Nicest hotel in the area
After deciding not to stay in our pre-booked hotel not far away from CavoMarina at 2am, we found this hotel and hoped that they had a room available to us. The lovely security man Dimitris (i believe his name was) found us a room for our week and helped us with our bag to our room. The room was spotlessly clean fitted with a fridge/freezer. The cleaners come every morning and do an amazing job. The beach was also amazing and you dont have to pay for a sun lounger like other close hotels make you. The reception and bar staff are the nicest people ever and nothing was too much for them. Its very close to the main strip of Kavos but you dont hear a peep from it of a night time. If it wasnt for this hotel we would have got a flight straight back home so thank you CavoMarina for saving our holiday
Wonderful Week!
Just returned from a very relaxing week at the Cavomarina Beach Hotel and one of the best Greek holidays we've ever had. The hotel is in a beautiful location on a sandy beach with plenty of sunbeds, umbrellas and a lovely pool next to the bar. Kavos is a lively resort but the hotel is set back from the main strip, so if you want plenty of nightlife it's on your doorstep but if you want peace and quiet with a short stroll to a good bar or taverna with a bit of atmosphere it's perfect too - definitely the best of both worlds. The room was clean and very comfortable, good air-conditioning, with fridge and kettle and a nice, spacious balcony. The buffet breakfast was excellent; a superb choice of hot and cold options with beautiful fruit, pastries, cheese and cold meats and a creative selection of cooked dishes - eggs, bacon, roasted vegetables - different every day! We had a couple of lunches and a few evening meals at the restaurant and these were all very good. Varied menus catering to different tastes - we loved the Greek food but there were pizzas, pasta, risotto, grilled chicken and steaks too. Costas looked after us so well - even showed us his latest catch of sea bass - cooked to perfection with lemon, garlic and black pepper - delicious! I've been saving the best 'til last! The staff were incredible - all of them! The receptionists were so friendly and helpful, the waitresses the same - they worked so hard but always had time for a chat, as did the bar staff. The cleaners were great - our rooms were spotless and the public spaces in the hotel were immaculate! We travel a lot and don't often go back to the same hotel or resort twice, but we are planning to return to the Cavomarina Hotel next year for longer and to explore more of Corfu.
A lovely stay - wonderful staff - nice beach - great food
Had a lovely weeks holiday at this hotel and wanted to give an honest and helpful review. *Location* Kavos is lively but not as lively as a lot of places I have been and the hotel is situated away from the main road so is quiet and peaceful. There are some great places to eat/drink around, which I have recommended below. It's a 1 hour+ transfer from the airport on some bendy roads. Corfu airport is chaotic. *Hotel* The hotel itself is right on the beach, quiet, with a nice vibe. It had a lovely mix of local and European guests. You can walk along the beach to other restaurants and bars, without having to go into the main town. The beach was mainly clean, and spotless around the hotel beds, but like most places, the beaches suffer from plastics in certain spots. The water was clear, warm and calm. Watersports nearby if that's your thing. You never had a problem getting a sun lounger and a brolly. The pool bar and restaurant were well stocked. For an island, it was reasonably priced. Never an issue finding a table. The pool doesn't have any seating around it, but it was lovely to take a dip in it and return to the bar for a drink. It could get a little busy in early the afternoons but morning and late afternoon it was fairly quiet and at times we had the pool to ourselves. Reception was very helpful with booking taxi's, storing cases and proving access to the shower room. Breakfast was very good, much better than I was expecting based off previous Greek trips! We had dinner at the hotel one night which was very nice (seabass) with some lovely local white wine (dry). Wifi was good, even on the beach you could connect. *Rooms* We had a double bed room with balcony and a sea view. Rooms are basic, but the bed was very comfy, house keeping kept it very clean and the balcony was a good size. We always chilled out there before going out and after coming home. Plenty of cupboard space, with a security safe. Aircon was excellent and much needed! Bathroom was small, with some toilet flush power issues, but again, to be expected in Greece and no uncommon. Just follow the advice and don't flush paper. *Amenities* Plenty of supermarkets around. 2 big ones close by, but do shop around if you are buying spirits or wines. Can get all the essentials needed. *Kavos Bars* A couple of late night music bars/nightclubs at the top of the road, to the right. If you turn left, walk 2 mins to the bus stop, and turn left at the Tex Mex restaurant, you'll find Pulse Bar with TV screens for sports, pool tables, bowling etc. Nice place to sit late afternoon/early evening and people watch. There is a quieter bar across from Tex Mex for a chilled beer or glass of wine later when the music turns up elsewhere. *Restaurant recommendations* 'The Village restaurant' - great Greek entertainment, plate smashing and music. Amazing food (we had the meat platter). Good selection of drinks. Good price. (EUR60 for a couple). https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g676533-d15018136-Reviews-The_Village-Kavos_Corfu_Ionian_Islands.html 'Russo's' - very famous, beachside view restaurant. Book beforehand or you'll be queuing to get in. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g676533-d2189765-Reviews-Roussos_Restaurant-Kavos_Corfu_Ionian_Islands.html Terry's - more great food (seafood) and some very nice wine. chickpea and marmalade starter was superb. NOTE - across from Terrys is a lovely little bar. Great selection of Gin, Whisky, Run etc and cocktails. Not the cheapest but if you like a proper treat it's perfect for a pre-dinner tipple. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g676533-d4723977-Reviews-Terry_s_Greek_International_Cuisine-Kavos_Corfu_Ionian_Islands.html Falconera - was the best meal we had. It's next to the hotel (face the sea and turn right, walk 3 mins and it's the restaurant overlooking the sea). Fantastic food and again, great local dry white wine. DEFO try this one, and to get on the terrace, you'll need to book. NOTE: next door is a small hotel that has a nice bar (Shisha bar) with out door swing seats, beds and sofas. Really nice Bali/Thailand vibe with the music and lanterns/candles. very much worth having a drink at. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g676533-d2270863-Reviews-Falconera_Restaurant-Kavos_Corfu_Ionian_Islands.html *Trips* Boat to Paxos We did a boat trip (you see them advertised everywhere) to the blue caves and Paxos. Was nice to do, and see something different, but the journey over there and back is long and the boat was crowded. We got to the port early by taxi but if you transfer arrives late, you don't get much of a seat selection. A smaller boat/trip would be better. Public bus to Corfu Town Advertised as 1.5 hours but takes 2. Corfu town is lovely, quaint and fully of interesting shops, bars and restaurants and lots of history. For 5EUR a ticket it's great value as long as you can stomach the journey. No organisation at the bus stop, it's elbows and pushing to get a seat. Better coming back from the Green Bus Terminal, but get there 15 mins before the bus leaves. Worth doing, although the alternative is a EUR 100 taxi in 45 mins. --- In summary, we had a lovely, restful stay. Would consider booking again if we return to Corfu :) Andy & Kat
Not a four star hotel in a milion years.
Not a 4* hotel, it’s max 3*, the personnel is pretty nice, clean beach, good breakfast. Kavos is a party destination full of young people drunk, if you are going to buy something in stores, be careful, they tend to overcharge you. Some thing at the restaurants.
