Perfect holiday to relax

This place is the best for a relaxing family holiday, beach and pool, with very quiet and peaceful surrounding. Hardly any night life so you can enjoy the view and listen to the sea. Private pool villa is a must!

Mixed Feelings

Firstly let me point out the good parts. We stayed in a two bed Maisonette with its own pool, the apartment was spacious, probably one of the best equipped holiday accommodations I’ve ever stayed in and very clean. A fault with two of the air con units was also promptly dealt with. The beach is very good and there are various tavernas and restaurants along the whole length of the beach that vary in quality and price. There are plenty of water activities on the beach which are reasonably priced apart from the jet skis which are 60 euros for ten minutes. The resort itself is quite small with a few shops and restaurants with a busy road running through it so if your looking for a peaceful evening stroll there really isn’t anywhere to go. The restaurants are hit and miss, we had some really good meals and some bad ones too. Caryatides was a good place to eat but I’d recommend booking as it gets busy. Overall the resort including the beach is a solid 4/5. The reason I give my overall score as a 3/5 is for the following. La Riviera Barbati advertise in the list of facilities that there is a swimming pool and leave you too believe it is a private pool for residents. It is not. The pool belongs to the Nautilus Taverna (which is very good) and is open for anyone to use which means it gets very very busy, very noisy and dirty. It also seems to be a meeting point for every local kid in the area. This misleading advertising would stop me returning. The pool at the accommodation was also very dirty, the water was clean but the green algae along the steps and floor of the pool made the floor slippery, it was also all over the lighting units in the pool. We did ask if we could have it cleaned only to be told they have 23 pools to clean and they would see what they could do. There were very good parts of our stay in Barbati, the beach is very good although very busy, the sea is clear and warm, there are some good places to eat and some of the people in the tavernas and restaurants are lovely. If you are not bothered about a pool and prefer a beach then you won’t be disappointed. If you want somewhere you can sit and relax by a pool then unless your accommodation has one I’d steer well clear.

Great accommodation, close to beach

We stayed in the 2 bedroom, sea view appartment. It was very close to both the beach and the sea. The appartment was clean and the towels were changed regularly and the bins emptied, beds made etc. The kitchen was well equipped. Air con worked and there was parking for our hire car. Nice outside space for meals. There is also a pool on site, although we mostly stayed by the beach. We thought that the loungers were a bit expensive compared with other providers on the same beach. All in all, it was a great holiday.

On the beach in beautiful grounds

Wonderful location and clean, spacious apartments. We stayed in a sea view apartment with 2 bedrooms. Air conditioning and WiFi worked well. Access to beach and pool was easy although the pool closed at 6.30. The beach bar staff are a little surly and the breakfast buffet at €12 each is not worth it. Try walking up the hill to ‘Coffee Lovers’ instead!

Excellent Accommodation

We have just returned from a 10 day stay in La riveria - booked through TUI in a 2 bed villa with own pool. Family of 5 The accommodation is excellent - very spacious, finished to a very high standard & extremely clean! We loved having our own pool. We had two bedrooms & then an extra bed in the annexe balcony upstairs so had plenty of room for everyone. WI fi also excellent. Smart TV with Netflix. Fully equipped kitchen - dishwasher & washing machine . Villa was cleaned & towels replaced frequently during our visit. Beach is a short walk down steps. Very high standard of accommodation. Barbati itself is a small resort but enough restaurants within walking distance - best to make reservations. Also small shops where you can buy all the groceries you need. We also did excursions with TUI & the pick up point was straight across the road from La Riveria. Would definitely recommend the 2 bed villa if you are after your own pool & a high standard of accommodation & a more quiet resort.
