A modern hotel, with fantastic rooms and an excellent location. Great spa facilities. Food was good, but became repetitive at lunch. The best food was to be had in the surrounding areas with so much choice. The only issue is there is clearly not enough sun beds for the number of rooms. Everyday you had to anxiously wait while everyone ran at 9am. It was a little embarrassing to watch.
Amazing 5* hotel, would definitely recommend . .
My partner and I had the most amazing stay at this hotel. After 2 years of not being able to go on holiday we were so excited to be able to get away. It was for my birthday too so it made it extra special. Akasha lived up to every expectation, from the moment we arrived at the hotel you're taken care of and made to feel welcome by the hotel's experience manager who was very friendly, personable and welcoming. The rooms were lush, very modern, bright and clean, we upgraded to a jacuzzi room and it was the best decision ever, it made our stay. The restaurant / beach bar, we were very pleased with, had many options available and the staff in restaurant and bar were attentive, professional and friendly. The location was very good and a good buzz around it. We asked a lady on reception for some recommendations for places we could go out to eat at night as we were half board, and the recommendations given were outstanding, the food and overall experience of each restaurant was great. The reception staff were fantastic, very friendly, approachable, well mannered and professional, if we had any issues they were dealt with there and then. In addition to this, my partner booked us a full body massage and facial in the spa for my birthday and it was incredible, the best massage we've had. A big shout out to the two ladies who did this for us, it was perfect. We look forward to coming back to Crete in high season and will definitely be staying at Akasha again; loved our stay!
Checked in to akasha hotel and were greeted by Lisa the hotel manager who was lovely and very helpful prior to our arrival , she is a credit to The hotel and made us feel welcome. Your luggage is bought to your rooms on arrival and there are curtesy rooms when you leave so you can Freshen up for your travels back home. Rooms were exactly what we booked , see view with private plunge pool, ( pool was a little Cold however but it is October ) . Rooms were spacious cleaned everyday to very high standard , and finished to a very high standard with design . hotel staff were very welcoming polite and always there with assistance if needed , With table service at the pool areas and bar areas all day. The “beach house “ is also there to use with a separate pool more lounge areas for sunbathing And within a stone throw of the beach . Plenty of variety at the buffet and very clean restaurant. I can’t fault this hotel for its standards , cleanliness and design. Only one fault i have , is that we should of booked more time there.
Loved our stay at Akasha
Loved our stay at this hotel, it was new and modern and decorated to a high standard. We stayed in a sea view room with a plunge pool half board, rooms were spacious with a big comfortable bed, lovely rainfall shower, fridge, kettle and coffee machine. The room was cleaned everyday and clean towels provided. The food was nice, lots of variety and it was good that you can swap dinner for lunch if you want to as it’s on the main strip with lots of restaurants to walk out to. All the staff were great especially Lisa who was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, she is a credit to the hotel, thank you Joelle and Ben x
Lovely hotel but not for anyone with dietary requirements
I have booked a holiday with you for Crete on 26th September 2021 for 7 nights with 3 adults. Akasha Beach Hotel Spa is a 5-star hotel but after spending a week there I would give them the generous 3 stars. When we have arrived at the hotel the reception staff wasn't very friendly or welcoming. My daughter has celiac disease and also she is dairy intolerant. When we checked in to the hotel she have spoken to the reception and made them aware of her dietary condition. The receptionist said that this is not a problem, however, that wasn't the truth. On the first night stay, she has approached the restaurant manager asking for gluten-free options, where the manager sends her to the chefs in the restaurant, then the chefs send her back to the manager or the server. No help what's so ever. The next day whole day she was sent from one person to another but no one can supply GF bread or specify which options are safe for her to eat. The food in the restaurant had some labeling but only showing the dish name without the allergy ingredients. On the second day of our stay, I couldn't take it any longer and I have asked the restaurant manager to sort out some GF bread for my daughter as she cannot eat only bacon and baked beans for breakfast, this was the only safe option for her. The food in the restaurant was blunt and every day this same, not many changes. The food name labels did not always were showing the correct dish. Sometimes lamb was served as pork, chicken as turkey. All desserts were heavily based on cream, not much taste flavor, or variety. On the third day, I have had stomach problems after lunch along with my daughter. We have spent the afternoon in the hotel room in the bathroom. After that experience, we have decided to eat out. We have had an all-inclusive package and the reason for it was that my daughter can have food without worrying that she might be sick and ruin the holiday. The restaurant out of the hotel was more welcoming and helpful allowing for her to have a proper meal. The snack bar provides only a small variety of food and no choices for someone with dietary requirements. The restaurant manager was totally useless, he was mostly running around from the main entrance of the restaurant to his office like a headless chicken but not really interested in the hotel guests, it was very hard to approach or find when he was needed. The rooms are very small okay for 2 people but too small for 3 adults. If I knew that they're so small I would book 2 rooms. The evening entertainment was just something I have never seen. Most of the night classical music was played by a duet on piano, violin, or something similar. I understand that this is only background music however this does not need to be so sad, I have founded it depressing and all I wanted is to go to bed. The indoor pool was closed for use. Outdoor pools were very cold. The housekeeping ladies were fabulous and very helpful. We have approached the reception asking for the Tui rep, there weren't very interested to provide information or have had no knowledge if the rep is in the hotel ( It was on the day the rep was supposed to be at the hotel as per information received by the TUI app). This holiday was for my and my daughter's birthday, supposed to be amazing in the new 5star hotel. We were all so happy and couldn't wait to stay there plus this was the first time in Crete for my son-in-law. Since the holiday I have made changes to my next year's Crete holiday as I will never stay in that hotel again. I have stayed in Crete many times at many different hotels, not a 5 star but 4 star too, used many hotels and have had always amazing stays, unfortunately, this time this was not a good stay, definitely not a holiday with the smile. Very disappointed with the accommodation, food, and cost of the stay. If the hotel is not keen on accomodating dietary requirements they should say so, I would never book them.
