Perfect for stop over
After 2 weeks Greek Island hopping we booked 2 nights at Olia hotel for a taste of Mykonos before our flight back to UK. We chose Olia primarily to fit our budget as most hotels are much pricier in the very prestigious Mykonos! The position right near the port where we disembarked our ferry was also important. The hotel is literally opposite the port, a 5 minute walk with cases straight to hotel. We were travelling as a family with 2 teenage kids so needed a large room. The room was right at the top of the hotel, many steps if you have mobility problems but that afforded amazing views over to the port and Mykonos with great sunsets. The room had a king-size bed, pull out settee and single with good sized bathroom, it was ideal for a couple of nights but a bit tired. The pool and outside area just lovely, very relaxing, can't hear busy road to port and very interesting watching the port activity with cruise ships etc. The sea ferry opposite takes you into mykonos, a 10 minute boat ride and the Cantina next door does great Gyros, with 2 well stocked supermarkets next door to that. We were greeted with a warm welcome and an informative guide to Mykonos, transfer to airport was also greatly received as not easy to organise in height of summer. Breakfast was also good, hot and cold options.
A lovely hotel which we stayed at for 4 nights. It’s a bus ride or sea bus hop out of town, quite near to the ferry port. We were on a B&B board, which was very good. The owner gave us a lot of advice on where to go what to do and how to get there. A lovely hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Mykonos
Don't stay there
The room needs some work. The wall got some cracks. The window frame in the shower is broken and needs to be fixed. There are some molds in the shower. The employee yelled at me for bringing my food to the pool. He said we are not allowed to eat anywhere but in your room and breakfast room. I caught an employee who ate his sandwich in the reception. What a joke. Breakfast is not so great. They offered brownies, cakes, pie, watermelon, bread, cereal, cheese, tomatoes, processed ham, and yogurt. Why offer junk food for breakfasts beyond my incomprehensible. The employees are alright. Nothing special except the guy yelled at me in front of the people. Very disrespectful.
Wonderful Mykonos.. Wonderful hotel
Stayed at this lovely hotel at the beginning of May. Travelled on the ferry from Santorini. They were there to pick us up and they took us back to the airport. Immaculately clean, lovely room, we had a superior room with a fantastic view of the Marina and all the cruise ships. Very helpful and informative staff. Would not hesitate to return. Thank you for a lovely stay.
We are staying at the Olia Hotel just outside of Mykonos town which is a small family run boutique hotel. It is beautiful. It is furnished to a very high standard with wonderful Greek touches throughout. The hotel is meticulously clean. The pool area has a very relaxing vibe with an infinity pool overlooking the Aegean and ambient music playing throughout the day. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. They are cleaned daily with fresh towels provided. The food at the hotel is delicious. Breakfasts here have been plentiful. We have enjoyed having our lunches here with an ice cold mythos beer being attentively looked after by Alexandros. There are also a selection of meals to have in the evening if you didn’t want to leave the hotel. Georgios at front of house is very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. He will provide any information you need to know about the island. All the staff have been wonderful. The hotel is in a great position, close to the New Port to catch the sea bus into Mykonos Town. There are a couple of supermarkets very close by and Cantina next door serve amazing coffee and great Greek food. We have certainly found the jewel in the Aegean Sea staying at the Olia Hotel. We love it here and will definitely return. Highly recommended.
