occassions as the prices for drinks were expensive..Large beer was 5Eu , glass of wine 6Eu, Fresh orange was 6Eu, the cheapest bottle of wine was 19Eu..If the hotel would just reduce their prices a bit they would probably keep the guests in hotel instead they eat over in the next bay as their drinks are so much more competitvely priced..Even bottled water was expensive .. Unless you walked into Syvota 20 mins away you were bound by the hotels high prices sadly. Guests were a mixture of german, norwegian, dutch, and very few british..we found this refreshing..the only downside we found was that the majority of the staff did not understand English which could sometimes be problematic particularly when it involved a dietry issue.. There were plenty of sunbeds and sunshades, and the pool was kept clean.. It was great to be able to swim in the sea from the steps that went down from the patio area. and you were able to rent extra beach towels for a small fee at reception.. We did find that the staff generally were helpful and friendly if not a little biased towards certain nationalities but we enjoyed our 2 weeks stay here..and met some nice people.. Really not sure if i would return .. this review is longer than normal, but in the months leading up to our holiday at Mikros Paradisos we had difficulty finding any information as to what was included in the rooms, such as kettle ,cups, glasses,toiletries,.. which is the reason for the lengthy review!!! We did e mail the hotel, but some questions were not always answered.. It was hard to get any information if you wanted to hire a car, book a trip as the Jet2 presence was sadly lacking..(Not a fault of the hotel) There was a welcome pack with 4 information sheets and a UK telephone number..given as you were put into your transfer..that was it... There was a board in hotel reception with pick up times but no one had any contact details of the local Jet2 rep (or so we were told) There was a Jet2 rep who chose to arrive with no notification to us guests but also he never looked for any of the 4 british couples on any of the 3 occasions he came to check if there were any problems or if all was well..It was a poor show by Jet2 as there were daily visits by other nationalities agents who usually aknowledged us..
