Amazing
Such a great location - off the strip but walking distance from clubs, bars and restaurants! The hotel staff were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was like any other hotel breakfast had a good selection and was tasty! The hotel is definitely more appealing for the young generation 18-23 year old not really for families with kids as it is on the strip so most people are drinking The best holiday ever 🤗
One of the best holiday experiences I have had
The atmostphere was great from when we arrived. Even getting complimentary juice on check-in was amazing. Whether it was because it was scorching or because it is something they do it doesn't matter. Amazing all the same. All the staff were extremely pleasant, and the vibe was incredibly chilled. The view was beautiful, the small town of Kavos was lovely and it was nice to get away from it all. A stellar experience all around and definitely something I would recommend to anyone.
Lovely hotel
So me and my boyfriend both age 21 stayed in the hotel for 7 nights. First impressions were really good. We were welcomed by all staff and was given a free drink on arrival which was so appreciated after a long journey (around 1hr30 but felt like more) from the airport. We were shown to our room by the receptionist which lead us to our annexe room across the street which was no more than a 2 minute walk. At first we were worried about the room being an annexe as some reviews said it was a pain, and we liked the idea of nipping back up a few stairs if need be, but honestly we were so glad and really wasn’t an issue at all. After being sat around the pool and for our evening meal, we quickly realised it was much quieter and more private as the main road can be quite busy and loud! The room was lovely and exactly how pictures are advertised, very clean and spacious, beds also extremely comfortable. The ONLY complaint I had in terms of facilities was the shower, it was either red hot with good pressure or freezing, it took a few minutes to get it right, and we managed so wasn’t really a massive issue with everything else being spot on. Pool area was cleaned each day, and plenty of comfortable sunbeds to use, so didn’t matter what time you got up, you were always guaranteed one unlike some hotels. We went on a half board basis, and we are SO glad we did. It was worth every penny. I can’t comment much of the breakfast, as neither of us are big breakfast lovers so didn’t eat much in a morning, but the selection was good, and the evening meal was DELICIOUS. Each night we were offered a variety of 3 course meal; including either a chicken dish, pork, beef, or vegetarian meal and it was different every night and we were NEVER disappointed. If you are going to kavos, I would 100% recommend this hotel. We met people of all ages here from 18-60, and everyone is friendly. The strip starts from a 2 min walk away, and goes on for about 15 mins. Unfortunately we felt kavos was abit too out of the way for us, even as a younger couple we wanted to explore more and couldn’t without a long journey. we went to aqua land which was north of the island and felt an even worse journey than the airport, but was so worth it. We also did the boat trip to paxos and antipaxos which was the highlight of our holiday, it was only a 5 min transfer from kavos to the boats, definitely a MUST if you are visiting Corfu, it was stunning. All in all we really enjoyed our holiday to Ekati Mare/corfu and we are thankful to all members of staff for making our stay pleasurable.
Not a bad hotel
We arrived late due to flight delays and so got to the hotel when it was dark, we were shown to our room which sadly wasn’t in the main hotel. We were in one of the villas opposite the road (600 block) the room was okay, relatively clean and looked very similar to the online images. Good stuff: Staff really friendly, especially the 2 dark haired ladies serving most days, they were so kind and helpful. The pool area is lovely and we loved the banana trees and green areas which took away from the fact that it is on the edge of town. If you’re going with friends for a long boozy weekend then the hotel is ideal! It’s a nice distance from the main strip so noice from clubs isn’t an issue but close enough that it’s just a really short walk. The food and drinks at the hotel (and in Kavos as a whole) was great! The hotel was a tiny bit pricey so we were conscious about what we ordered and didn’t do a tab. Worth dining there in the evening at least once and I highly recommend the strawberry daiquiri! Not so good stuff: The room was a little crap in places like the tap wasn’t fixed properly so needed 2 hands to hold and turn on, the shower was a huge disappointment as it was either hotter than the sun with amazing pressure or normal shower temperature but just a light drizzle, by the end of the week I was so fed up with this. It sadly rained a few days and the hotel didn’t have any form or entertainment (the pool table is not there anymore) so we just would play cards or watch films on the iPad. When it rains apparently there is a known issue that the fuse box is effected and so we had no air-con for about a day and we had no water pressure for a day either and we were told we were not able to change rooms to the main hotel which was not effected but we could borrow a room to shower in…this was a bit poor really. The location… for perspective, we are a young couple who love walking, relaxing by a pool and seeing the local area. Kavos is not for this. I regret not doing more research on the location but you live and learn! There are like 2 walks, 1 to the nice beach and the other to the viewpoint at the end of the beach or to the lake on the way. The sea is a short walk away as Kavos is right on the coast BUT there is no beach really, it’s disgusting, full of rubbish and seaweed. Such a shame! Arkoudilas (about 40 min walk from hotel) is really nice though. The town is literally just clubs, cafes and gift shops, very much geared towards clubbers. It was also quite dirty as the streets were just covered in the night before antics like laughing gas canisters. We did rent a quad bike which was fantastic and we saw more of the island which was quite nice but there are definitely much prettier Greek islands. We also did the catamaran cruise through TUI which was so good! Lots of sea swimming and lunch and drinks included. Highly recommend this trip for a fun day and to see more of the coast. In summary, if you’re looking for culture, walks and a relatively romantic holiday, go more north of the island. If you’re going for a boozy trip and a nice hotel to chill at in the days, then Kavos is ideal! #doyourresearch
Score only lifted by the wonderful staff
We arrived quite late on day one 11pm(ish) to be greeted warmly by the lovely Muhammad ( hope it’s the correct spelling)who offered us a refreshing cherry drink. He was clearly concious of our looooonnnngggg day travelling and gave us space to check in, have our drink and then be shown to our room by the receptionist. Comfortable room, like the separate shower from the bathroom😃 Made getting ready very easy for two people😃 A pleasant surprise to get news channels in English ( Sky and BBC) which doesn’t happen much in other countries we visit. Tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge and a hair dryer😃So all in all, great! Shame about mould on the nets at the window and in the shower room and stains on the vallance on the bed. We presume this is because the hotel is “ tired” at the end of the season. The 11 days we were here we didn’t try to get around the pool as it was very busy but in under 10 mins walk you are at the beach with a great view across to mainland Greece. So as lovely as the pool area is, for us, beach won every time. If you do visit the beach I recommend After beach bar- lovely people! Turn at the blue and yellow “ To The Beach” sign opposite “ HQ” by the raised TDK sign. Breakfast was “ OK” but we actually found we slept so well here we rarely made it. Try to avoid 09:00 am as that seems to be the busiest time in our experience. Didn’t eat here in the evenings as so many places to go to in Kavos. All the staff are charming, engaging and caring and I mean all! but a special mention for Muhammad, Pavlos, Dordia and Faye and Alexandra and the gorgeous Dina for keeping them all in order!!🤣( please forgive me if my spelling of your names is incorrect). We didn’t get to find everyone’s name but everyone, exceptional! We truly were made to feel like special guests, so well done Ekati Mare and all its staff for creating that. Our only down point was housekeeping. Every day after the room had been done, we had to ask for fresh mugs in our room which we found odd when tea and coffee facilities are provided in the room. It’s possible it isn’t actually on their schedule to do and we were supposed to wash them ourselves but all 4 star places we have stayed give you clean ones every day. Don’t mind washing our own if we know that this is the expectation. On arrival we had two bath towels and two hand towels. On days where we needed to get fresh towels we always ended up a “ towel down” and had to ask. This happened at least 3 times; either a hand towel or bath towel short. Again not sure what the schedule for towels is as there was no information card informing you. Most places we stay explain for environmental reasons if guests could re use towels then please do, but if you want fresh ones then leave them in a designated place. Happy to re use and we did for a few days but the room we had was ground floor with a small courtyard with very little sun. We did bring a washing line but could only set it along a railing which was OK for drying smaller, lightweight items. Shower towels never really got dry. Day 9 fresh towels appeared😃but still not a full set- one hand towel down🤣🤣🤣 We ended up quite “ chilled” about it and every day on our return played the “ how many towels do we have today? “ game and a “ fresh mugs or not?” game. By day 3 where every time I had explained that housekeeping had completed our room but never changed our mugs, all I had to do was go to the bar, smile and hold up two used mugs and I was given fresh ones. No point labouring the issue as it was only a small irritant. Thank you for not making me feel like an inconvenience! A few “ niggles” but our experience would have been very different without the staff team. Note to owners- you have a winning staff team ❤️ but building and cleaning of rooms needs attention. Tripadvisor asks for a score based on our experience which was great due to the customer facing staff but as for the lack of attention to the cleaning of our room it would have been a poor rating, our score only lifted by exceptional staff.
