If they aren't loyal to you why be loyal to them

Initially my experience was amazing with Divi at the front desk! I rate him 10+++++++. However, I asked for a late check out and the best then lady at the front desk said she could do 2. When I was checking out this gentleman came to the front desk to have his keys redone bc he goes I got a late check out for 3pm and my key isn't working. So I asked him if he was a diamond member or a gold and he said no he's nothing. I go what time did you ask for it he said around 10am. So for me being a gold member and wanting a 3pm check out so I could shower and get dressed in my room after my spa service wasn't possible bc it was at full capacity. Which I called at 645am. But it wasn't possible for me but someone that doesn't have status with Hilton gets better perks and service than me. I see where Hilton loyalty is and I'll take my loyalty to Marriott.

Issues....But a good value hotel depending on the rates

The good : Wonderful location if you want to be central but also have some space to wonder along the creek down to Al Seef and the heritage quarter, the souks, Abras. The hotel itself is in theory good value for money and operating under a well known name My trip ; From the start it was beset with issues. I booked a 'creek view room' The room had a creek view if you went to the window and looked to the left. Hilton, do better, please, on the mis-representation The aircon in my room was not functioning as it should. Nor the phone. At 1am having just checked in I wasn't amused. Long story short, I got moved to a new room the next day. Nicer room, upgraded. Unfortunately the kettle was broken, the air con remained stuck on 22 degrees and the toilet flush was partly broken. I spoke to reception about a new kettle. None arrived. I called down again a day later, I was told new one would be sent to my room. It didn't arrive. I gave up calling sometimes as I couldn't get through to anyone. Finally a new kettle was bought and it was.... broken It's not a huge deal, but it was frustrating. The rooms are ok, it's a bit odd having a black hammock hung in your room when you could have a lovely chair or sofa to enjoy the creek view with. The lack of any table or place to put your drink when sitting in bed is a design flaw. The bedsheet did not cover the entire mattress, and sections had to be tucked in numerous times The little SMEG fridge, the digitisation of lights and so on a nice touch, and the sky pool and bar area are lovely. If you are a solo visitor to have such a lovely view over the creek when you need to do some work in the evenings is unique In summary, this isn't a hotel you would want to stay in if you wanted a weeks pool holiday. It's not that type of place. But great if you want a base to see the sites or for work. Hilton need to do much better on testing whether things are working and attention to detail if my stay is anything to go by, and action promptly.

Good standard

We were not accommodated on the first day, although we submitted a reservation from a travel agency. They moved us to a nearby hotel where we had to stay one night. It was stressful. We stayed at the Canopy hotel for the next 6 nights. What we liked: the good location of the hotel in the old town on the shore of the bay, excellent and rich breakfast, the swimming pool on the roof of the hotel was a lifesaver from the heat, sockets also for guests from Europe. Quality bed, change of linen every day. Bottled water in the room every day, coffee machine in the room. Walking distance to the traditional local market, easy access by taxi to the city center. We appreciate the helpful and kind staff. The lifeguards at the pool even anticipate the wishes of the guests. The other staff always accommodated our requests. What can be improved: room on the 1st floor without a view, hair dryer and iron are not part of the room equipment, the air conditioner in the room could not be turned off, so it was quite cold, especially after returning from outside. The coffee capsules have not been refilled for the last few days. Complicated room light control system. A guide would be appropriate. Wifi unstable in places, we had to log in every time we returned to the hotel. Or ask the receptionist. Conclusion: we recommend staying at the hotel, it provides a good standard.



Super nice staff ! Very attentive service!

I’m a regular here in the Canopy. It has everything I need for my stays but most of all their employees are outstanding. Coming here I always feel very welcomed but even more, it’s like coming home abroad from home. Canopy has earned me being a regular for example Mr. Rony. Mr. Rony knows that on coffee I can be particular so whenever he has morning shift he will serve(!) me - although it’s a buffet style breakfast, my espresso from one particular espresso machine which my taste buds like the espresso from the most. Isn’t that lovely and thoughtful? Yes, it truly is! Me. Rony is one of the reasons and there are quite a lot working there in Canopy, I will keep coming back. Thanks for that!

Disappointing service at the Canopy

The Canopy Hilton Al Seef is a horrible representation of the Hilton brand. Service is very poor. Hotel itself is newer and modern, breakfast and pool are nice but that is where it ends. I have been to the front desk multiple times for various issues as no one ever answers when you call the operator from the room. I have tried all hours of the day and only reached an operator once. It either rings till it disconnects or says “this number has been turned off”. I have had maintenance to my room twice because the “auto” feature in the AC unit in my room has not worked and just is either blasting air 16 Celsius or you have to turn it off. Two nights ago, housekeeping banged on my door at 12:30am with the Do not disturb on insisting I asked for slippers which I did not. I tried to ignore them at first but they kept knocking which I got up to tell them I was asleep in bed with DND on. Today, despite having make up my room on, goalkeeping failed to come from 10am to 1530pm and I came back to no towels/ dirty room. I have never heard of housekeeping not coming during normal times. I travel frequently and am a Hilton Diamond and I have never had so many issues at a Hilton property. This hotel needs a complete replacement of hotel management to someone that understands hospitality.
