We stayed here 4 years ago, it was as fabulous then as our stay this time. The staff are a credit to the owners, everyone was so friendly, helpful and polite, in particular the housekeeping ladies who on my birthday put petals on our bed. I thought it was my partner at first who almost took the credit! Great choice at breakfast, Ana the lady is the best poached egg/ omelette maker, Pool area is spotless, comfy sun beds, lots to choose from don’t have to put your towel to reserve. The location is perfect, I’ve seen reviews saying it’s a long walk to the harbour, we disagree it takes about 15-20 mins walking moderately, Only negative I can think of are drinks are expensive, I’m sure people would buy more even if they were lowered by even 1 euro! On the whole our time here for the week was fabulous, loved every minute and hope to be back soon.
Nice, but not 4 star
We stayed here with bed and breakfast option in May. Pros- lovely rooms with amazing room service every day, lovely towels and dressing gowns. Bed was comfy and the balcony allowed for ventilation of the room. Great choice at breakfast, location is good if you don't mind a 15 minute walk into town Cons- breakfast was cold on repeat occasions in line with other reviews on here. Drinks at breakfast were quite limited and small, hard to get a refill. Unfortunately the showers were also cold on occasion and some staff members at the bar didn't want to engage in any conversation which came across rude. Our flight arrived late at night, the bar was open but we were refused any kind of crisps or snacks. Don't buy the drinks around the pool as they are ridiculously priced. A nice stay but not 4 star standard.
Very nice hotel, with a few negatives.
Fir There are a lot of positives with the Diamond Boutique Hotel but for us there were also a lot of negatives and we do not feel it justified the trip advisor rating. Firstly, the restaurant staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, in particular Ilie and Lazaros, they made going to breakfast and dinner a very pleasant experience. Ana who cooked the eggs, crepes and pancakes fresh every day to your liking was just so lovely and her food delicious. However, the pre prepared ‘hot’ food was always cold, which was disappointing. The evening meal was always fabulous and I really have nothing negative to say, though we thought the drinks were extremely over priced. The pool area is amazing with the most comfortable sun loungers we’ve ever had and never a problem getting one, but be very careful putting the back rest down as they are very heavy and can trap your hands, this happened to me and I had to have it checked out at hospital. Pool surroundings very peaceful and the staff always on hand to offer you refreshments. Unfortunately during our stay the hotel manager hosted a birthday party for a child who apparently was a family member, they took over the restaurant area and there were at least 30 children running around the pool area for around 6 hours, we did not think this was in appropriate. The hotel room was nice with plenty of space, but unfortunately we had two infestations of ants, that were everywhere including the bed! The towels were fab and soft and changed every day, a few times they were a little raggy with holes in. The hotel maid who looked after us was so lovely and kept our room beautiful, nice little touches, like flowers on the bed in the last night. For us we felt the location was poor, a long walk to Kos Harbour and old town, having to walk down a long unlit road at night to get to and from the hotel, very scary if you were on your own. All that said, I would give 4.5 out of 5 if there was that option.
lovely all round holiday
Myself and my wife stayed for 12 days at the Diamond Boutique Hotel just outside Kos. The hotel is very clean and the staff are polite and helpful, especially Elina on reception, she is a real star. The positives are Very clean rooms are a good size and have everything you need toiletries, towels etc The Pool area is very nice with comfy sun loungers just a 15min walk into Old Kos Town and the Harbour. The variety and general quality of the breakfast is superb (except the hot food) Negatives were The hot items for breakfast (bacon, mushrooms, scrambled egg) were luke warm at best, i tried them on the first day and again later in the week but both times they were almost cold. The walls are thin between apartments, there you can hear conversations and there is a glass roller shutter between the bedroom and living area, this is very noisy and can be heard in adjoining rooms, we bought ear plugs to resolve. The drinks are very expensive at the hotel, over double what you would pay in Kos town. Small Mykos beer £4,50, Bottle of water £3, a sprite £4. There is a sign up stating you can only eat and drink food from the bar around the pool which makes it very expensive Overall we have a good holiday at the DBH , the only downside to our holiday was the owners decided to host a childrens birthday party beside the pool on the Sunday, With 30+ children running around and around 60 adults at the bar it resulted in almost every guest leaving the pool area. We thought it very inconsiderate to host a family party which affected the paying guests enjoyment, we we told we couldn't order food during the afternoon as staff were busy with the party! The Guests who pay good money to stay here should be the priority but sadly this was not the case.
Don't hesitate to book
We had a lovely relaxing holiday at DBH. The best feature of the hotel is the staff team who all made the holiday special and could not do enough for us. Every single person was friendly and attentive. The bedroom had everything we needed and the extra room with a sofa bed was a bonus. The sofa bed was also very comfortable. There was lots of choice for breakfast and I'd recommend the pancakes with greek yoghurt and cherries. We had the five course dinner each night which was very good quality with the exception of the desserts which were a little heavy so we opted for the delicious vanilla ice cream. The pool area is sheltered and there is lots of space around the super-comfortable sunbeds. We had a slight issue with noise one night from the room next door which was dealt with quickly and efficiently by the staff. The hotel is around a 15 minute walk from the harbour and old town. We will definitely be back.
